Only Female In A Beast Tribe: Crazymen Fight To Pamper The Villainess!
Chapter 256: Not That.
Chapter 256: 256: Not That.
The Rabbit Chef scoffed as he ran a hand through his ears. "You... No, you can’t... You peeled one side and left the other. And you can’t peel off the body itself... that’s the main part we’re supposed to eat..."
"...."
Commander Lynn stared down at the potatoes he had already worked on.
"Oh... I see..."
The Rabbit Chef sighed as he said, "Can we maybe do it again...?"
Commander Lynn simply shrugged and proceeded to do it again.
When the Rabbit Chef turned to the rest of them, he was surprised to see them taking the easy route. Lord Zark, Lord Vale, and Lord Ash were running their fingers through the potatoes in a jiffy, trying to peel them faster.
"What are you doing...?" the Rabbit Chef inquired.
"The faster, the better," Lord Ash said.
"Work fast," Lord Vale agreed.
The Rabbit Chef stared at what they were doing, rather speechless.
"You’re cutting too deep into the body of the potatoes..." he called them out. "And you can’t do that while peeling them..."
"...."
The three of them were speechless. They blinked before turning to stare at Nyx, who was basically doing the same thing.
"But he’s also doing it..." Lord Ash said, making it obvious that they had simply been copying his tactics.
The Rabbit Chef turned to Nyx, who was still working. His fingers moved smoothly through the potatoes as he peeled them.
"Perfect!" the Rabbit Chef exclaimed with a smile. "This is perfect! Everyone should learn from this and do the same! He got it so perfectly! Everything is peeled just right."
"...."
The rest were speechless.
They sat there staring at Nyx, who looked rather proud and happy as he continued working smoothly, as if he had been doing this all his life.
"I thought he wasn’t so good at this...?" Lord Ash asked, tilting his head.
Lord Vale tilted his head along with him. "A coincidence. What else could it be? It’s a coincidence..."
The two of them slowly nodded in agreement with that theory.
And so, they all moved closer to watch Nyx and learn how he was doing it. They carefully observed his movements and copied him until they slowly got the hang of it.
And so, the great beastmen of the tribe found themselves sitting down and working earnestly at peeling potatoes. Their eyes were fixed on the task as they carefully peeled them one after another.
While they worked, Lord Zark accidentally squeezed one of the potatoes so firmly that it was crushed in his hand.
"...."
He paused, slowly looking up until his eyes met the strict gaze of the Rabbit Chef.
Lord Zark blinked before tossing the potato aside.
"Accident. An accident."
---
"Now, let’s start the fire..." the Rabbit Chef announced.
Lord Zark instantly stepped forward.
"Don’t worry, I’ll handle this. This is my domain," he explained proudly, folding both arms. He was a dragon, so naturally, he felt he should be the one to do it.
Besides, he hadn’t done anything yet. He had to earn his name today!
The Rabbit Chef slowly nodded. "I was thinking of using the old method, though..."
"No need for that when I’m here," Lord Zark said confidently. "I’m the Dragon Lord, so I’ll handle this."
He happily walked over to where the firewood had been carefully placed.
Everyone stood around watching him closely as he leaned toward the firewood. He cleared his throat as though he were flaunting his skills, then breathed fire at it.
A massive burst of flames spread through the wood.
The fire blasted upward, growing so large that it almost consumed a great portion of the kitchen.
"Ah!"
Ally instantly yelped and ran backward, hiding behind the other beastmen.
Lord Vale and Lord Ash also found themselves moving backward from the sudden burst of fire, each hiding behind Commander Lynn and Nyx.
The Rabbit Chef jumped up in fear and ended up dangling from a corner of the kitchen, staring down at the massive burning flames.
Only Lord Zark remained standing close to the fire, his arms folded as he proudly stared at the flames he had created.
With a smile, he turned around, only to realize that he was the only one still standing there.
Everyone else had run backward.
He blinked. "Huh? What happened? Is it okay?"
"What’s that?" the Rabbit Chef asked fearfully from above. "We’re preparing some food and not roasting an entire community, okay?"
"...."
Lord Zark tilted his head. "So the fire isn’t okay yet?"
"....!"
The Rabbit Chef panicked so badly that he almost peed.
Okay yet?!
Ally peeked out from her hiding place. "Papa, I think he means that it’s too much. So..."
"...."
Lord Zark looked at the scene before him.
"Oh..."
He then reduced the flames until the fire was small enough to cook something.
"This okay?"
Satisfied, the Rabbit Chef jumped down from his hiding place and adjusted his clothing as if nothing had happened.
"Now... let’s get down to business."
Ally burst out laughing at the scene, shaking her head.
"He really did give everyone a scare by almost turning us into the meat!"
---
After setting up the pot over the fire, the Rabbit Chef had them put everything into the boiling water. Then they all sat around while he explained what they needed to do next.
"Now we’ll leave it and keep an eye on it until it’s ready," he said. "And that shall be when it gets soft."
With that, they all sat around and watched it.
Minutes passed, and more followed.
But nothing happened.
They simply sat there, staring at the pot awkwardly.
Lord Ash yawned before turning to stare at the Rabbit Chef. "So, when will it be ready again...?"
The Rabbit Chef explained once more. "When it gets soft. That’s when we’ll know."
Lord Ash was impatient, so he found himself poking at the potatoes to check them from time to time.
He poked them almost every second.
Every thirty seconds, he’d lean closer and poke one of the potatoes in the pot. Another thirty seconds would pass, and he’d get close again to poke it.
He continued this way until the Rabbit Chef developed a headache.
"It won’t cook faster if you keep doing that..." he finally said.
"Oh..."
Lord Ash nodded as he sat back down and stared at the pot.
Another minute passed.
He leaned closer and poked it again.
The Rabbit Chef gave up.
