Chapter 99: Celestial’s Might Conditions, A Vision for Leon?

Chapter 99: Chapter 99: Celestial’s Might Conditions, A Vision for Leon?

Through all the battles where [Celestial’s Might] had activated, Leon had slowly pieced together how the ability truly worked.

There were clear conditions. Exactly two of them.

The first condition was simple. The opponent had to be stronger than him.

If the enemy was around the same level, or weaker, the passive would not trigger.

Leon suspected this was intentional. As a [Celestial], this ability existed to let him overturn impossible situations, not to let him bully weaker opponents even harder than he already could.

It was a power meant to tilt unfair fights back into balance.

The second condition was something Leon had only fully confirmed during his battle against the [Guardian Dragon of Elements].

The trigger for [Celestial’s Might] was a physical attack. It did not work through spells.

Leon needed to personally engage his opponent with a direct attack.

Whether the enemy blocked, dodged, deflected, or took the hit did not matter.

As long as Leon committed to a physical strike, the system recognized it as an attack.

And in this fight, that condition had been perfectly met.

Boom!

Celestial’s Might!

A massive pressure slammed into the vision of [WyvernKing], and the effect was immediate.

Leon felt it clearly. The overwhelming presence in front of him weakened in an instant.

’Just as expected,’ Leon thought calmly. ’This is the first time I use it against something that resembles a player.’

Of course, this was not the real WyvernKing. The true one had long since moved to the [Eternal Domain], far beyond the reach of this ability.

But the vision still counted. And the system treated it as an opponent worthy of judgment.

A panel flashed briefly.

[WyvernKing]

[Combat Power: 89,600]

The drop was massive.

His combat power had been reduced by nearly a third, falling close to Leon’s own. It was still slightly higher, but no longer overwhelming.

Leon smiled.

’Now this is no longer about raw numbers,’ he thought. ’Now experience decides everything.’

WyvernKing moved again.

Slash! Slash!

The twin swords came down in rapid succession, but their weight felt different now. The pressure behind the strikes was weaker, and Leon could feel it clearly through every block and dodge.

The audience noticed it too.

“Is he holding back?”

“That makes no sense. Normally the vision destroys challengers instantly.”

“Maybe it is playing with him.”

Confusion spread through the stands.

They had seen this fight many times before. The outcome was always the same. The challenger lost, quickly and brutally.

This was different. Even the vision itself reacted.

WyvernKing’s movements became sharper, more deliberate. It did not understand what had happened, but it sensed the change.

Its goal remained the same: kill the opponent.

WYVERN SOUL!

The vision raised one of its swords high into the air.

BOOM!

A violent burst of aura exploded outward, shaking the entire [Myriad Arena]. The ground trembled, and the air itself seemed to vibrate under the pressure.

The crowd erupted.

“That is it. That is one of his signature techniques.”

“He is done for now.”

“That move alone wiped out so many challengers.”

Leon watched carefully as the transformation completed.

The sword in WyvernKing’s hand twisted and reshaped itself, flesh and scales forming rapidly. In seconds, the weapon was no longer a sword at all.

It had become a living wyvern head.

The creature snarled, its eyes burning with feral intelligence, its jaws lined with sharp teeth dripping with heat.

Leon blinked.

“…That is weird,” he muttered.

Still, he did not panic. WyvernKing was not the only one with tricks.

Leon drew in a breath and focused inward.

Storm of Elements!

The skill activated instantly.

Power surged from Leon’s [Elemental Dragon Armor], and the arena itself responded.

Fire and water erupted around WyvernKing, swirling chaotically as steam filled the air.

The ground beneath them cracked and trembled as earth energy surged upward.

Violent winds tore through the arena, pushing and pulling at everything in their path.

The entire battlefield became a storm. The vision hesitated.

For the first time, WyvernKing’s movements slowed. Keeping focus while being assaulted by so many elemental forces at once was far more difficult than expected.

Still, it charged forward. The wyvern head snapped toward Leon, jaws wide open.

Snap!

Leon shifted his body at the last moment, narrowly avoiding the bite. The heat from the creature’s breath washed over him as he retaliated, slashing his sword across the wyvern head’s snout.

ROOOAR!

The creature roared in fury, its anger clearly increasing. Flames burst from its mouth, scorching the ground and filling the air with smoke.

Leon remained calm. It was impressive, he admitted. A living weapon like this was rare even among draconic races.

But it was not enough. He raised his staff.

Storm of Lightning! Powerful Fireball!

Fwish! Zap!

Lightning tore through the arena, branching violently as it struck WyvernKing’s body. The electrical surge stunned the vision for a brief moment, locking its movements.

That was all Leon needed.

BOOM!

The fireball detonated directly against WyvernKing, engulfing him in flames. The explosion rocked the arena, and when the smoke cleared, the vision was on one knee, armor scorched and cracked.

The crowd fell silent.

“…!”

Even then, the vision tried to rise.

Its determination mirrored that of the original WyvernKing. It refused to fall, even when defeat was obvious.

Leon watched it closely.

’It even carries his will,’ Leon thought. ’But this ends here.’

The smoke thickened, obscuring the battlefield.

WyvernKing and the wyvern head scanned the arena, searching.

Leon was gone. For a split second, the vision hesitated. That was enough.

SLASH!

Leon emerged from the shadows behind WyvernKing, his body still coated in darkness from [Shadow Slash]. His blade moved cleanly and decisively.

The strike cut straight through the vision’s neck.

The head fell. The body collapsed.

Silence dominated the Myriad Arena for a heartbeat. Then the system spoke.

Ding!

[Leon Rykard has managed to win his tenth match in a row.]

The arena exploded. Cheers, gasps, and shouts filled the air. Some players roared in excitement.

Others stood frozen in disbelief. Very few had ever seen this outcome: a player beating a vision.

Leon did not react to the crowd. Another panel appeared.

Ding!

[Congratulations, Celestial. You have won ten matches in a row and have been judged worthy by the “Heavenly One”.]

[You shall be granted a reward befitting of this feat.]

The world shifted once more.

Leon found himself back in the dark void he had seen before, separated from the arena entirely.

He had done it. He had defeated the vision of [WyvernKing], something no one in the [Lower Domain] had ever achieved yet.

Leon could not help but wonder.

If this was WyvernKing at level 36, just how terrifying must he have been at level 50?

The thought lingered briefly, but Leon did not dwell on it. Instead, another panel appeared.

Ding!

[Because you proved yourself worthy, a “vision” of yourself will be added to the “Myriad Arena”.]

[Any challenger who reaches their tenth match may face it.]

Leon raised an eyebrow.

“Oh?”

He had not expected that. Still, it made sense. Defeating a vision meant becoming one.

Over time, this would only make the tenth match harder and harder. As centuries passed, only the strongest players would remain as visions, turning the final challenge into something nearly impossible for most.

Leon did not mind. He doubted anyone would defeat his vision.

Then, another panel appeared.

Ding!

[You have received the “Affinity Skill Book (Mythical)”.]

Leon grinned.

’Bingo,’ he thought. ’That was exactly what I needed.’
