Chapter 267: 267: Baby Milk.

While Nyx tried to understand the source of this familiar energy, the monsters began approaching from the entrance.

First, their eyes became strikingly apparent. Glowing green eyes emerged from the darkness as they slowly made their way into the cave. And it was certain that these eyes didn’t belong to just one monster.

There were a lot of them.

Commander Lynn and the rest stepped backward, studying the scene ahead as the light from the cave revealed the approaching monsters.

Black leopards.

They were huge and vicious-looking, with glowing green eyes. These monsters didn’t seem like the normal Wild Monsters in the woods. Commander Lynn and Nyx could both perceive a darker energy surrounding them.

"Stay behind me... okay?" Commander Lynn told Ayra firmly as they prepared to attack.

Ayra stood watching as about ten of these monsters stepped into the cave, their glowing green eyes surveying everyone around them.

And without hesitation, they charged forward, leaping toward them as a brutal fight ensued.

The monsters were wild and aggressive, their claws slashing toward Commander Lynn and his team. Commander Lynn and Nyx fought them off while standing before Ayra protectively. They used their fists and weapons to strike at the wild leopards jumping toward them.

The other beastmen also moved to the front, trying their best to beat the monsters back. The wild leopards moved rapidly from one place to another, charging with their claws and powerful attacks while the beastmen struggled to fend them off with their weapons.

But the power difference was clear, and even Ayra could tell.

The wild monsters were clearly stronger than these warrior beastmen, most of whom were C-, D-, or B-ranks, with only a few A-ranks among them.

They tried their best to fight back, but the monsters were clearly stronger, knocking them down from time to time and sending them flying through the air before they smashed against the walls.

And as though that wasn’t enough danger, more wild leopards began entering the cave.

Their numbers continued to grow.

Ayra gasped. "What are you going to do now...?" she asked Lynn and Nyx.

Nyx stared ahead. "You two stay here. I’ll go ahead and fend them off."

He charged forward, jumping through the air and attacking the monsters that continued pouring through the entrance.

The fight grew even more aggressive as Commander Lynn stood before Ayra, fighting off the endless stream of monsters.

It was almost as though they were specifically targeting Ayra. They kept flooding toward her direction, giving Commander Lynn even more work.

He kicked, punched, and struck some down with his weapon. But that didn’t make him invincible, as these strangely powerful monsters still managed to hit him from time to time.

Like the others, Commander Lynn also sustained several bruises in the process, leaving him increasingly worn down.

Ayra gasped as she stepped backward. She watched as these wild monsters continued overwhelming Commander Lynn and the other beastmen.

Only Nyx seemed unaffected.

He was handling the monsters remarkably well, but Ayra didn’t know how long that would last.

She knew that if this continued, they’d all be dead meat.

And when she checked the time, Ayra saw that she only had roughly one hour left.

They couldn’t continue like this.

"I have to do something..." she muttered to herself as she looked around. She had to help.

And immediately, she recalled something.

"The milk..." Ayra muttered as she pulled out a bottle of Hyper Baby Milk from her mini pocket space and stared at it. "This could work..."

She looked at the system.

"Right?"

[Yes. The milk could potentially heighten their energy temporarily and help them fight better.]

[But note: Since they aren’t cubs, there could be wide-ranging effects!]

Ayra stared at the message.

"Side effects... are they bad? Like dangerous enough to kill them?"

[No. Not like that at all.]

Ayra sighed in relief. "Then that’s good."

She nodded before turning to Commander Lynn. ⅇ

"Here! Take this and drink it!"

Commander Lynn caught the bottle she threw at him and stared at it in confusion.

"What is...?"

But Ayra instantly snapped, "Don’t ask. Just drink it now!"

He listened to Ayra and immediately drank the bottle of milk down before another attack could reach him.

Ayra did the same for the others.

She stepped backward as she pulled more bottles of milk from her space, then called the attention of the other warrior beastmen who were being beaten down.

"Here! Catch and drink immediately!" Ayra instructed as she threw a bottle to each of them.

They all caught the bottles and drank them down without asking any questions.

She couldn’t give any to Nyx because he was too busy fighting and had the most monsters surrounding him. She would have to wait until he was free.

Or maybe not, since he seemingly had everything under control.

As they drank the milk, Ayra stepped backward, watching them while hoping for the best.

"There goes nothing..." she muttered.

Commander Lynn instantly felt a rush of energy run through his veins.

He paused for a moment and closed his eyes. Almost immediately, he opened them again.

Something had changed within him, and he couldn’t really tell what it was. But he could tell that he had grown stronger.

As five monsters suddenly jumped at him, Commander Lynn effortlessly waved his hand toward them.

A powerful force instantly sent them flying through the air before they smashed hard against the rocks.

"..."

Surprised, he stared at his hands before looking at the monsters on the ground, struggling to get back up.

Then he turned toward Ayra, who was equally surprised by what she had just witnessed.

Ayra smiled.

"Well... at least that’s something."

She watched as Commander Lynn continued making use of his newly found energy. He fought the monsters head-on, gripping them and throwing them into the distance, slamming his fists into them and leaving them bleeding.

The warrior beastmen who had also taken the milk felt a similar surge of energy. They felt different—stronger and better.

And they had also begun using this newfound energy against the flood of monsters surrounding them.

But just then, even more monsters continued flooding into the cave.

It was as though they were an endless army of leopard monsters.

And now, nearly triple the original number had made their way into the cave...
