Chapter 96: The Crimson Egg’s Shockwave, To The Myriad Arena

Chapter 96: Chapter 96: The Crimson Egg’s Shockwave, To The Myriad Arena

It was currently night in [Myriad Race City], and just like Leon expected, nightfall did not mean silence. It meant entertainment.

Lights of every color filled the streets, magical lanterns floating in the air and crystal lamps embedded into buildings.

Music echoed from taverns and open halls, mixed with laughter, shouting, and the constant hum of movement.

Players from every possible race wandered through the streets without restraint, and their levels varied wildly.

Leon noticed level 30 players eagerly talking to level 50 veterans, asking for advice or guidance.

Others had small stalls set up on the side of the road, selling weapons, armor, potions, and strange materials harvested from dangerous zones.

Some were bargaining loudly, while others simply observed, eyes sharp and cautious.

Many players chose to remain in the [Lower Domain] for a long time, and this city was the reason.

As long as someone was strong enough, boredom simply did not exist here.

There was always something happening. There was always someone stronger to learn from or someone weaker to dominate.

Of course, danger existed beyond the city walls.

The lands surrounding [Myriad Race City] were filled with deadly monsters and unpredictable zones.

But those dangers were optional. The city itself was a sanctuary of sorts, chaotic but controlled.

Leon decided it would be best to take a short break.

Not because he felt tired, and not because Emilia looked exhausted, but because caution mattered.

Fatigue could appear at the worst possible moment, especially in battle. Resting ahead of time was always the smarter option.

There was also something else on his mind.

He wanted to show Emilia the [Primordial Dragon of Chaos] egg.

He wanted to see if her talent could perceive anything unusual about it. Even if nothing happened, it was still worth trying.

As they walked toward the row of inns scattered across the city, the atmosphere around them shifted slightly.

The streets grew livelier, and the type of entertainment became more obvious.

“Hey there, handsome~”

A rabbit-eared girl stepped directly into Leon’s path, her long ears twitching slightly as she smiled brightly.

Her outfit was revealing, clearly designed to draw attention.

“If you want, we have several services available tonight, and I promise you will not regret it.”

“Not interested,” Leon replied without slowing down. “Find someone else.”

He continued walking, Emilia right beside him.

“Tch. Rude,” the rabbit-eared girl muttered as she crossed her arms.

Leon did not even glance back.

After a few seconds, Emilia tilted her head slightly, realization dawning on her face.

“Wait,” she said, “was that one of those places?”

“Yes,” Leon replied with a small grin. “And I do not need that kind of thing. It is a waste of time. I want to show you something instead.”

Emilia smiled warmly and leaned slightly closer to him.

“Plus, you have me,” she said playfully.

Leon paused for half a second, “…Sure.”

They continued walking through the city, taking in the sights.

After around ten minutes, Leon and Emilia finally found a quiet inn that looked sturdy and well maintained.

The sign outside glowed softly, and unlike the louder taverns, this place seemed focused on rest rather than celebration.

They stepped inside and rented a room without trouble.

Once inside, Leon made sure to lock the door carefully.

He closed the windows and activated the basic privacy barrier provided by the inn.

Only when he was certain no one could see or sense them did he relax.

“Take a look,” Leon said calmly.

He reached into his system inventory and pulled out the crimson egg of the [Primordial Dragon of Chaos].

The egg glowed faintly, its surface etched with strange patterns that looked almost alive.

The moment it appeared in the room though, everything changed.

BOOM!

A terrifying pulse of aura erupted from the egg, exploding outward like a shockwave.

The air trembled violently, and the walls shook as if struck by an invisible force. The pressure was overwhelming, filled with chaos and dominance.

Leon’s eyes widened in shock.

“Oh shit!”

He reacted instantly, shoving the egg back into his system inventory.

The aura vanished just as suddenly as it appeared, leaving behind a heavy silence.

“I hope you saw that,” Leon muttered.

Emilia stood frozen in place, her eyes wide.

“What the hell was that thing?” she whispered. “That was a beast egg…”

“Did you see the status window?” Leon asked quickly.

“It appeared in front of me,” Emilia replied, swallowing hard.

She focused on the invisible panel, reading carefully.

A few seconds passed, and her expression shifted from confusion to disbelief.

“How did you even find something like this?” she whispered. “This is insane.”

“Second assessment,” Leon replied with a grin. “And as expected, do not talk about it. I will only show it this once.”

“Alright,” Emilia nodded seriously. “But the [Hatching Time]… it is absurd. Even elves do not live that long.”

“Lifespan in [Eternal Ascension] works differently,” Leon explained. “If the circumstances are right, we can live for hundreds of thousands of years.”

“Wow…”

Leon had only lived fifteen years in this world so far, but he knew the truth.

There were players who had existed for centuries. The gods themselves were effectively immortal, untouched by time.

His goal was not just power for the sake of power.

He wanted to grow strong so that he and his companions could live freely in this world. No fear. No chains.

No matter how dangerous [Eternal Ascension] was, it also held wonders beyond imagination.

“We can rest for now,” Leon said. “After that, if you want, we can visit the [Myriad Arena] before heading out.”

“The [Myriad Arena]?” Emilia’s eyes sparkled instantly. “Now you have my attention.”

Leon’s ID was already known throughout the [Lower Domain].

Hiding forever was impossible. Sooner or later, players would seek him out.

The [Myriad Arena] was the perfect place for that. Players could fight freely to test their abilities, and more importantly, he could hide his ID inside.

Meanwhile, outside the inn, chaos erupted.

Guards rushed through the streets, weapons drawn.

Players stopped what they were doing, looking around warily. Some activated defensive spells, while others prepared to flee.

The aura explosion had been felt across large portions of the city.

No one could have guessed that the source was a single unhatched egg.

Leon frowned slightly as he thought about it. The egg still had over 4,000 years left before hatching.

If it could cause such a disturbance now, what kind of monster would emerge when it finally hatched?

After around an hour of resting, talking, and eating a simple meal, Leon and Emilia left the inn.

Instead of heading out of the city, Leon led Emilia deeper inside.

“Our goal is simple,” Leon explained as they walked. “Win ten matches in a row. It might get harder, but we will get a very good reward. After that, we can leave.”

“Alright,” Emilia nodded confidently.

The deeper they went, the more crowded the streets became.

Eventually, they reached a massive gate standing in the middle of the city.

The structure was enormous, carved with ancient symbols and glowing faintly with divine energy.

Tens of thousands of players gathered around it.

“Is that…” Emilia began.

“The [Myriad Arena],” Leon said with a grin. “One of the most popular places in this city.”

Players entered and exited constantly, excitement written on their faces.

Some looked confident. Others looked defeated.

Leon and Emilia approached the gate, blending into the crowd.

No one paid them any attention. There were simply too many people.

“Once we enter, we will be separated,” Leon said. “Just focus on winning ten matches in a row. That is all. I believe in you.”

“I got this,” Emilia said proudly. “No mercy.”

Leon smiled slightly.

Truthfully, he had nothing to worry about. Emilia was absurdly strong.

Her spells alone could annihilate most opponents before they even had a chance to react, and even if they dodged, how could they even hope to harm her?

And so, without hesitation, the two stepped through the gate.

Ding!
