Emil closed his eyes as he finally gave rest to his tired body. It didn’t even take long for sleep to finally embrace him tightly. He slowly drifted into a long slumber.

Soon, time passed. The morning sun had finally taken over the bright light of the moon. The sun’s rays were stretched across the Earth, and some of them also travelled inside Emil’s room through the cracked glass of the windows.

A light breeze of morning air entered alongside it, which finally made him snuggle into the bed. Emil knew that it had already been morning, but he wanted to sleep more.

He tried to do so but failed; his face remained buried in the pillow as he grabbed his mobile. Through semi-opened eyes he noticed that it had already been 11 AM.

It didn’t take him long enough to sit back up, legs crossed. His eyes widened almost to the extent where they could gouge out. "It’s almost afternoon, and I’m waking up right now?!" He muttered under his breath.

"I’ve never slept this long ever since my teenage days when I used to game the whole night with my buddies back in my world."

Those memories where he shared time with his friends fell inside his mind, which caused him to smile, but he regained his composure. "No, it’s not time to think about my past life."

His gaze travelled towards the VR helmet, which was kept on a table beside the bed. He gave a slight nod to it before getting on his feet.

Slowly he travelled through the door and entered the bathroom. He took a quick shower, and while showering, he brushed his teeth clean.

After doing all that, he looked for something to eat. There was a fridge kept in the corner of the room, and while Emil was starting his day, he had noticed that this apartment just contained a single room, a small hall and the kitchen.

He opened the fridge; there wasn’t anything appetising in it. Just a couple of carrots, a pack of tofu, and a packet of bread and jam were kept inside. The rest of the space was empty and almost looked so clean as if it had never been used before.

A sigh left through Emil’s mouth; he shook his head in utter disbelief. ’Mate, you were this poor? I definitely do feel so sad for your life.’ He muttered inwardly, remorse in his tone. Still, he didn’t waste any time and slowly leaned forward because he didn’t have any other choice but to grab the packet of bread and the jam.

After he had finally eaten four slices of bread which were coated with jam equally, he put the helmet on his head before pressing the [Start] button.

The scenery around him changed right away; he was back in the male dormitory where he had last logged out.

"Okay, let’s do this shit all over again." He muttered under his breath.

But before getting off the bed, he decided to summon both Aquila and Atlas to try and test something.

Two golden portals appeared in his vision. The portals were radiating strong mana, and on the edges they were traced by a fine lining of black. Through the portals, both of them stepped out. From the one on the left came Atlas, and from the right came Aquila.

The enormous dorm room suddenly seemed much smaller because of their massive frames. Atlas, standing at nearly ten feet tall, and Aquila, just under nine feet, made the spacious room look almost like a children’s playroom built for dolls.

Both of them instantly dropped down to their knees; one knee rested on the ground, and the other supported their body. Heads were slightly naked as their weapons were kept right beside them.

Emil walked towards them; his walk came to a halt a few metres away. He simply crossed his arms as he asked. "You both still want to have a duel?" His voice was filled with amusement, and also a hint of curiosity dripped from his tone.

Both Atlas and Aquila lifted their heads in unison and looked at Emil’s face once before gazing at each other. Their eyes gleamed with excitement, although it felt more like rivalry, which had been between them for centuries.

Both of them got up, grabbed their weapons and aimed at each other. But even before they could continue, Emil’s voice echoed through the room. "Wait!! You both can duel, but not here at least."

Atlas and Aquila tilted their heads; unnecessary confusion devoured them.

"Let’s go back to the land of Valthorians. We can continue this over there because no one would be able to hear or see us back there."

The portal remained open as Emil stepped through it, finding himself standing before the city’s gates once again. The sun hung directly overhead, its harsh rays making it difficult to keep his eyes open. Hot air swirled around him as the city’s tall buildings and houses stretched across his view.

Atlas and Aquila soon stepped through the portal as well. The moment they crossed over, the portal behind them vanished without a trace.

Emil didn’t walk towards the city but stood where he was. He took a quick look at both of his summons before continuing. "You can continue fighting each other here; no one will disturb your duel. Not even me."

Before anything else could take place, Atlas lunged forward, leaving his afterimage back. He lifted his battle axe up in the air and swung it at Aquila. But before it could even land, he had already dodged to his left.

The blade still swung, which made the afterimage of Aquila disappear in just a sliver of a second. Atlas was about to turn behind to swing at him again, but before he could react, a barrage of arrows suddenly shot toward him from behind.

Still, Atlas managed to dodge almost all of them, but some of them pierced through his sturdy skin around the shoulders. Crimson blood flowed out through the wound, which travelled down to Atlas’s fingertips; some of it trailed further down and dropped on the hot sand and evaporated within a few seconds.
