Chapter 98: The Myriad Arena’s Tenth Match, WyvernKing’s Vision

Chapter 98: Chapter 98: The Myriad Arena’s Tenth Match, WyvernKing’s Vision

Leon continued moving from one match to the next without slowing down.

There was no tension, no hesitation, and no sense of danger.

Every battle ended the same way: a single spell or a single skill. Sometimes even a casual swing of his weapon. That was all it took.

His opponents never stood a chance.

Some tried to rush him the moment the fight began. Others attempted to prepare defenses, activate buffs, or use clever positioning.

A few even tried to talk, hoping to intimidate him or stall for time.

None of it mattered. Leon crushed them all.

Fire consumed some before they could take three steps. Shadows swallowed others whole.

A handful were cut down so fast they did not even understand what had happened.

The arena cycled again and again, and each time, Leon emerged untouched.

Eventually, the familiar sound echoed once more.

Ding!

[You have won your ninth match.]

Leon let out a small breath and smiled. This was it.

The next battle would be the last one.

So far, nothing had even come close to pushing him. Not once had he felt pressured or forced to adapt.

The [Heavenly One] clearly tried to slow players down by increasing the level and strength of opponents with every victory, filtering out those who were not worthy.

For most players, that worked. For Leon, it did nothing.

His strength simply existed on a different level. Then, another panel appeared.

Ding!

[You will now face a “vision” of one of the strongest players that ever fought in the “Myriad Arena” for your tenth match.]

Leon’s eyes sharpened. This was the real challenge. This was the wall that stopped nearly everyone.

Countless level 50 players had reached this point in the past, only to fail here. Some never returned to the arena again after experiencing what awaited them.

A new prompt appeared.

[Do you wish to go through your tenth match?]

[Yes] [Opposite of no.]

Leon did not answer immediately.

His [Celestial] title continued to work passively, but he pushed the panel aside. There was something he wanted to confirm first.

“I want to spectate [Saintess],” Leon said calmly.

Fwoosh!

The darkness around him shifted, and a large translucent panel appeared in front of him. It displayed another arena.

Emilia was there. Just as Leon expected, she was already on her ninth match as well.

The moment the battle began, the system announced it.

[Battle start.]

Emilia did not wait.

Divine Beam!

A blinding pillar of light erupted from her scepter and shot forward instantly.

BOOM!

The beam struck her opponent head-on. There was no resistance.

The opponent was erased in a single moment, their form completely annihilated by the overwhelming holy power.

Leon watched quietly, his expression calm.

Emilia’s base spirit attribute was already absurd at 6,075. That alone placed her far above most players in the Lower Domain.

Then came the [Magic Saint] title. It multiplied her spirit by five.

That meant every single spell she cast carried 30,375 spirit.

No level 50 tank could survive that kind of output. Even many of the strongest monsters Leon knew in the Lower Domain would be reduced to nothing by a direct hit.

Leon knew something else as well. Even he would not be able to take that attack head-on.

Thankfully, his agility and combat instincts gave him ways to avoid it entirely.

Still, the sheer power was terrifying.

Ding!

[Saintess has won her ninth match.]

The arena Emilia stood in was now almost completely full.

Thousands of players filled the stands, drawn by the rare sight of someone approaching the tenth match.

Leon’s own arena was filling up in the same way.

“Good,” Leon said quietly as he closed the panel.

He felt no worry for her. If anything, Emilia would clear her tenth match more easily than most.

“As for me,” Leon muttered, “we will see.”

He brought the panel back into focus and selected [Yes]. The world shifted.

In the next instant, Leon was standing in the Myriad Arena once more.

This time, the difference was overwhelming. Every seat in the massive arena was filled.

Thousands upon thousands of players stared down at him. Their voices blended together into a constant roar of excitement, anticipation, and tension.

“It has been so long since someone challenged this!”

“The tenth match again. I heard almost nobody clears it.”

“How do you even beat those monsters? It makes no sense.”

Leon ignored the noise.

He had once stood among these spectators himself in his past life. He remembered the feeling clearly.

Watching challengers get crushed by beings that did not feel like players at all.

Because this final match was different. It was not against another player. It was against a vision.

A recreation of one of the strongest individuals who had ever entered the [Myriad Arena].

Only players who completely dominated the arena and earned the acknowledgment of the [Heavenly One] were turned into visions.

Facing one was the final trial. And this time, Leon was eager to see who he was going to face among all of them.

Ding!

[Opponent: WyvernKing]

Leon’s pupils tightened.

“Oh,” he muttered. “That is bad.”

WyvernKing was one of the worst possible opponents Leon could have faced.

In his past life, Leon had only learned of three Eternal-Level worlds. Each of them produced monsters in human form.

The first was [Fated Star], home to the “Fated Race” with their nine lives, and also the three terrifying individuals Leon encountered in the [Novice Divine Temple].

The second was [Ember]. A world dominated by draconic beings.

Players from Ember were absurdly powerful by default. Wyverns, dragons, and other draconic races possessed innate strength, durability, and combat instincts that far surpassed normal races.

Most players from Eternal-Level Worlds had already moved on to the [Eternal Domain] though.

WyvernKing was no exception, as he was already far ahead.

It was simply that his vision was still here after all these years. An extremely strong player from [Ember], though far from the strongest.

In Leon’s past life, he commanded an entire army of wyverns, and his name carried weight.

Leon’s gaze locked onto the figure before him.

[ID: WyvernKing]

[Level: 36]

[Talent: ???]

[Skills: ???]

[Combat Power: 128,000]

Leon felt a flicker of surprise, even though he already knew.

This was WyvernKing’s combat power at the time he cleared the [Myriad Arena].

Level 36, and a combat power of 128,000.

That number alone was enough to crush most challengers mentally.

Among Eternal-Level world players, this was a rather good performance too.

Most players would see this and immediately give up. Some would leave the arena permanently, never daring to try again.

Leon did not move. His first thought was simple:

’Emilia would beat him.’ The second followed immediately, ’So should I.’

WyvernKing stood silently, clad in elegant draconic armor that shimmered faintly. Two swords formed from wyvern scales rested in his hands, their edges sharp and heavy with power.

As a vision, he showed no emotion. His purpose was singular: defeat the challenger.

[Battle start!]

The crowd erupted. Many cheered for WyvernKing, eager to see another player crushed by a legend.

Fwoosh!

WyvernKing moved. The distance between them vanished instantly.

His speed was overwhelming, far beyond what most players expected from someone wielding heavy blades.

Both swords came down in a deadly arc, aimed to end the fight immediately.

CLANG!

Leon sidestepped the first strike with ease and deflected the second with his sword. The impact echoed through the arena.

A grin spread across Leon’s face.

“I wonder,” he said quietly, “if you are affected by [Celestial’s Might] too.”

WyvernKing did not even react. Leon shifted his stance.

Fwoosh… SLASH!

Leon swung his blade forward, aiming straight at the vision before him.

He was ready to see what would happen next.

A/N

All these eternal-level world players will be important in the future, just wanted to say that.
