Chapter 115: Strength Restrictive, Unaffected Passive

Chapter 115: Chapter 115: Strength Restrictive, Unaffected Passive

Leon understood one simple truth the moment the battle began.

None of the spells he could cast would matter if the [Trace of God of Magic] simply blocked every single one of them.

It did not matter how powerful they were.

If the trace could defend against them without effort, then standing at a distance and trading spells would only lead to one result: he would be overwhelmed.

The trace possessed 250,000 Combat Power, the highest he had ever seen in the [Lower Domain].

And if Leon allowed the battle to turn into a pure magic exchange from the start, he would be crushed under sheer force.

So there was only one path available to him: he had to attack physically.

Not because it was easier. But because it would activate [Celestial’s Might].

The moment his blade attacked the enemy, the passive effect would trigger and reduce the trace’s attributes by thirty percent.

That reduction would bring the battle into a range where victory was possible.

Without that effect, he would not stand a chance.

Fwoosh!

Leon did not hesitate.

The instant the trace finished speaking, Leon kicked off the ground and dashed forward at full speed.

His body blurred as he closed the distance between them, sword already drawn and coated in energy.

The semi transparent figure watched him approach and smiled.

“Oh?” the trace said with amusement. “Another barbaric individual, I see. Do you not own a staff?”

Its tone was mocking, almost disappointed.

And then, with a lazy motion, it gently swayed its staff.

Strength Restriction!

The words were not shouted. Yet the effect was immediate. The entire [Secret Realm] shifted.

An oppressive aura flooded the chamber, pressing down from every direction.

It was not the kind of pressure meant to terrify or intimidate.

It was simply meant… to restrain, and not in the same way [Silk Bind] does.

As Leon rushed forward, translucent panels appeared before his eyes.

Ding!

[The “Trace of God of Magic” has hit you with “Strength Restriction”]

Leon’s eyes widened for a split second. And then it happened.

SLASH!

He felt nothing physically, yet something inside him was cut away.

He glanced at his status.

[Strength: 5,362 (+6,034)]

The numbers flickered. And then they vanished.

[Strength: 0]

His entire strength attribute had been erased as if it never existed.

“This is a domain of pure magic,” the trace said, its grin widening. “Let us have a magic battle.”

It pointed its staff forward, mana gathering at its tip in swirling currents of light. The density alone was enough to make the air tremble.

Leon clenched his teeth. Gods are able to cut attributes?

The realization sent a chill down his spine. This was not a debuff that reduced his power slightly.

’Or maybe it’s only because we are in this [Secret Realm].’

In an instant, Leon understood why no one had ever cleared this [Secret Realm].

Facing an enemy with 250,000 Combat Power was already insane.

But that same enemy could simply declare that physical strength did not exist within its domain.

Anyone who relied on swords, spears, or fists would die without being able to fight back.

It was unfair. Completely unfair.

Scarlet Explosions!

The trace raised its staff high.

From the stone floor beneath Leon, a massive crimson flower burst into existence.

Its petals unfolded slowly, glowing with violent energy.

The center of the flower rotated, then turned toward Leon like the barrel of a cannon.

From it, sharp sprouts shot forward.

Leon did not stop. He continued rushing toward the trace despite having zero strength.

BOOM!

The sprouts struck the ground behind him and detonated.

The explosion tore apart the stone tiles, sending debris flying in every direction.

Heat licked at his back.

’If I get hit even once, I will probably die.’

That thought was clear and cold. He needed to close the distance.

He needed to activate [Celestial’s Might].

Even if his strength was zero, the effect might still trigger.

But just as it seemed all hope was lost, another panel appeared.

Ding!

[A “Celestial” cannot be affected by such things.]

Leon blinked.

[You have learned the passive “Unaffected” linked to your “Celestial” title.]

“Huh?”

[Unaffected: No matter what happens, you cannot be affected by status effects or rules that change the way you usually fight.]

[Basically, you cannot be affected by: Stun, Paralyze, Restrain and more.]

For a brief moment, Leon simply stared at the words.

It was similar to [Unshaken], but far more absolute.

SLASH!

He checked his status again.

[Strength: 5,362 (+6,034)]

His strength returned in full as if nothing had ever happened.

A slow grin spread across his face.

’So even the rules of this realm cannot touch me anymore.’

Shadow Slash!

Without hesitation, Leon activated his ability.

His body dissolved into darkness and slipped through the shadows, avoiding the next wave of explosions entirely.

The trace tilted its head slightly.

“Why are you not using your magic yet?” it asked, almost teasing. “I know you have spells.”

Leon did not answer.

He did not know whether this trace truly carried the personality of the real [God of Magic], or if it was merely a programmed fragment.

But if it did reflect the god’s character, then this information was valuable.

Arrogant, calm and amused even in battle.

While the trace continued speaking, Leon moved silently through the darkness.

“You talk too much,” Leon said.

He emerged from the shadows directly behind the trace.

The semi transparent figure turned its head slowly, as if it had known his position all along.

“Are you stupid?” it asked. “You can’t use strength here—”

SLASH!

Leon’s blade, coated in shadow energy, cut through the trace’s torso.

A massive wound tore across its body. And its form flickered violently.

“Argh!” the trace cried out, staggering and dropping to one knee. “Huh…?”

It looked up at Leon. And as it saw his eyes, understanding dawned instantly.

“Celestial?”

Leon’s expression hardened.

’So the [God of Magic] can recognize what I am.’

“The only beings who can negate my status effects are the [Celestials],” the trace continued, rising slowly. “So you must be one of them.”

It lifted its staff again.

“No matter.”

Mana surged violently around it. This time the density was far greater.

It was no longer amused. It intended to kill him quickly.

“If you know I am a [Celestial],” Leon said calmly, “then how do you not know what comes next?”

“What comes—?”

Celestial’s Might!

An overwhelming pressure erupted from Leon’s body before the trace could even finish its sentence.

The force slammed into the trace like an invisible wave. Its attributes were instantly reduced by thirty percent.

[Trace of God of Magic (Realm Boss)]

[Combat Power: 175,000]

Leon’s eyes narrowed.

Even with the reduction, 175,000 was still monstrous. But it was manageable.

More importantly, the trace’s expression changed.

It clearly knew about the [Celestial] title and even about the passive that negated status effects.

Yet it did not seem to anticipate [Celestial’s Might].

Did that mean this ability was unique to him? Or simply unknown to this fragment?

It did not matter. He would end this now.

Before the trace could complete its next spell, Leon began his assault.

Powerful Fireball!

A blazing sphere of condensed flame shot forward.

Storm of Lightning!

Bolts descended from above, crackling with violent energy.

Blood Beam!

A crimson ray pierced through the air.

Ice Spikes!

Sharp pillars erupted from the ground.

Crescent Slash!

A crescent slash from his sword followed immediately after, rushing toward the enemy.

The trace’s eyes widened slightly. It reacted at once.

Barrier!

The stone floor of the chamber rose upward, forming a thick wall between them.

Layers of rock stacked together, reinforced by magical energy.

Under normal circumstances, that barrier would have been nearly indestructible.

But now its attributes were reduced.

BOOM!

Leon’s spells struck the barrier one after another.

And he continued casting, chaining spells without pause.

The barrier trembled violently.

“Just what are you?” the trace roared from behind the crumbling wall. “A normal celestial cannot do this!”1

SLASH!

Leon stepped forward and infused his blade with shadow as he swung with full force.

The barrier shattered completely. Fragments of rock exploded outward.

Before the trace could react, Leon continued his assault.

More spells. More strikes. No hesitation.

For nearly a full minute, the chamber was filled with constant explosions and flashes of light.

Finally, the trace fell to its knees for the second time.

Its semi transparent body flickered erratically.

Large portions of its form were unstable, breaking apart into particles of mana before reforming weakly.

It looked up at Leon with a dark expression.

“Just so you know, Celestial,” it said slowly, “The [God of Magic] is aware of this encounter. The next time we meet will not be like this. It will be your end.”

Leon stared at it calmly.

“And if you believe that the [Celestials] will be on your side… just let me tell you there are some far more terrifying ones…”

“Sure.”

SLASH!

With one clean motion, he decapitated the trace.

Its head separated from its body, both dissolving into countless fragments of light that scattered and faded into nothingness.

Silence filled the chamber. Then the familiar sound echoed in his ears.

Ding!

[You have killed “Trace of God of Magic” and gained 360,000 experience points.

Leon exhaled slowly. It was done.

And…

Ding!

[Congratulations, you are now worthy of taking the “Forbidden Spell Book”.]
