Chapter 165: Chapter 165: Entering the Divine Academy, To the Event Hall

Fwoosh! Ding!

[You have completed the “Divine Academy Examination” and have been accepted into “Divine Academy”]

[You are free to come or not, our main purpose is to help you enhance your powers and become useful =)]

“…Hm.”

Leon stared at the second line with a blank expression, his eyes lingering on the words for a few seconds.

Even someone who didn’t know anything about the gods could see that these guys had ulterior motives.

“This academy is weird,” Celeste said while crossing her arms, her brows slightly furrowed as she looked at where the message had been. “But everyone keeps saying it’s amazing and that it helps them increase their abilities really fast…”

Leon glanced at her with a faint grin, “Do you want to go?”

“Hm…”

Celeste thought about it for barely a second before shaking her head.

“Nah,” she replied casually. “I have a bad feeling about it, and I prefer to stay with you~”

“Alright.”

It seemed Celeste’s intuition wasn’t bad at all.

She could immediately tell that something about the academy felt suspicious.

Still, the two of them didn’t have much time to think about it.

Ding!

[You shall receive your rewards soon.]

The moment that final panel appeared before the hundred remaining players…

Fwoosh!

Their bodies instantly began dissolving into glowing particles.

The clearing, the trees, the battlefield of the examination, everything slowly disappeared as the teleportation effect swallowed them.

And after a few seconds…

Ding!

[You have arrived at “Divine Academy City”]

[Please enter the “Divine Academy” and listen to the chairman’s speech to claim your first place reward!]

Leon raised an eyebrow slightly as he read the new notification.

Celeste received a similar panel, except hers stated that she would receive the second place reward.

“Do we really need to?” she groaned, clearly not excited about the idea.

“Yeah,” Leon replied calmly.

He didn’t like it either, but missing out on a reward from an event like this would be a waste.

Considering how large and influential the academy was, the reward for first place was almost guaranteed to be something valuable.

“Let’s just get this over with.”

Fortunately, Leon and Celeste had one major advantage.

Even if something went wrong inside the academy… dying wasn’t actually that dangerous for them.

Celeste would revive after three days thanks to her phoenix-race nature.

And Leon had even more safety measures.

His [Life Vessel] title alone would resurrect him instantly on the spot if he died.

On top of that, he still possessed a [Resurrection Stone].

In other words, even if the academy tried something strange, they weren’t exactly risking everything.

“We’ll leave the moment we get our rewards,” Leon said as they began walking forward. “Then I want to check what’s inside the gate in the [Vine Plains].”

“Same,” Celeste nodded. “I was thinking about it the entire event.”

The mysterious gate had been on both of their minds for quite a while now.

But at that moment, Leon suddenly glanced at something else.

More precisely… his [World Map].

And even more specifically… The [Domain Travel] cooldown.

Beep!

[Domain Travel Cooldown: 7 Hours 51 Minutes 46 Seconds.]

“Hm.”

Leon thought about it for a moment.

Since the Divine Academy event had lasted around twelve hours, that meant the cooldown had already been reduced quite a lot.

If his guess was correct, by the time they finished investigating the [Ancient Gate] in the [Vine Plains], the cooldown would probably be over.

Which meant he would finally be able to travel again, to [Higher Domain #3].

That was where Emilia currently was.

He hadn’t seen her since they entered the [Higher Domains], and he was curious about what she was doing.

He was also eager to see what was in [Higher Domain #3] as the areas there would be much more different.

And once he was done, he still planned to get back to [Higher Domain #1].

’I also want to go back to [Higher Domain #54],’ Leon thought, ’It’s the one I know best among them all.’

Unfortunately, the biggest limitation right now was the one-day cooldown on [Domain Travel].

’I wonder if there’s a way to reduce it,’ Leon thought quietly.

Maybe there were items or titles capable of shortening the cooldown.

Or perhaps some hidden mechanic within the system.

Traveling between domains using the “normal” method was also possible, but that process was more complicated.

For now though, Leon pushed those thoughts aside and looked around.

He, Celeste, and the rest of the top one hundred players had appeared in the massive square directly in front of the academy.

The players who had been eliminated earlier in the event had been teleported somewhere outside the city.

The square was still lively, but noticeably less crowded than before.

Several players were already discussing the event, some celebrating their placements while others complained about their losses.

Leon ignored all of them.

His eyes focused on the massive structure standing ahead: the [Divine Academy].

The building itself was enormous, towering high above the surrounding structures with white stone walls and golden decorations covering the exterior.

Large pillars lined the entrance, giving the entire place an imposing and almost sacred atmosphere.

Without hesitation, Leon began walking toward it.

Celeste followed right beside him. They soon reached the entrance.

But unlike the first time he had tried to enter…

Ding!

[You are allowed to enter the “Divine Academy”]

“Hm.”

The barrier that had blocked Leon previously was gone.

He stepped forward without hesitation.

“See, wasn’t so hard, was it?”

A familiar voice suddenly sounded beside him.

Leon slowly turned his head.

Standing there with a wide smile was the same teacher he had encountered earlier: Alikar.

The man who had previously threatened him.

This time though, Alikar’s attitude had completely changed.

“I didn’t expect you to be this strong, Celestial,” he said with a grin. “You are welcome here anytime.”

“Sure…” Leon replied flatly.

He didn’t bother continuing the conversation.

Instead, he simply turned around and walked forward, completely ignoring the man.

Celeste leaned slightly closer to Leon as they stepped inside the academy.

“What’s his problem?” she whispered.

“Don’t know,” Leon replied calmly. “But he isn’t a good guy.”

He paused briefly before adding, “None of them are.”

As soon as they passed through the entrance, they stepped into a massive hall.

The interior of the academy was just as grand as its exterior.

High ceilings stretched far above them, decorated with glowing crystals that illuminated the entire hall.

Students walked around in groups, talking among themselves.

They came from all kinds of races.

Some of them even had appearances Leon couldn’t immediately identify.

Still, Leon didn’t care about any of that. He simply looked forward.

But before he could even think about where to go next…

Ding!

[Head to the “Event Hall” to receive your reward.]

A golden arrow suddenly appeared in front of them.

It floated in the air, pointing toward one of the corridors deeper inside the academy.

They both glanced at each other for a moment, neither of them said anything.

Then they both shrugged, “Let’s go.”

They followed the arrow.

The halls of the academy were enormous, filled with various rooms, training areas, and gathering spaces.

Even after several minutes of walking, they still hadn’t reached their destination.

Eventually though… They stopped in front of a massive door.

Ding!

[This is the “Event Hall”]

[Listen to the chairman’s speech and he shall reward you all with your respective rewards.]

Leon stared at the door silently.

From the other side… He could feel a powerful aura.

Celeste clearly felt it too. But neither of them stepped back.

They REALLY wanted those rewards

And if listening to some speech was the price they had to pay… Then so be it.

Creak!

Leon pushed the massive door open. And he stepped inside the [Event Hall].
