Chapter 477: Using Void Detonation, The Soul Soldier’s Items [1]

After exactly five seconds, the sphere of void energy reached its peak, which was roughly twice the size of a soccer ball, its surface rippling with power.

The darkness within it was absolute, a perfect void that seemed to hunger for everything around it.

Remembering the description of the skill, and what the Void King did before, Leon smiled faintly before swinging his staff upward, which sent the void sphere flying upward into the air.

It lingered there for a second, and after losing its momentum, it fell down toward Leon, its descent slow and deliberate, as if the void itself was savoring the moment.

Seeing it drop, Celeste, Violet and Emilia quickly backed away, their eyes fixed on the sphere, their bodies tensed for what was to come.

At the same time, the Soul Soldier seemed to have finally managed to survive Celeste’s attack, its body slowly recovering as the cracks in its soul stabilized.

It got up slowly, holding its sword tight as it prepared to strike Leon’s soul directly to permanently kill him, its gaze filled with hatred and desperation.

It knew this was its last chance, its final opportunity to take down the ones who had caused it so much pain.

As it got up, Leon noticed that the Soul Soldier’s soul was still fully cracked, one more attack and it would break, but still, it was saved for now, its protection holding.

’Yes, you can still survive even with a cracked soul, though it seems that Soul Protection also has a limit to how much it can save you,’ Leon observed, ’Good to know as I’ll have it soon.’

Regardless, the Soul Soldier rushed forward, swinging its sword at the human before it.

But, right before it could reach him... Leon simply lifted his weapon, and as the void sphere reached his chest, he swung his sword to hit the void sphere with it, sending it flying toward the Soul Soldier.

"See ya," Leon smiled right as the void sphere connected with the monster, his voice calm and confident.

Fwoosh!

He used the Abyss Teleportation’s rift to teleport away from the impact zone, his body vanishing into the wormhole just in time.

And instantly...

BOOM!

There was a giant explosion as the skill took effect, the entire space in a 50x50x50 meters radius exploding as everything within it was consumed by the void, the darkness swallowing all in its path.

And so once the dark mist faded and they were able to see, all that remained where the void sphere hit was a giant crater, its depths seemingly endless, the earth itself scarred by the power of the void.

And inside the crater remained nothing of the Soul Soldier except for a few parts of its armor and head, as well as silver shards from its soul that faded away, disappearing into the wind.

It seemed like the Void couldn’t simply take an entire being that wasn’t dead, but since the Soul Soldier was on the verge of death, most of it was taken, leaving only a few parts of its corpse lying there.

"D-Did.... we do it?" Emilia’s eyes widened as she gazed at the crater, "Holy...!"

"Well, that was something," Violet sat down and took a deep breath, "I don’t want to fight for at least a week after this."

"Also, we stopped it from destroying the Requiem Stronghold..." Celeste mumbled, "I wonder what that’s gonna result in."

Cavin and the Requiem Guild’s members fully expected for their stronghold to be destroyed as the Soul Soldier was impossible to kill. Especially after their initial plan had failed, forcing them to let it do whatever it wanted.

But now, even though there was a lot of damage, it was mainly in the Requiem Plaza, which was only a small chunk of the stronghold, the rest of the city still standing.

Basically, Leon and the group managed to save hundreds of thousands of lives, their actions preventing a catastrophe that would have echoed across the domain.

But more than anything, the one thing that Leon wanted was right before his eyes, the notification he had been waiting for.

’Here we go!’ Leon thought, his heart racing with excitement.

That was a lot of experience points, but thankfully, Leon still needed roughly another 75,000,000 to level up to 100, so he knew he had more than enough time.

There were seven new items inside of his storage space, and he pulled them out one by one before everybody’s gaze, each one glowing with a different color and radiating a powerful aura.

"Wow!"

"Holy!"

"That’s pretty good..."

Even without seeing the descriptions, the girls could feel from the sheer aura alone that these would be amazing, the power emanating from them enough to make the air feel heavy.

And so he started inspecting them one by one, his eyes scanning each item with practiced efficiency.

"Just like the Void King’s Essence," Leon mumbled, "Good."

In comparison to the Void King’s Essence which would kill you normally though, this one would shatter your soul, meaning permanent death with no chance of revival.

This also meant that the risk was far higher, though also meaning the reward must also be worth it, the potential gain far outweighing the danger.

Fortunately for Leon, he had just the thing to allow him to use this essence, as it was the next item in line.

There was a sense of relief pouring through Leon as he saw the item, because although he knew the item would for sure appear, seeing it in person made him really understand that this could change everything.

A normal player didn’t have the ability to protect their souls normally, but with this, he was far above the rest not only in skill and combat power, but even if someone tried to attack his soul, they would fail.

Regardless, Leon kept looking through the items, as they were still extremely powerful.
