Chapter 65

The name was Mana Devouring Chains.

Type: Unknown Treasure.

A set of mysterious chains possessing the ability to absorb, store, and manipulate mana. They could be used to drain an opponent’s mana, restricting their movement and interfering with the flow of mana throughout their body.

They could also be used in the opposite manner. Rather than restricting mana, they could surge forward one’s mana reserves, functioning like a mana battery.

In extremely rare circumstances, the chains would undergo a transformation, their ordinary appearance disappearing as they turned gold. When this happened, the user’s mana reserves could increase by up to twentyfold, all the way to one hundredfold.

The conditions required for this transformation were unknown.

Orion sucked in a deep, cold breath as he read through the description, finding himself at a loss for words once again.

The same words that had escaped his mouth more than once before he could stop himself came out again.

"This is totally broken."

A hundredfold boost to one’s mana reserves... That was simply ridiculous!

Such an increase would resolve one of the most troublesome problems faced by the majority of warriors. After all, one of the biggest limitations on a warrior’s strength was the amount of mana they possessed. No matter how powerful their abilities were or how destructive their skills could become, they would eventually be restricted by their available mana.

Even the strongest warriors had to consider how much mana they could afford to expend in battle, carefully managing their reserves to avoid running out at a critical moment.

But with this treasure?

Their mana reserves could increase a hundredfold, and in some cases, perhaps even a thousandfold if other factors came into play!

Just imagining the possibilities made Orion suck in another cold breath. Another thoroughly broken item was sitting right inside his system storage, waiting to be used.

And he had four other treasures alongside it!

Orion rubbed his forehead, feeling as though his understanding of what constituted a treasure had been completely overturned. If this was what the system considered an ordinary item in its storage, then he genuinely didn’t want to imagine what it would consider a truly extraordinary treasure.

After taking a moment to calm himself, he decided to examine the final item in his storage.

Name: Soul Box.

Type: Forbidden Treasure.

A mysterious box that feeds upon the souls of the dead. Every soul absorbed by the Soul Box is permanently consumed and transformed into an unknown energy.

Once this unknown energy has accumulated to a certain point, the Soul Box will produce a random treasure.

The resulting treasure can take any form or shape, including weapons, skills, artifacts, treasures, consumables, and many more.

The grades of the items produced range from weak B-Grade treasures to powerful SSS-Grade treasures.

However, the results of its production depend entirely on one’s luck. A hundred souls may produce nothing, while a single feeding may result in the creation of a broken treasure.

The greatest anomaly concerning the Soul Box is the fact that no one knows exactly what it will produce or when it will produce it.

Furthermore, SSS-Grade is not the highest grade of treasure the Soul Box can produce.

Orion stared at the description, taking in every word.

For several seconds, he didn’t move, his attention fixed on the information before him as he tried to process what he had just read.

Then, he slowly sucked in another breath.

If not for his mental fortitude being considerably higher than that of most people, he would probably have been hyperventilating by now, teetering on the very edge of a mental collapse.

And that wasn’t even considering the other factor.

He literally possessed Infinite Will.

Locked, yes, but infinite was still infinite!

Even if he couldn’t fully access it yet, that didn’t change the fundamental fact that his Will was beyond ordinary comprehension. Perhaps that was part of the reason he could continue processing all this information without completely losing his mind.

Or perhaps he was simply becoming accustomed to the absurdity of his situation.

Either way, Orion took another moment to compose himself before going through the five items in his storage once more, examining each one after another.

The Golden Mirror.

The Origin Awakening Eggs.

The Tri Divinity Dagger.

The Mana Devouring Chains.

And finally, the Soul Box.

After reviewing all five treasures, he arrived at one undeniable conclusion.

Every single one of them was the pinnacle of being broken!

There was simply no other way to describe them.

Each treasure possessed the potential to change the fate of an individual, influence the outcome of a battle, or even overturn the balance of power in the world.

And if he failed to keep them secret... If the people who weren’t supposed to know about these treasures somehow discovered their existence...

Orion was certain that he would be hunted down.

There was no question about it.

Some people would try to steal them, while others would attempt to manipulate him into handing them over. There would undoubtedly be those who wouldn’t bother with either approach, choosing instead to kill him and take everything for themselves.

With treasures of this caliber, even the most powerful organizations would find it difficult to remain indifferent.

Orion sighed, letting the thought settle before considering the other side of the situation.

Then, despite everything, a smile gradually appeared on his face.

The advantages far outweighed the disadvantages.

Honestly, just thinking about how much his combat power could increase with these treasures made him want to grin like a little kid who had just discovered an entire mountain of presents.

And who could blame him?

The Golden Mirror alone could potentially create multiple versions of himself, each possessing a substantial portion of his strength. The Tri Divinity Dagger offered terrifying enhancements, while the Mana Devouring Chains could provide an enormous advantage in battles where mana consumption became a problem.

Then there were the Origin Awakening Eggs, which could potentially change the foundations of someone’s talent, and the Soul Box, whose ultimate limits remained unknown.

The possibilities were simply too ridiculous.

Still, Orion restrained himself from getting carried away. He had already spent enough time marveling at the treasures, and if he continued like this, he might end up spending the entire day staring at his storage without accomplishing anything.

Instead, he decided to focus on examining the other parts of his system.

If he hadn’t expected much from his Reawakening before, then his expectations were steadily climbing now.

After all, the treasures were only one part of what he had gained.

There was still the Origin System itself to explore.

Soon, Orion’s attention settled on another tab.

[Sub Skills of the Origin Summoner]

He clicked on it, and the next moment, a long list of skills appeared before his eyes.

It was so extensive that the list seemed to stretch toward infinity, with countless names and descriptions arranged one after another.

Unfortunately, the vast majority of them were locked, leaving only a handful available for him to access.

Orion stared at the seemingly endless list for a moment, wondering what determined which skills were unlocked and which remained inaccessible.

Was it his level? His current strength? Perhaps there were other requirements he hadn’t discovered yet.

He had no idea.

And considering that the system clearly wasn’t capable of responding to his questions, complaining about it wouldn’t accomplish anything.

Rather than waste his time, Orion focused on the newly unlocked Origin skills.

The first skill caught his attention immediately.

[Origin Transfer]

When activated, a defeated foe will be sent into the Origin, allowing it to return as an Origin Summon directly subordinated to Orion as its master.

Orion’s eyes lit up.

Finally!

After all this time, his Summoner talent could actually get him a proper summon!

For so long, his talent had seemed almost useless compared to what he had imagined a Summoner should be capable of doing. The very idea of commanding powerful summons had been one of the reasons the talent appealed to him in the first place, yet until now, he hadn’t been able to put it to any meaningful use.

But things were finally changing.

With Origin Transfer, he could potentially turn defeated enemies into Origin Summons and add them to his forces.

The thought alone made him excited.

However, as Orion continued reading the information that appeared in his mind, he noticed something rather unusual about the skill.

It seemed to function more like necromancy than a conventional Summoner ability.

After all, according to the information he had received, he could only send dead beings into the Origin to be transformed into Origin Summons. Living targets were out of the question.

And while the skill didn’t explicitly state that he had to kill the targets himself, doing so would apparently increase the chances of a successful transfer.

In other words, the most preferable targets were enemies he had personally slain.

Orion considered this for a moment, weighing the implications of the ability.

It was certainly an unusual method for a Summoner to obtain summons, but he wasn’t about to complain.

A summon was a summon.

As long as he could make use of the ability, he didn’t particularly care whether it resembled necromancy or traditional summoning.

Besides, considering the kind of system he had awakened, it was probably unwise to judge its abilities by conventional standards.

Orion moved his attention to the next skill.

Then he paused.

[Origin State]

The unique state of the Origin itself.

When the host enters this state, two Origin effects will be granted.

First Effect: Origin Multiplication.

While in the Origin State, all of the host’s attributes are multiplied by the host’s current level.

These attributes include physical attributes, mental attributes, Will, and mana.

The multiplier increases as the host’s level rises.

Second Effect: Origin Mind.

While in the Origin State, the host’s mind enters a perfect state of calmness and domineering mental clarity.

The host gains exceptionally high concentration and supremely heightened battle awareness, alongside over one hundred percent efficiency in the usage of mana and the application of physical and mental attributes.

All attributes work together with perfect effectiveness, with no wasted effort.

The host also gains temporary, intense mastery over skills and techniques.

This is the peak state of mind that a warrior should aspire to attain.

Orion’s eyes nearly popped out of their sockets as he read the description.

He went through it once, then again, and finally a third time, just to make sure he hadn’t misunderstood anything.

What the hell?!

The Origin State was this ridiculous?!

The two effects that came with it were already absurd individually, but when combined, they were practically tailor-made to turn him into a monster on the battlefield.

First, there was Origin Mind.

The ability granted him an extraordinary level of concentration, heightened battle awareness, and an almost perfect degree of efficiency in using his attributes, skills, and mana.

In other words, it allowed him to make the absolute most out of everything he possessed.

Normally, even a powerful warrior couldn’t use every aspect of their strength with perfect efficiency. There would always be some degree of waste, whether in the movement of their body, the execution of their techniques, or the flow of mana through their skills.

A fraction of a second might be lost, a movement might be slightly inefficient, or a little more mana might be expended than necessary.

Such things could seem insignificant individually, but in a battle between powerful opponents, even the smallest inefficiency could determine the outcome.

Yet Origin Mind promised to eliminate that waste to an extraordinary degree.

It would allow Orion to control his strength more effectively, coordinate his attributes with greater precision, and use his skills and techniques with a level of mastery far beyond what he could normally achieve.

And that wasn’t all.

The temporary mastery over skills and techniques was another terrifying advantage. Even if he hadn’t fully mastered a particular technique, entering the Origin State would allow him to wield his abilities with far greater proficiency.

That alone was enough to make the skill worth its weight in gold.

However...

As incredible as Origin Mind was, it wasn’t the effect that truly shocked Orion.

That honor belonged to the first effect.

Origin Multiplication.

Orion read the description again, trying to wrap his head around what it actually meant.

All his attributes would be multiplied by his current level.

What did that even mean?!

Let us assume that he was Level 10.

If he activated the Origin State, his physical attributes, which currently stood at forty, would soar to four hundred!

His mental attributes, currently sitting at fifty, would rise to five hundred!

And those were only the basic examples.

His Will would be multiplied as well, alongside his mana reserves.

His already staggering MP of 10,000 would rise to a whopping 100,000!

Orion stopped, suddenly questioning his own calculation.

Wait.

Something wasn’t adding up.

He looked at the numbers again, mentally working through the calculation.

Ten thousand multiplied by ten...

One hundred thousand.

Yes, that was correct.

Even so, the result was insane!

And the higher his level became, the more ridiculous the effect would grow.

At Level 20, his attributes would be multiplied twentyfold.

At Level 50, they would be multiplied fiftyfold.

And if he somehow reached Level 100...

Orion’s thoughts momentarily came to a halt as he considered the possibility.

He didn’t even want to imagine what his attributes would look like at that point.

Of course, the actual increase would depend on his current attributes and level, but the principle remained the same.

The stronger he became, the more terrifying the Origin State would be.

It was practically an ability that grew alongside him, ensuring that the higher he climbed, the greater the advantage it would grant him.

And considering that Orion’s attributes were already far beyond what someone at his current level should possess, the resulting amplification could become downright monstrous.

"This..."

Orion swallowed, still struggling to fully process the implications.

"This is absolutely insane."
