Chapter 107: Two Stronghold Crystals, Completing the Elf Leader’s Quest!

Chapter 107: Chapter 107: Two Stronghold Crystals, Completing the Elf Leader’s Quest!

Celestial Hand!

For the second time today, the enormous celestial hand burst out from Leon’s chest, its glow sharp and overwhelming as it surged forward.

It pierced straight through the massive corpse of the [Crystal Mist Guardian] without meeting any resistance, as if the dead body didn’t even exist.

A split second later, the hand clenched around something invisible to the naked eye and pulled back.

The moment it returned, the glow faded, and everything it had taken was neatly deposited into Leon’s [Storage Space].

Leon let out a low breath he hadn’t realized he was holding.

Then he grinned. He opened his panel and stared at the loot.

[Crystal Mist Guardian Essence: Consuming will increase Spirit by 25.]

[Stronghold Crystal x2 (Mythical): Can be used on a stronghold to level it up and make it stronger. Do note you’ll have to face a beast tide after use.]

[Mist Spear x2 (Legendary): +2,000 Attack, +1,000 Strength, +500 Agility. Requirement: Level 40.]

[Mist Repellant Potion x3 (Epic): Consuming will allow you to look through the mist for an hour.]

“…Damn.”

That was the only word Leon managed to say (like always). The drop was insane.

Even for a boss as dangerous as the [Crystal Mist Guardian], this was far above average.

The essence alone was valuable, not to mention the equipment and potions. Any high-level player would have gone crazy over a haul like this.

But Leon barely glanced at most of it. His eyes were locked on one thing.

[Stronghold Crystal x2.]

Two of them, not just one. A slow, satisfied smile spread across his face.

He had originally planned to secure a [Stronghold Crystal] for himself. It was something he’d need sooner or later, especially with his long-term plans.

But once he received the quest from the [Elven Stronghold], he had already made peace with the idea of giving that crystal away.

After all, the [Secret Realm Token] alone was more than worth it.

And yet…

Thanks to [Celestial Hand], he didn’t have to give up anything at all.

The second crystal was pure profit. A bonus.

Leon felt genuinely blessed by the timing of his skill activation. If it hadn’t triggered, he would’ve walked out with just one crystal. Instead, he now had options.

Unfortunately, when he checked his other panels, his mood dipped slightly.

It seemed like even with that, his [Blood Heart] hadn’t recharged.

“Tch.”

Leon clicked his tongue.

’Guess it’s not that easy,’ he thought.

Still, it wasn’t a big deal. Judging from the pattern so far, it would come off cooldown soon. He just needed to kill a few more monsters.

Without hesitating, Leon consumed the [Crystal Mist Guardian Essence].

A warm, sharp sensation spread through his body as his Spirit stat increased. His mind felt clearer, his mana flow smoother, and his control over magic subtly improved.

He nodded to himself, satisfied. Then he looked back at the remaining items.

The potions were useful, but situational. He stored them away without much thought.

The [Mist Spear], however, made him pause. He took one out and inspected it carefully.

The weapon was long and slender, its surface covered in faint mist-like patterns that constantly shifted.

It radiated power, far more than his current weapon.

Stat-wise, it was undeniably superior to his [Undead Sword +3].

And yet… Leon frowned slightly.

’I still don’t feel like using a spear.’

He was already holding a staff in his other hand. Fighting effectively with a spear using only one hand was awkward at best and inefficient at worst. It wasn’t his style.

Even so, the spear was far too good to just ignore.

’Someone else will want this,’ Leon thought.

Then, an idea crossed his mind. He took out the second [Mist Spear].

“…Let’s try it.”

He selected both spears and activated the fusion option.

Ding!

[You have consumed two identical equipment… enhancement successful!]

Leon blinked.

“Oh. It worked.”

The two spears vanished, and a new weapon appeared in his panel.

[Mist Spear +2 (Legendary): +3,000 Attack, +1,700 Strength, +1,000 Agility. Allows user to cast “Spear Throw”.]

Leon raised an eyebrow.

“Damn,” he muttered, then nodded. “It even gained a skill.”

[Spear Throw] wasn’t something he planned to use personally, but it made the weapon even more valuable.

“Good enough.”

He stored it away. After finishing his checks, Leon turned toward Emilia.

She was still looking at her own panel, her expression bright.

“I dropped the boss’ essence and a potion,” she said cheerfully as she consumed it on the spot.

“Good enough,” Leon replied with a nod. “It’s time to go back.”

“Damn, already?” Emilia laughed. “Guess you weren’t lying when you said you’d be done in an hour.”

“Of course,” Leon said calmly.

As they began heading toward the exit of the [Land of Mist], Leon opened another panel.

[Free Points to Allocate: 750.]

“…Damn.”

That number alone would’ve made most players freeze in place. But Leon didn’t hesitate.

“400 in Spirit. 200 in Strength. 150 in Agility.”

The points vanished instantly.

A powerful surge rushed through his body. His muscles tightened, his movements felt lighter, and the mana flowing through him became denser and more responsive.

Leon clenched his fist. He could feel it. He was stronger.

A grin spread across his face.

Ding!

[You have acquired the “Stronghold Crystal”. Return it to “ElvenStronghold” to complete the quest.]

Leon closed the panel and turned around.

Fwoosh!

In less than a minute, Leon and Emilia emerged from the misty wall.

The players who had been waiting outside stared at them in disbelief.

“I guess they got scared shitless,” someone scoffed.

“No wonder,” another replied. “Still, I’m surprised they lasted thirty minutes. The guardian shows up around that time.”

Even the human man who had warned Leon earlier stepped forward, concern clear on his face.

“Kid,” he said, “did you encounter the guardian?”

Leon smiled.

“Yeah,” he replied casually. “It’s dead.”

“…What?”

Before the man could react further, Leon had already dashed forward, Emilia following closely behind.

“Don’t die,” Leon called out without looking back.

They left behind a group of stunned players who could only stare in silence.

Leon didn’t slow down. He passed [Myriad Race City] once more and headed straight for the [Elven Stronghold].

When they arrived, Leon stopped and raised his voice.

“Come out.”

The air warped. Within thirty seconds, the elf leader appeared before them.

“Did you give up already?” ElvenStronghold asked coldly. “What a waste of time.”

It was clear he hadn’t believed Leon could complete the quest.

Leon didn’t argue. Instead, he opened his [Storage Space].

Fwoosh!

A brilliant blue crystal appeared in his hand.

“…Huh?” ElvenStronghold’s eyes widened, “Wait, what?”

“It took me over an hour because of travel time,” Leon said with a smile. “But I think I was fast enough.”

The elf stared at the crystal for a long moment. Then he sighed.

“No wonder you are [Celestial],” he muttered. “Do not worry. I won’t speak of this to anyone. Your help is appreciated.”

His tone had softened just slightly.

“As agreed,” ElvenStronghold said, tossing a small item toward Leon and dropping a chest on the ground. “Goodbye, human.”

And just like that, he vanished.

Ding!

[Your reputation with elfs has slightly improved.]

Leon nodded. It wasn’t much, but it mattered. Then he looked at the token in his hand.

[Secret Realm Token (Mythical): Can be used in a place where a secret realm resides to open it. Do note that it is extremely dangerous.]

“Good.”
