Origin Summoner: All My Summons Are Broken
Chapter 103: Final Clash Against The Webfiend Lord (1)
Chapter 100
Name: Webfiend Lord
Level: 20
Physical Attributes: 350
Mental Attributes: 260
Orion scanned the dungeon boss, and the excitement surging within him skyrocketed.
Level 20, with 350 Physical Attributes and 260 Mental Attributes.
A smile slowly appeared on his face. The monster was strong... no, it was genuinely powerful.
Even after reaching Grade S, the Webfiend Lord had not stopped at merely improving its overall strength. Its physical attributes had reached an astonishing level, while its mental attributes were equally impressive. The combination made it a formidable opponent capable of overwhelming most warriors through sheer power alone, without even needing to rely on a special ability.
But that wasn’t even the full extent of its strength.
The displayed attributes only represented its basic combat capabilities. Once its deadly webstrings were added to the equation, the Webfiend Lord became an entirely different kind of monster.
Its strings could stretch across vast distances, form weapons, restrict movement, attack from unexpected angles, and transform the surrounding battlefield into a deadly prison. They could turn the sky into a rain of blades and the ground into a network of hidden traps, leaving opponents with almost nowhere to escape.
Now that it had broken through to Grade S, even those dangerous webstrings had become stronger, making the monster an even greater threat than before.
It was no longer merely a powerful opponent.
It was a walking disaster.
Orion’s smile widened slightly.
Excellent.
Without wasting another second, he kicked off the ground.
BOOM!
The earth beneath his feet shattered as he accelerated forward, his telekinesis erupting around his body and propelling him toward the Webfiend Lord at astonishing speed.
In the next instant, he was already above the monster. His body descended from the air, and the red dagger in his hand flashed toward the Webfiend Lord’s throat in a clean, precise strike aimed directly at a vital point.
There was no unnecessary movement or wasted force, just a perfectly executed attack designed to end the fight as efficiently as possible.
CLANG!
A deafening metallic impact echoed across the battlefield, abruptly forcing Orion’s hand backward.
At the last possible moment, the Webfiend Lord had produced a dagger of its own, blocking Orion’s attack before the blade could reach its throat.
Before Orion could follow up, the monster’s second hand stretched forward. Countless webstrings burst from its palm, twisting together at incredible speed until they formed a sharp spear. The weapon shot toward Orion’s chest, its pointed tip gleaming with deadly purple light.
Orion tilted his body slightly to avoid the direct attack while moving his blue dagger into position.
CLANG!
The spear struck the blade and was deflected, its trajectory changing as it flew past his body.
However, the Webfiend Lord was already moving again.
Its elongated hand stretched forward, and a familiar scythe appeared in its grasp. The weapon’s curved edge gleamed like the blade of the Grim Reaper, radiating pure, unrestrained malice as the monster prepared its next attack.
The Webfiend Lord swung, sending the scythe toward Orion’s waist at terrifying speed.
Orion twisted his body, narrowly avoiding the first strike. Before the weapon could complete its arc, he brought the blue dagger down toward the monster’s arm, attempting to punish it before it could launch another attack.
The Webfiend Lord raised its dagger to intercept him.
Another metallic clang rang out, and sparks burst between their weapons.
For a brief moment, the two figures remained locked in a contest of strength, their blades pressing against each other as the surrounding air trembled beneath the force they exerted. Neither gave the other an opportunity to gain the upper hand.
Then, they moved simultaneously.
Their weapons separated, and both launched another series of attacks.
The Webfiend Lord’s many eyes remained fixed on Orion as a thought surfaced in its mind.
He’s just a human child...
I’m stronger. I know I’m stronger.
It could feel the difference in their physical attributes. Its strength was superior, its speed was greater, and the aura surrounding its body proved that it had crossed into a level of existence most creatures could only dream of reaching.
Yet...
How?
How can he possess such a calm, predatory aura?
The Webfiend Lord’s thoughts became increasingly unsettled as their exchange continued.
There was something deeply wrong about the way Orion fought. The human didn’t behave like prey, nor did he move like someone desperately trying to survive against a stronger opponent. Instead, every movement carried the composure of a predator that had already chosen its target.
It was almost as though the Webfiend Lord wasn’t the hunter here.
It was the prey.
The monster shook its head, dismissing the absurd thought before it could affect its judgment.
No. I don’t need to frighten myself with such nonsense.
It had already become a Grade S monster and possessed the strength to crush this human. Perhaps the problem was simply that it had been taking him too seriously, allowing the strange aura surrounding him to influence its judgment.
The Webfiend Lord narrowed its eyes.
I’ll fight this kid with only half my strength. Once I crush him, everything will be settled.
The purple spider tattoo covering its body suddenly began to glow.
A dark purple aura emerged from its skin, spreading across its body like an ominous flame. The energy gathered around its limbs, reinforcing its muscles and flowing through its weapons as the monster activated its newly acquired ability.
The atmosphere immediately grew heavier.
Unlike ordinary monsters, a Grade S monster possessed access to a special ability that could complement its already formidable strength and elevate its combat capabilities by several degrees.
In the Webfiend Lord’s case, that ability allowed it to boost its power by a factor of three.
Three times.
Its strikes would become heavier, its movements deadlier, and its weapons would possess far greater cutting power. Every attack would carry destructive force that its previous form could never have achieved.
Against an opponent of this level, a single mistake could mean instant death.
The dark purple aura intensified around the Webfiend Lord, and its lips curled into a sinister smile.
With this newly acquired ability, that human child is doomed.
BOOOOM!
The two figures moved simultaneously, and the ground beneath them exploded as they accelerated, leaving deep craters and shattered earth in their wake.
In the blink of an eye, they collided at the centre of the battlefield, their weapons meeting with enough force to send a violent shockwave through the surrounding area.
The air screamed as their combined strength tore through it, sending dust and fragments of rock flying in every direction.
Orion’s red dagger clashed against the Webfiend Lord’s scythe, while his blue dagger intercepted the monster’s other weapon.
CLANG!
BOOM!
CLANG!
Each collision produced a deafening sound as the two continued exchanging blows.
