Chapter 49: Farlands Token, Selling Items

Chapter 49: Chapter 49: Farlands Token, Selling Items

“The Farlands?” Leon muttered quietly as he summoned the small [Farlands Token] into his palm.

The token floated just above his hand. It was a dull green color, slightly translucent, with a strange distorted symbol carved into its surface.

The symbol didn’t resemble any rune or language Leon recognized.

It twisted unnaturally, almost as if it didn’t belong in the same space as everything else.

Leon stared at it for a moment. Of course, he knew what [Tokens] and [Keys] were.

In [Eternal Ascension], items like these often granted access to secret zones, hidden dungeons, or special instances that couldn’t be reached through normal means.

Some were tied to quests, others to events, and a few were so rare that most players would never even see one.

But the [Farlands]? That was new.

Leon searched his memory carefully. In his past life, he had learned about countless dungeons, ruins, and forbidden zones within the [Lower Domain].

Yet no matter how hard he tried, the name didn’t ring any bells. That alone was unsettling.

The system itself had clearly stated that the [Farlands] was the most difficult dungeon in the entire [Lower Domain].

That wasn’t just a casual description. If it labeled something as the hardest, then it truly was at the absolute peak of danger.

Which meant one thing: Leon wasn’t touching it anytime soon.

At the very least, he would need to reach level 50. And even then, it wouldn’t be something he entered lightly.

He would need perfect preparation, top-tier equipment, and absolute confidence in his strength.

Leon clenched his fingers and dismissed the token, storing it safely back into his inventory.

That thing would wait. For now.

He turned his head slightly and glanced to the side.

Emilia was standing nearby, her focus completely locked onto her [Storage Space].

Her expression kept shifting between excitement and surprise as she scrolled through the items she had received from her treasure chest.

They weren’t the only ones. All around them, players who had survived the event were doing the same.

Some looked relieved. Others looked stunned. A few were laughing quietly to themselves, while many simply sat on the ground, too exhausted to even stand properly.

Almost everyone had received some form of reward.

Treasure chests of different grades had appeared for those who ranked decently, and even players who barely contributed still got something small.

Still, Leon knew one thing for certain. His rewards were on a completely different level.

While everyone else was busy inspecting their loot, Leon decided not to waste any time.

He started using his items immediately.

First, he pulled out the [Advanced All-Attributes Pill]. Without hesitation, he consumed it.

The pill dissolved the moment it entered his mouth, releasing a powerful surge of energy that rushed through his entire body.

Leon felt heat spread through his limbs, his muscles tightening as his bones and veins strengthened.

Every single attribute increased by 75. The boost was immediate and noticeable.

Leon exhaled slowly, steadying himself as the sensation faded.

Next, he moved on to the sub-talent scrolls. He had already planned this part carefully.

He summoned the two new sub-talents he had acquired and brought them together with the ones he already possessed.

“Fuse,” Leon said calmly.

The system responded instantly.

[Fusion successful.]

Leon’s eyes narrowed slightly.

Then—

[Fusion successful.]

Both worked.

Ding!

[You have evolved “Constitution Enhancement (E-Level)” to “Constitution Enhancement (D-Level)”]

Ding!

[You have evolved “Strength Enhancement (F-Level)” to “Strength Enhancement (E-Level)”]

Leon immediately checked the updated descriptions.

[Constitution Enhancement (D-Level): Permanently increases constitution by 30%.]

[Strength Enhancement (E-Level): Permanently increases strength by 20%.]

A slow smile formed on his face. This was a massive improvement.

His strength attribute was already his highest stat, and boosting it by another 20% pushed his physical power even further ahead.

Combined with the constitution increase, his survivability and damage output both jumped significantly.

He was becoming more unbalanced, in the best way possible.

After that, Leon took out the [Shadow Slash] skill book.

He inspected it carefully.

[Shadow Slash (Legendary): Blend into the shadows for 30 seconds then strike at an enemy with a powerful darkness-based attack. Requirement: Level 15.]

Leon nodded slightly.

“I’ll use it later,” he thought.

It was a powerful skill, but without meeting the level requirement, there was no point rushing it.

Next came equipment.

Most of the items he had obtained, both from the monsters and the treasure chest, had a level 15 requirement. He was close, but not there yet.

Still, there were a few pieces he could use immediately.

Leon equipped the [Elemental Necklace (Mythical)] first.

To do that, he had to remove his [Purple Jade Necklace (Rare)].

The defensive effect of the jade necklace had served him well until now, but with [Darkness Barrier] at his disposal, he no longer relied on passive defense as much as before.

The offensive boost from the mythical necklace was far more valuable.

Then he turned his attention to his weapon. He pulled out the [Undead Sword +3 (Uncommon)].

[Undead Sword +3 (Uncommon): +1,100 Attack, +700 Strength, +200 Agility. Requirement: Level 14.]

Leon didn’t hesitate.

This sword was significantly better than the [Sword of Darkness +4] he had been using. The increase in attack and strength alone made the choice obvious.

He equipped it immediately.

A familiar weight settled into his hand, but the balance felt even better than before.

As for the remaining items, Leon planned to equip them all the moment he reached level 15. That wouldn’t take long.

“I’m done,” Emilia said with a grin as she finally looked up. “I got a few [Stamina Potions], some skill stones and enhancement stones, an [Intermediate All-Attributes Pill], and… a new support-type skill!”

“A support skill?” Leon raised an eyebrow.

“Yeah,” Emilia said, clearly pleased. “It’s called [Speed Buff]. It boosts agility.”

Leon was genuinely surprised.

Support skills were extremely valuable, especially ones that enhanced movement and attack speed. The fact that Emilia had gotten one so early was a big advantage.

“That’s good,” Leon said honestly.

Emilia hadn’t reached level 14 yet, but she was extremely close. With just a bit more grinding, she’d get there.

“Should we head back?” she asked. “Or do you need more time to sort things out? You probably got way more items than I did.”

“I’m done,” Leon replied calmly. “I still need to use the [Skill Stones] and [Enhancement Stones], but I’ll do that later.”

Then he remembered something else: he still had free attribute points.

Leon opened his status panel.

[Free Points to Allocate: 200.]

Without hesitation, he spoke his choice aloud.

“100 in Spirit and 100 in Agility.”

The points distributed instantly. Leon then checked his [Combat Power]. His eyes widened.

[Combat Power: 9,532 (+13,486)]

Leon’s mouth fell open slightly. He had already surpassed 20,000 combat power. And he wasn’t stopping there.

These were numbers that even level 20 to 25 players struggled to reach.

Yet Leon was only level 14. Still, he knew this wasn’t enough. Not for the future he was aiming for.

’I’ll need to help Emilia get stronger,’ Leon thought. ’And the others too, once they arrive.’

That was precisely why he had kept many of the valuable items in his storage instead of selling everything immediately.

Strength wasn’t something he wanted to monopolize alone.

Together, Leon and Emilia returned to [Hub City].

The city was filled with exhausted players. Some leaned against walls. Others sat on the ground. Complaints and discussions echoed everywhere.

“Damn it, that event was brutal.”

“I almost died three times…”

“That [Celestial] guy completely dominated everything…”

As Leon entered the city, many heads turned. Players recognized him instantly. Whispers spread.

Some rushed toward him, excitement and greed clear in their eyes, asking him to join their party or guild.

Leon declined all of them with a simple shake of his head. He didn’t plan on joining any group.

Still, Leon wasn’t about to waste this opportunity.

“I’m putting a lot of items up for sale in the [Trading House]!” he shouted, his voice carrying across the area. “Check my ID if you’re interested!”

People froze for a moment. Then curiosity kicked in.

Leon immediately listed multiple items for sale, including several [Darkness Fur Boots +3], [Undead Knight Armor], [Sword of Darkness +4], and even a [Sub-Talent Scroll: Darkness Control (D-Level)].

At first, players didn’t expect much.

But the moment they opened the [Trading House] and saw what “Celestial” was selling… Their jaws dropped wide.
