Chapter 294: 294: Protecting Mama.

Minnie sat quietly for a while, staring at the scene before her. After a moment, she turned her attention to the sword Kan was holding.

She stared at it for a while, running through a few ideas in her head. Then, as though she’d finally come up with something, she slowly got to her feet.

Ally and the others had turned their attention towards the warriors fighting off the Hyena Beastmen, while Kan and Rai were preparing to join the fight and help take them down.

Meanwhile, Minnie quietly picked up a sword she found on the ground. Kellie, who had been sitting beside her, tilted his head as he watched her. He seemed to have made the same observation, and while no one was paying attention, he slowly transformed into his human form.

He now sat there with black wolf ears poking out of his black hair and black tails extending from his back.

While his sister managed to pick up the sword, the naked Kellie looked around until he spotted a stick nearby. He quietly reached for it, gripping it in his little hands.

At that moment, the three Hyena Beastmen who had been sneaking up behind Ayra suddenly felt something hard smash against the head of one of them.

The other two paused and turned around, only to see a sword striking their companion’s head.

Immediately, the Hyena Beastman who had been hit grew dizzy and collapsed to the ground.

"..."

The other two Hyenas stared in confusion at what had just happened. Their surprise only grew when they spotted little Minnie standing behind their fallen companion, holding a sword that was much bigger than her.

Minnie stared at the fallen Hyena before looking up at the other two, blinking innocently as though she had done nothing wrong.

The two Hyenas exchanged glances before turning towards the little girl, preparing to attack her. However, before they could make a move, another sudden strike landed on the head of the second Hyena, causing him to collapse instantly.

"..."

The remaining Hyena turned around and saw little Kellie sitting behind his fallen companion. The naked cub held a huge stick in his hands, staring innocently at the beast as if he had absolutely nothing to do with what had happened.

The last Hyena Beastman immediately tried to attack little Kellie, but Minnie swung her sword again and smashed it against his head. He, too, grew dizzy and collapsed to the ground.

Just like that, all three Hyena Beastmen lay on the ground, completely incapacitated by the twins’ attacks and the effects of Ayra’s poison. Meanwhile, the little cubs sat there innocently, staring at the fallen bodies as though they hadn’t done anything at all.

The fight came to an end shortly afterwards. Seeing that they were outnumbered and their companions had been taken down, the five remaining Hyena Beastmen immediately turned and fled for their lives, disappearing into the woods.

With that, the fighting finally stopped.

"The twins..." Ally looked around for the two little ones, wondering where she’d left them. However, she couldn’t find them at first. When she looked more carefully, she spotted them sitting at a distance near Ayra, still holding the sword and stick in their hands.

Ayra returned to her human form and hurried over to the twins, bending down to check on them. The others gathered around them as well, making sure they were safe and unharmed.

"Look! Kellie finally took his human form!" Ally exclaimed happily as she ran her hands through Kellie’s hair and gently touched his ears. "So tiny and adorable! His ears feel so soft!"

Kellie simply giggled, sitting there naked with the stick still in his hands.

"Finally, the twins have both managed to take their other forms!" Rai remarked with a smile.

However, Kan was more interested in the weapons the innocent-looking cubs were holding. After staring at them for a moment, he reached towards his side, only to realize that his sword was missing.

"But... Why are they holding those?" Kan asked in confusion. He looked around before suddenly realizing something. "Did Minnie steal my sword?"

Rai smiled. "Well, it seems she did more than just steal it..." They glanced at the fallen Hyena Beastmen the twins had taken down with their weapons. "They even managed to take down these three. At this point, the two of them should officially join the tribe’s warriors!"

One of the warrior beastmen smiled and added, "Like father, like children!"

Ayra smiled as she gently patted the twins’ heads. "You two brave little ones... Why would you do something so dangerous? Don’t you know how dangerous it is?"

Minnie looked up at Ayra and replied, "Evil monster harms Mama..."

She had managed to put together a few more words, and Kellie nodded firmly in agreement with her statement.

Ayra smiled and continued patting their hair. "That’s so cute."

"Protecting Mama by all means!" Neris declared proudly. "They definitely learned that from me! Such bravery!"

"No, they learned it from me!" Nat immediately argued.

"What a joke. It’s clearly from me," Nyeon said, folding his arms as he turned to stare at the others.

Neris scoffed. "None of you are as brave as me!"

And just like that, the three triplet snakes began bickering among themselves again.

Zay stood nearby with his arms folded, shaking his head at their antics. Ayra and the others couldn’t help smiling as they watched the triplets argue over who deserved the credit.

After a while, Ayra bent down and picked up the naked little Kellie, who immediately nestled into her arms. Rai also lifted Minnie and carried her.

"Let’s get you home and dressed immediately so you don’t catch a cold," Ayra said with a smile, holding Kellie close. "Good boy..."

"Me too! Me too!" Minnie insisted from Rai’s arms, demanding new clothes as well.

"Me too! I also want new clothes, Mama!" Nat chimed in as they followed Ayra.

"You just got yours, though!" Neris argued.

"I want a new one!" Nat insisted firmly, continuing to follow Ayra.

They had accomplished what they’d come into the woods to do and had safely rescued the little ones. With the children accounted for, the group began making their way out of the woods, leaving the dead Hyena Beastmen behind.

They walked back towards the tribe, chatting and laughing amongst themselves as though the frightening incident was already behind them.

However, as they disappeared into the distance, something continued watching them from the bushes.

Two red eyes peered out from the shadows, hidden among the leaves. They had been watching for a while, silently observing everything that had happened.

The eyes remained fixed on the group until they were completely out of sight. Once Ayra and the others had disappeared, the mysterious eyes slowly blinked before closing and vanishing into the depths of the bushes.
