Chapter 61: Giving Materials to Emilia, Dropping Items
Chapter 61: Chapter 61: Giving Materials to Emilia, Dropping Items
Leon collected the drops from the [Moon Bears] without much thought at first.
Then he noticed something strange.
A few of the items didn’t disappear into his [Storage Space]. Instead, they fell to the ground at his feet.
Before he could react, a familiar sound rang out.
Ding!
[Your “Storage Space” is full. Please free space or spend 10,000 Eternal Coins to add 10 slots.]
“…Ah, right.”
Leon let out a quiet sigh. Since he hadn’t sold anything to a blacksmith yet, it made sense.
Even after expanding his storage earlier, the constant stream of loot from grinding had finally caught up to him.
And worse, even ten extra slots hadn’t been enough.
Leon frowned slightly and opened his [Storage Space], scrolling through its contents.
Weapons, armor, materials, everything was neatly categorized, but it was obvious what the real problem was: materials.
They took up far more space than equipment or consumables, and he had been hoarding them without a second thought.
’Do I really need to hold all of this myself?’ he wondered.
Probably not. Leon turned toward Emilia.
“Emilia,” he said, “can you hold some things in your storage space? Mine’s full.”
“FULL?!” Emilia nearly shouted. Her eyes widened in disbelief. “Mine only has like twenty slots taken! How is yours already full?!”
Leon shrugged and gave her a grin. “Hint about my talent. Use it wisely.”
“…Damn.”
She stared at him for a moment, then shook her head in amazement.
Leon began transferring items over, mostly materials. Things like [Dark Tree Branch], [Poison Fangs], [Howled Wolf Claw], and several others vanished from his storage and reappeared in hers.
Normally, no one ever did this. Even trusted allies rarely exchanged items freely.
Betrayal was common in [Eternal Ascension], and storage theft was one of the most painful ways to lose progress.
But Leon didn’t hesitate. He trusted Emilia.
And more importantly, he felt like he knew her character well enough to be sure she wouldn’t betray him over a few materials.
As her storage space filled up, Emilia tilted her head and smiled mischievously.
“So your talent is item-related~” she said. “Only a bit more and I’ll figure it out.”
“At this point,” Leon replied calmly, “I’m surprised you haven’t already.”
“Tch.” Emilia clicked her tongue, then glared at him playfully. “Damn it.”
She quickly returned to her usual composed expression.
With space freed up, Leon turned his attention back to the loot from the [Moon Bears].
[Moon Bear Essence x7: Consuming increases Constitution by 6 and Spirit by 4.]
[Moon Bear Fur x7 (Rare Material)]
“Nice.”
He stored everything properly this time and paused, scanning through the rest of his inventory.
Some items stood out, for the wrong reasons.
’I don’t need these anymore,’ Leon thought.
Things like the [Novice Machete (Common)] and the [Shadow Necklace +2 (Common)] had once been useful. Now, they were nothing but clutter.
They were too weak to sell. Too worthless to trade.
And listing trash items on the [Trading House] would only damage his reputation.
People followed his profile expecting quality. Seeing common junk would make them think twice before checking his listings again.
So Leon did the simplest thing. He discarded them.
The items vanished without ceremony, freeing even more space.
He then consumed five of the [Moon Bear Essence] without hesitation and handed the remaining two to Emilia.
She accepted them with a nod, clearly aware of their value.
Essences weren’t rare for Leon anyway. With his drop rate, he was bound to keep getting them.
Ding!
[+30 Constitution, +20 Spirit.]
“Perfect.”
They resumed moving forward, pushing deeper into the region.
The monsters didn’t stop coming.
[Moon Bears], [Lunar Boars], [Moon Sentinels], anything that wandered too close was swiftly dealt with.
Leon’s attacks were precise and efficient, while Emilia provided powerful support from behind.
Several hours passed quickly in battle.
And then—
Ding!
[Congratulations, you have leveled up to Level 16!]
[Due to “Heaven’s Blessing”, you have gained 100 points to all attributes and 100 free points to distribute.]
Leon felt a surge of strength course through his body as his stats increased across the board.
His combat power jumped noticeably. And that wasn’t all.
Thanks to the essences he had consumed earlier, his attributes rose even further.
Ding!
[+103 Constitution, +58 Strength, +138 Spirit, +32 Agility.]
Leon exhaled slowly, enjoying the feeling of growth. Then he spoke.
“Put all my free points into [Spirit].”
The system responded instantly, dumping another two hundred points into his Spirit stat.
He still hadn’t allocated the free points he received upon reaching level fifteen, so everything stacked together cleanly.
With that done, Leon opened his status panel and glanced at his [Combat Power].
And he couldn’t stop the grin that spread across his face.
[Combat Power: 12,768 (+22,602)]
He had crossed thirty-five thousand combat power.
That alone should be enough to fight the [Moon Sect General] head-on.
But Leon wasn’t satisfied. Not yet.
If he wanted a real chance inside the [Blood Moon Cathedral], he needed more. Forty thousand at minimum, preferably higher.
He had no idea what awaited him in there. And ignorance was dangerous.
Leon reviewed the additional loot he’d gained during the grind.
[Moon Sentinel Spear x12 (Elite)]
[Lunar Tusks x15 (Epic)]
[Moon Bear Fur x17 (Rare)]
Nothing exceptional. Useful materials, but nothing that changed his plans.
He stored them and refocused on his surroundings.
By now, they had moved quite far from [Moon City], but the monster levels hadn’t increased much.
The region was crowded with players doing exactly what Leon was doing: grinding levels, hoping for good drops before the event started.
The atmosphere was tense but energetic.
Then—
“Back away!”
Leon turned sharply.
A group of dwarves came rushing toward them from the opposite direction, faces pale with panic.
They were barely a meter tall, but their bodies were dense with muscle, and each of them carried heavy weapons forged from dark metal.
Intermediate-level world players.
“Everyone below level twenty!” the leader shouted. “Run! It’s coming!”
Some players didn’t question it. They turned and ran immediately.
Others hesitated, curiosity getting the better of them.
Leon narrowed his eyes and looked past the dwarves.
Then—
BOOM!
The ground shook violently.
A massive explosion tore through the clearing ahead as black mist surged outward, swallowing the place.
From within the darkness, a towering figure rose.
Heavy armor. A massive blade. And an aura that crushed the air itself.
Leon activated [Appraisal].
—
[Dark Moon Knight (Mutated Boss)]
[Level: 20]
[Talents: Vessel of Darkness (B-Level), Strength Enhancement (D-Level)]
[Combat Power: 30,000]
—
The moment the information appeared, Leon’s breath slowed.
Around him, players who couldn’t even see the panel felt it too. Fear spread instantly.
Even without numbers, the pressure alone was overwhelming.
A mutated boss. Under the [Blood Moon].
This wasn’t something ordinary players were meant to fight.
Leon tightened his grip on his sword. Then his staff.
His eyes burned with focus.
’Two talents,’ he thought, and a slow, dangerous smile formed on his lips, ’I want them.’
