One Piece: Getting Stronger by Writing a Diary
Chapter 615 - 836 – Not Knowing Her Is Perfectly Normal
"Don't act on impulse, Lucci."
Kalifa shook her head and spoke quietly.
Rob Lucci frowned. Although he was somewhat puzzled as to why Kalifa was stopping him, his trust in her ultimately won out, and he chose to believe her.
Nearby, Blueno and Kaku had also just woken up. After seeing the exchange between Lucci and Kalifa, they glanced at each other before deciding to stay put for the time being.
Just as Lucci trusted Kalifa, Kaku and Blueno trusted her as well. Despite their doubts, they were still willing to follow her lead.
"I already tried. That woman is very strong—she subdued me in an instant."
"Don't try to test her strength. We don't want to cause a conflict."
Kalifa's expression was serious.
Strong?
Lucci, Kaku, and Blueno all looked toward the source of the voice in surprise.
Not far away stood a slender, beautiful woman.
The three of them could tell that she was a warrior, but judging by their own experience, she didn't seem particularly powerful.
Kalifa shouldn't be saying something like that.
Yet the same thought had barely crossed all three of their minds when they involuntarily remembered the woman who had beaten them so badly earlier.
That woman had relied on the power of the Rumble-Rumble Fruit's elementalization to utterly crush these professionally trained agents.
With that fact in mind, Lucci, Kaku, and Blueno no longer dared to underestimate Raki.
What if this seemingly unimpressive woman was actually just as terrifying as Conis?
After what had happened earlier, the three agents really didn't want to suffer another defeat. The blow to their pride would be far too great.
"Relax, I don't mean you any harm. I was just wandering around Water 7 when I happened to find all of you lying unconscious on the ground."
"I recognized Blueno and knew he owned this place, so I brought all of you here with me."
Raki's explanation made Lucci, Kaku, and Blueno look up one after another, their curious gazes settling on her.
Even Kalifa pretended to look at Raki with curiosity.
After all, logically speaking, Kalifa wasn't supposed to know her right now. To keep Lucci and the others from noticing anything unusual, she could only act like someone who had only just met Raki.
That was the only way to keep their plan from going off course.
"You know me?" Blueno narrowed his eyes. "But I don't seem to remember you."
As an agent, Blueno made a point of remembering the people who came into his bar.
If Raki had truly visited before, he felt he should remember her.
Lucci and Kaku immediately became wary.
"It's perfectly normal that you don't know me. I only saw you outside the bar before. I hadn't even gotten the chance to come in for a drink yet."
Raki spread her hands.
...
"I see."
After hearing Raki's explanation, Blueno nodded to himself.
Put that way, it made sense. It was a bit of a coincidence, but at least the story held together.
"You guys are seriously cautious. I'm the one who helped you, you know."
"If it weren't for me, you'd still be lying unconscious on that freezing ground."
"Of course, if you really want to fight me, I don't mind. But I should warn you first—I'm very strong."
Raki clasped her hands together as if to prove her point, then released her magic power.
A pale green glow shimmered around her as Lucci, Kaku, and Blueno instantly felt an overwhelming pressure descend upon them.
Kalifa's eyes widened involuntarily.
She knew Raki was strong, but she had never actually seen her fight.
Now that she was witnessing the sheer presence Raki gave off after releasing her power, Kalifa was just as shocked as the others.
Kaku, Lucci, and Blueno needed even less convincing.
"Strong!!!"
The same word flashed through all three of their minds.
They couldn't tell whether the power Raki was displaying came from her own strength or from a Devil Fruit.
But at this point, none of them had any intention of opposing her.
Picking a fight when they already knew the other person was stronger wasn't courage. It was stupidity.
"Ahem. Anyway, thank you for saving us."
"We were attacked by a pirate earlier. If it weren't for you, we would've been in serious trouble."
"That's right. Weren't you planning to have a drink? The bar isn't open yet, but I can prepare the best liquor I have for you."
Blueno stood up with a smile and spoke to Raki.
At the same time, he didn't forget to exchange a look with Lucci and Kaku.
Please don't try to act tough right now.
Fortunately, neither of them was an idiot. Even without Blueno's signal, they knew exactly what they should be doing.
"Ahem, Blueno's right. We came here to have a drink with him, but unfortunately, we ran into a vicious woman who robbed us."
"We underestimated her because she looked like a harmless woman with no real strength, and before we knew it, she had beaten us."
Kaku spread his hands with a regretful look.
Kalifa nearly burst out laughing.
A harmless woman? And then she ambushed you and beat you?
If Kalifa hadn't personally witnessed the fight between Conis and Lucci, Kaku, and Blueno, she might actually have believed him.
Unfortunately, Raki knew exactly what had happened—and she knew how strong Conis really was.
That only made Kaku's story even funnier.
Kalifa looked stern on the outside, but inwardly she let out a long sigh, thoroughly exasperated.
Still, she couldn't exactly remind Kaku of the truth now. If she did, wouldn't that expose everything?
"Man, you guys really are unlucky."
Raki took a deep breath, forced her smile back down, and looked at Lucci, Kaku, Blueno, and the others.
