Chapter 113: A-Level Mega Spirit Enhancement, Entering the Secret Realm
Chapter 113: Chapter 113: A-Level Mega Spirit Enhancement, Entering the Secret Realm
With the sixty seconds displayed on the panel counting down in front of him, Leon did not rush to press the confirmation button immediately.
The choice itself did not truly matter as he was forced to go through with it.
Still, those sixty seconds were valuable, and wasting them would be foolish.
If the system was giving him a short window before locking him inside an unknown area, then he would use that time to prepare as best as he could.
The first thing he did was reach into his [Storage Space] and retrieve the sub-talent scroll dropped by the [God of Magic’s Disciple].
The scroll was faintly glowing, thin threads of mana running across its surface like veins.
Even before activating it, Leon could feel that it was far more valuable than any equipment the boss had dropped.
He poured his mana into the scroll without hesitation, then he tore it in half.
Fwoosh! Ding!
[Congratulations, you have upgraded your “Super Spirit Enhancement (B-Level)” sub-talent to “Mega Spirit Enhancement (A-Level)”.]
[Mega Spirit Enhancement (A-Level): Permanently increases Spirit by 100%.]
Leon slowly exhaled as he read the panel.
It was official. His spirit sub-talent now doubled his total Spirit attribute.
Compared to Emilia’s overwhelming fivefold amplification granted by her [Magic Saint] title, it might not look as extraordinary.
However, when compared to nearly every other player in the [Lower Domain], it was absurd.
Most players struggled to even obtain a C-Level enhancement sub-talent.
Reaching A-Level was something many would never achieve in their entire lives.
Leon clenched his fist slightly as he felt the surge of mana within his body.
Still though, he wanted more. He did not hide that thought from himself.
If an A-Level sub-talent could double an attribute so cleanly, then what about S-Level?
What about SS-Level? Would it triple the attribute? Quadruple it? Add additional effects beyond simple amplification?
The potential alone was intoxicating.
A normal player would have almost no chance of obtaining such a scroll from this boss.
Even Leon, with his experience from his past life, could estimate the probability.
At best, it would have been around a one percent drop chance.
And that was under ideal circumstances.
The [God of Magic’s Disciple] only appeared on the highest difficulty of the dungeon.
Once cleared, that version could not be challenged again.
That meant a player would have exactly one opportunity to roll for that sub-talent scroll.
One percent chance. One attempt.
For everyone else, that might as well have been zero.
Leon silently thanked his [100% Drop Rate] talent.
Without it, none of this would have been possible.
He would still be strong due to his S-Level [Magical Swordsman] talent from his past life, but the growth would not have been this explosive.
More importantly, he would not have been able to elevate his companions at the same pace.
After finishing with the scroll, Leon opened his [Storage Space] again and examined the stones he had accumulated.
[Skill Stones x25]
[Enhancement Stones x24]
He stared at the numbers for a moment.
It was not an impressive amount, especially considering his drop rate ability.
But it didn’t matter for now.
Opportunities to acquire more [Enhancement Stones] and [Skill Stones] were much more present in the [Higher Domain] anyway.
There was no need to waste them right now.
Upgrading [Celestial Hand] was still his top priority, and that required thirty [Skill Stones] to push it to level three.
He was five short. Using them inefficiently now would only delay that goal.
Leon closed the panel and shifted his gaze back to the choice floating before him.
The countdown had already fallen below thirty seconds.
Without hesitation, he selected [Proceed].
Ding.
[You have used your “Secret Realm Token” on the “Magic Gate”.]
[Please proceed with caution. You cannot back away anymore.]
The moment the notification ended, the [Secret Realm Token] flew forward on its own, dissolving into streams of light as it fused into the ancient gate.
BOOM!
A deep, thunderous explosion echoed throughout the chamber.
The massive stone doors trembled before slowly swinging open.
Ancient dust fell from the ceiling as the seals engraved across the surface shattered one by one.
However, beyond the opening stood a transparent veil that blocked all vision.
It shimmered like liquid glass, preventing them from seeing what lay inside.
Emilia stared at it in silence.
“So that is the [Secret Realm] we have been working toward this entire time,” she muttered, her voice carrying both awe and disbelief.
Leon nodded faintly.
From completing the quest in the [Elven Stronghold] by defeating the [Crystal Mist Guardian], to pushing into a level fifty zone earlier than they should have, to clearing the [Star Magic Cave] at its highest difficulty, everything had led to this single doorway.
Even Leon did not know what awaited him beyond that veil.
But the fact that he had reached this point was enough to strengthen his resolve.
If things continued progressing like this, then perhaps he could grow strong enough to avenge everyone who had fallen before him.
For now, though, speculation meant nothing.
“Let’s go,” Leon said calmly. “We cannot risk the entrance closing.”
Together, they walked toward the gate. Leon stepped forward first.
The transparent veil rippled slightly as he passed through it, but it did not resist him.
However, the moment Emilia attempted to follow—
Thud!
She slammed directly into the invisible barrier.
“Huh?”
Before she could react, the veil burst outward with force and threw her backward.
She collided against the chamber wall and slid down with a groan.
Leon immediately turned around.
Emilia was no longer beside him. She stood several meters away on the other side of the veil.
Ding.
[Only one person may enter the “Secret Realm” at a time.]
[The “God of Magic” does not like to be disturbed.]
[Do note that dying will permanently close this “Secret Realm” for you.]
Leon’s expression darkened. This was not good.
Emilia hurried back toward the gate, stopping just before touching the barrier again.
From her side, the veil appeared completely opaque. She could not see Leon at all.
“Leon?”
“I can hear you,” Leon replied quickly. “I can see you, but you cannot see me. We can still communicate.”
The situation was clear. The rules of a [Secret Realm] were absolute.
Once triggered, they could not be altered by force. If it allowed only one entrant, then that was final.
At the same time, the gate behind Leon began to close slowly, stone grinding against stone.
“Go back to [Myriad Race City] for now,” Leon said firmly. “I do not know what will happen inside. Either wait for me or continue leveling.”
Emilia hesitated. Concern was obvious in her eyes.
“Alright,” she said after a brief pause. “I trust you.”
A portal appeared near the altar, shimmering softly.
Even if the worst happened, Leon still possessed the [Resurrection Stone].
That safety net existed, though it would cost him access to this realm permanently.
They continued speaking for nearly a full minute as the gate closed further and further.
Neither of them wanted to cut the connection abruptly.
Finally—
Bam!
The gate sealed completely.
Leon was alone. He let out a slow breath and turned forward.
“Oh well,” he muttered. “Here goes nothing.”
Ding.
[You have entered the “Trace of Magic Chamber”.]
[May the will of the “Heavenly One” be with you.]
Leon narrowed his eyes slightly at that final line. And he stepped forward cautiously.
…
Meanwhile, on the other side of the closed gate, Emilia stood silently for a few seconds.
Then she sighed. There was nothing she could do here.
She turned toward the portal near the altar and stepped through it.
Fwoosh!
Moments later, she emerged at the entrance of the [Star Magic Cave].
The familiar cold air greeted her. She looked back once at the ominous cave opening.
“Good luck, Leon,” she whispered softly.
Then she dashed toward [Myriad Race City], determined to grow stronger while she waited.
