Chapter 360: Emilia and Celeste’s Training, One Month of Growth

Leon watched as Emilia and Celeste fought their respective opponents in their training fields.

His eyes were tracking their every movement with careful attention, analyzing their techniques and noting their improvements.

And indeed, they had gotten significantly stronger during his month-long absence from their side.

Emilia’s control over her spells had reached a phenomenal level compared to before, her casting speed and precision having improved dramatically through hours of daily practice.

Leon could also see that she would improve even further with better equipment to complement her natural talents and amplify her already impressive magical output.

’I’ll have to find a new scepter, robe and such for her,’ Leon thought, already making mental notes of what she would need and where he might acquire such items.

The most interesting fact was that none of Emilia’s skills were particularly high level, all of them being level 1 to level 3 at best, which seemed low for someone of her power and potential.

It was simply that her [Spirit] was so goddamn high that it made all of the skill levels largely irrelevant, allowing her to strike even level 95 enemies down in one or two spells without much effort, the raw power compensating for the lack of skill development.

She had around 3.5 million combat power now thanks to all her level-ups, a significant increase from where she had been before.

But of course, since most of her combat power was concentrated in her [Spirit] and [Constitution], it meant she could still deal fatal damage to enemies while also surviving some blows that would have killed many others, giving her a good balance of offense and defense.

Her [Strength] and [Agility] stats were ridiculously low though, which meant she was vulnerable to fast enemies who could close the distance before she could cast her spells.

"Take this," Emilia shouted as she lifted her scepter high into the air, her voice filled with determination and confidence.

Bone Shuffle!

The skill Leon had bought for her over a month ago, which she previously didn’t know how to use well, had now become incredibly strong and reliable.

After trial and error, she had managed to find the way she wanted to use it, shaping the bones to her will with precision and control, adapting the skill to her personal fighting style.

SWASH!

From the ground beneath the monster, a massive spike made out of bone erupted with explosive force, striking the monster straight through and impaling it completely, the creature letting out a pained cry as the bone pierced its body.

After a few seconds of struggling against the bone spike, the monster finally died, its body disintegrating into particles, allowing Emilia to claim victory in her training match with a satisfied smile.

"Phew..." she exhaled, wiping the invisible sweat from her forehead with the back of her hand.

’Pretty good,’ Leon nodded with a smile of approval, ’But with evolved skills, she’ll even be able to defeat level 100 monsters without too much trouble.’

Leon then turned to look at Celeste, who was fighting along with Pyra in her own field, the two of them working in perfect sync as they coordinated their attacks against the training monster.

The evolved phoenix pet immediately used [Flame Sharing], and a large amount of flames began to surround both it and Celeste, creating a protective aura of fire around them both that crackled with intensity.

But most interestingly, Celeste’s [Darkness Ember] dark flames also began to surround Pyra, merging with the phoenix’s own flames to create a terrifying combination of light and dark fire.

’She can transfer her [Embers] to her pet?’ Leon’s eyes widened with surprise, ’So does that mean she can also share other abilities with Pyra?’

TORRENT OF FLAMES!

Pyra immediately used one of her skills, and a massive pillar of dark and crimson flames rose from where the monster was standing, consuming it entirely in a blaze of power.

And since the darkness embers aimed directly at the soul itself, it was enough to instantly kill the monster, bypassing its physical defenses completely and leaving no chance for recovery.

’Incredible,’ Leon thought, genuinely impressed by what he had just witnessed, the synergy between Celeste and Pyra truly remarkable.

Leon felt like Celeste’s powers had just as much potential as Emilia’s due to the fact she could deal soul damage, a rare and devastating ability that few players ever acquired and that made her a dangerous opponent.

As said before, even Leon was vulnerable to soul attacks.

And even more so now that Pyra could also use those powers with [Flame Sharing], effectively doubling the effectiveness of her abilities and allowing for more complex strategies.

The two girls returned to Leon’s side after defeating their respective opponents, both of them beaming with pride at their accomplishments and eager to hear his feedback.

"Pretty good," Leon nodded with approval, "You both simply need your skills to level up, and for Emilia to consume some essences to boost her spirit and constitution even higher."

Leon felt like his companions were truly getting more and more ready for the [Eternal Battlefield] with each passing day, their growth steady and impressive.

He was confident they would be able to hold their own weight.

In the [Eternal Battlefield], every monster was level 100, but their powers and difficulty was still wildly different based on their specific abilities, so they needed to be prepared for anything and adaptable to any situation.

Their growth in power in there will be tremendous though, so it will be fine in the long run as long as they survived the initial stages and didn’t get overwhelmed.

In fact, Leon had gained the majority of his strength in his past life while he spent a long time in the eternal battlefield, so he knew exactly how valuable that experience would be for them.

"You’re not gonna attempt the [Impossible] monsters?" Celeste asked, tilting her head curiously at him.

"Hm..." Leon scratched his chin thoughtfully, considering the question carefully, "Not yet, but soon, I just mainly want to level up a little and grind for Emilia’s essences before I try anything else."

The trio thanked the lizard lady at the front desk and walked toward the [Training Ground]’s exit, ready to move on to other things and continue their journey.

But as they were walking through the crowded facility, they heard a massive commotion erupt from somewhere ahead of them, drawing their attention and making them pause.

"QUICK, SHE’S FIGHTING!" someone shouted excitedly, their voice carrying across the grounds.

"Calm down, the place is probably full already, we won’t be able to see anything through the crowd at this point..."

"But still, that’s the [Dragon Empress], we can’t miss it!"

Seeing the frenzy going on around them, with players rushing past them toward a specific field, Leon looked at the two girls with a questioning expression, "Wanna check it out?"

"Yes!" both of them said in unison, their eyes lighting up with curiosity and excitement.
