Chapter 69

Orion’s mind nearly went blank from sheer disbelief as he stared at the details of his Main Quest.

Reach Level 100 in five years.

How the hell was that even supposed to be possible?!

It was completely ridiculous!

No... calling it ridiculous was an understatement. It was practically impossible!

One had to understand that every ten levels represented a major surge in a warrior’s power, might, and potential. It wasn’t merely a matter of increasing a number on a status screen. Each major level represented a significant breakthrough that could completely transform a warrior’s capabilities and elevate them to an entirely different level of strength.

And the higher a warrior climbed, the more difficult each breakthrough became.

At the same time, the amount of EXP required to level up increased dramatically with every successive level. The experience needed to advance from one level to the next wasn’t simply a little higher than before... the difference could become enormous as a warrior progressed.

This was precisely why the Basic Level, which ranged from Level 1 to Level 10, was considered the easiest stage to break through.

It was the beginning, the foundation upon which a warrior’s future strength would be built. That was why it had been named the Basic Level in the first place.

However, the levels that followed were an entirely different matter.

The Elite Level was considerably more difficult to reach, and the Master Level that came after it was even harder to break through. A warrior could spend years struggling to accumulate enough EXP, temper their strength, and overcome the requirements necessary to advance.

In fact, it wouldn’t be unusual for a warrior to spend ten years trying to cross the gap between the Elite Level and the Master Level without succeeding.

Ten years!

And even after all that effort, there was no guarantee that they would succeed.

Yet, one had to remember that the renowned Master Level only capped at Level 30!

That’s right... Level 30!

And the system was telling Orion to reach Level 100 in just five years?

How the hell was he supposed to accomplish something like that?!

Orion felt an intense urge to curse. He really did, but he managed to restrain himself.

If there was one thing he absolutely couldn’t afford to let slip from his mind, it was the fact that the penalty attached to this quest was terrifyingly severe.

If he failed to reach Level 100 within five years, he would regress to being a G-Grade Summoner once more.

Back to square one, back to the same weakness he had struggled against for so long, and back to the very bottom, where his talent would once again be considered worthless and his potential dismissed before he even had the chance to prove himself.

That was completely unacceptable!

Orion’s expression darkened slightly.

He had bled, struggled, and endured humiliation, pain, and countless moments when the world had made it clear that he was nothing more than a worthless individual with a worthless talent. And now, after everything he had gone through, he had finally escaped that weakness.

He had finally been given a chance to rise above the limitations that had defined his life for so long.

There was absolutely no way he would allow himself to fall back into that pit!

Not after coming this far!

Even if the quest demanded that he push himself beyond his limits, even if he had to struggle harder than anyone else in history, he would do whatever it took to complete it. He wasn’t going to lose everything he had gained.

Not a chance!

Orion took a slow breath and forced himself to calm down. He deliberately ignored the arrogant remark the system had attached to the quest.

Seriously, what the hell did it mean by Level 500?

If reaching Level 100 was already an almost impossible task, then what about Level 500? Did such a level even exist? Was it possible for someone to reach that kind of strength?

Orion had absolutely no idea, and right now, he honestly couldn’t be bothered to care. Whether Level 500 existed or not was a problem for another day.

For now, his attention needed to be focused on one thing.

Leveling up.

He needed to grow stronger as quickly as possible, faster than anyone in history, and, most importantly, he needed to complete his Main Quest before the five-year deadline expired.

There was no room for laziness or complacency. He couldn’t afford to waste even a single opportunity that might help him advance.

At the same time, Orion couldn’t help feeling that the rewards attached to this quest would be just as extraordinary as the quest itself. After all, if the system was willing to impose such an outrageous requirement and such a severe penalty, then surely the reward had to be equally significant.

At least, that was what he hoped.

Even if someone struggled as hard as Orion intended to, reaching Level 100 within five years would still be practically impossible without some kind of extraordinary assistance.

A cheat treasure, a divine opportunity, or perhaps some kind of power that completely defied the ordinary rules of progression.

Without something like that, the chances of accomplishing such a feat were simply too low.

Fortunately...

Orion’s gaze shifted toward the system interface. He happened to possess several things that might very well qualify as divine assistance.

The five mystical treasures stored within his system were already absurd enough to make countless powerful individuals lose their minds. And that wasn’t even considering his newly awakened Origin skills, his S-Rank skill, or the other extraordinary abilities he had yet to fully explore.

Perhaps the heavens had decided to compensate him for all the suffering he had endured, or perhaps he had simply stumbled into a level of luck that no ordinary person could ever hope to experience.

Whatever the reason, Orion wasn’t about to complain.

If the system had given him the tools to become stronger, then he would make full use of them. He had no intention of wasting such an opportunity.

With that thought in mind, Orion shifted his gaze away from the Main Quest tab and toward a new system message that had appeared before him.

[Congratulations, Host! You have successfully reached the Basic Level!]

[Basic Level Package Granted!]

A small gift package appeared on the screen, immediately drawing Orion’s attention. He clicked on it, opening it without hesitation, and the moment its contents were revealed, his expression changed slightly.

[All Attributes +10!]

[Ding! Origin Blessing Level 1 Received!]

Orion blinked, then felt it.

A surge of power spread through his body, washing over him like a warm current. His physical and mental attributes increased by ten points each, and the change happened so smoothly that it almost felt as though his body had simply become accustomed to a greater level of strength.

His muscles felt more powerful, his senses seemed sharper, and his mind felt even more capable of processing information than before.

It was a subtle but unmistakable transformation.

Orion looked down at his status screen. His physical attributes, which had previously stood at 40, had now increased to 50, while his mental attributes, which had been at 50, had risen to 60.

As for his Will...

Well, that remained unchanged. After all, adding ten to infinity wouldn’t produce any meaningful difference.

Orion stared at the numbers for a moment before his mouth opened slightly.

"Oh..."

A smile slowly spread across his face.

He was happy.

Very happy.

His physical attributes were now at 50, while his mental attributes had reached 60 across the board. For someone who was still at Level 1, those numbers were nothing short of monstrous!

In fact, Orion seriously doubted that many Basic-Level warriors could match his attributes, even at the peak of Level 10. Most warriors needed to progress through multiple levels before accumulating the kind of strength he currently possessed.

Yet here he was, standing at the very beginning of his journey with attributes that could already rival those of considerably stronger individuals.

And this was only the beginning!

Orion couldn’t help wondering what his status would look like after he had advanced through several more levels. If a single gift package could increase all his attributes by ten points, then what would happen when he received even better rewards?

The possibilities were exciting.

However, as he continued examining his status screen, another thought crossed his mind.

Attribute limits.

As far as Orion knew, warriors had certain attribute limits associated with their major levels. At the Basic Level, the cap for an individual attribute was 100, or at least, that was what he understood from the information available to him.

However, he had never heard of anyone actually reaching the maximum attribute limit of their current major level. Most warriors advanced to the next major level before reaching that point, meaning they rarely had the opportunity to discover what would happen if their attributes reached their absolute limits.

Orion, on the other hand, had a feeling that he would encounter that problem sooner rather than later, and that was because his attributes were already absurdly high for his current level.

With his physical attributes sitting at 50 and his mental attributes at 60, he was already halfway to the Basic-Level cap in some areas and even closer in others. If he continued growing at this rate, it wouldn’t take long before he reached the limits of what a Basic-Level warrior could possess.

And when that happened...

He would have to advance to the Elite Level before he could continue increasing those attributes.

At least, that was what he assumed.

Still, it was a problem he could worry about later. For now, he was more interested in examining the second reward he had received from the gift package.

[Origin Blessing: Level 1]

Orion focused on the description.

[Origin Blessing: Level 1]

At midnight every day, the host will automatically receive one point in all attributes.

Orion stared at the words, remaining completely still for several seconds before his reaction finally caught up with him.

His eyes widened.

"..."

WHAT?!

One attribute point in every attribute...

Every single day?!

Orion nearly blacked out again.

If the previous rewards had already been absurd enough to leave him speechless, then this one was on an entirely different level.

Wasn’t this just cheating at this point?!

No, seriously! Wasn’t it?!

He would receive one point in all his attributes every day, automatically, without having to do anything!

Did that mean he could simply sleep all day without entering a single dungeon, fighting a single monster, or clearing even one quest, and his strength, speed, defense, constitution, stamina, intelligence, perception, wisdom, and charisma would continue increasing on their own?

He would become stronger without lifting a finger!

Orion stared at the system message as though he expected it to suddenly disappear, but it remained there. The description didn’t change, and the reward was real.

If the system was telling the truth, then this was one of the most outrageous advantages he could possibly have received.

A passive increase to all his attributes every single day!

He didn’t need to fight, train, or even be awake. As long as the conditions were fulfilled and midnight arrived, his attributes would increase automatically.

Day after day, week after week, month after month, the points would accumulate, gradually making him stronger even when he wasn’t actively doing anything to improve himself.

Of course, he would still need to level up and acquire skills if he wanted to continue advancing his overall strength. But the fact remained that his attributes would keep increasing in the background.

It was an absurd advantage.

A massive cheat!

Orion nearly burst into an uncontrollable fit of laughter. He had never imagined that he would one day receive an ability that could make him stronger simply by allowing time to pass.

It was almost as though the system had decided that the ordinary methods of progression were too troublesome and had chosen to give him a shortcut.

A very, very ridiculous shortcut.

However, just as Orion was about to fully indulge in his excitement, he suddenly noticed a potential problem, and his expression gradually settled.

Wait a minute.

There had to be a limit. There was no way this blessing could continue increasing his attributes indefinitely without any restrictions, at least not while he remained at the same major level.

Orion began thinking through the implications.

For example, an individual attribute at the Basic Level could reach a maximum of 100. His physical attributes were currently at 50, while his mental attributes were at 60.

If the Origin Blessing continued granting him one point in every attribute each day, then his physical attributes would reach 100 after fifty days, assuming he didn’t gain any additional increases from other sources.

And his mental attributes?

They would reach the same cap in just forty days!

That meant that if Orion simply did nothing for forty days, his mental attributes would reach the maximum limit of a Basic-Level warrior, with his physical attributes following ten days later.

Of course, these calculations assumed that his attributes continued increasing at the same rate and that he didn’t gain additional attribute points through other means.

Still, the general conclusion remained the same.

The Origin Blessing was powerful, but the attribute caps associated with each major level could eventually limit its effectiveness. Once an attribute reached the Basic-Level cap, he would likely need to advance to the Elite Level before he could continue increasing it.

It was a slight drawback, but honestly, when Orion considered the bigger picture, it barely mattered.

Even if he reached the Basic-Level attribute cap without advancing to the Elite Level, he would already possess attributes of 100 in every category. That alone would make him a monster among Basic-Level warriors.

He would be stronger than countless individuals who had spent years struggling to reach the peak of the Basic Level, and that was without taking his other advantages into account.

He had the Origin State, which could improve his combat efficiency and eventually multiply his attributes according to his level. He had telekinesis, an ability that could provide him with additional combat options, and Flash, his S-Rank movement skill.

And then there were the five mystical treasures stored within his system.

With all those advantages combined, it wasn’t impossible for him to reach the strength of a peak Elite-Level warrior while still being at the Basic Level. Perhaps even more, depending on how effectively he could use his abilities.

Orion took a deep breath before slowly exhaling.

He was beginning to feel as though the system was giving him too many cheats.

First, there were the five mystical treasures in his storage. Then came his S-Rank skill, followed by the Origin skills he had discovered, including the Origin State and its terrifying effects.

Now, he had received the Origin Blessing, which would continue increasing his attributes automatically every day.

And there were still countless locked skills and features waiting for him to unlock them!

What the hell was going on?

Was the Origin System deliberately trying to turn him into some kind of monster?
