One Piece: Getting Stronger by Writing a Diary
Chapter 614 - 834 – That Might Actually Work [BONUS]
"Since we can't take them to the hospital, how about we bring you and the others to Blueno's bar instead?"
"When the time comes, we'll say I was planning to stop by Blueno's bar for a drink and happened to find all of you lying unconscious on the ground."
"Out of kindness, I brought everyone into the bar to rest."
Raki rubbed her chin thoughtfully.
"That is one option, but..."
Kalifa frowned.
"But what?"
Raki looked at her in confusion.
"Given how cautious Rob Lucci is, if he wakes up and sees you, he might decide to kill you."
"After all, as long as you're gone, that would be the safest outcome for CP9."
"If no one discovers that we're wearing the same agent uniform, the chances of our identities being exposed will be even lower."
Kalifa sounded genuinely worried.
She already thought of herself as a member of Arton's Flame Blade Pirates, so naturally, she didn't want her former CP9 companions coming into conflict with her future crewmates.
If the two sides clashed, Kalifa herself would be put in an extremely difficult position.
"I also think it'd be better if I didn't show myself and simply waited for them to wake up on their own."
"However, Captain asked me to stay by your side."
"I hope you can understand, Kalifa."
Raki looked at her apologetically.
"Of course I understand."
Kalifa nodded.
Arton knew nothing about the voyage diary copies, so he had no idea that their holders already knew certain things about his voyage diary system.
Many voyage diary copy holders were already quite willing to join Arton simply because doing so gave them a chance to obtain great power.
For someone like Kalifa, who knew about her own tragic fate in the future, the likelihood of joining Arton was even greater.
And after what had already happened between them, Kalifa felt that joining the Flame Blade Pirates was practically a certainty.
Unfortunately, Arton knew none of this.
Under those circumstances, it was only natural for him to choose a more cautious approach.
For example, having Raki remain beside Kalifa so she couldn't leak any information about him.
Of course, given Kalifa's situation, there was no chance she would reveal anything related to Arton anyway.
"As for the possibility of Rob Lucci attacking me, I have a plan for that too."
"When the time comes, pretend you wake up first and remind Rob Lucci and the others that I'm strong."
...
"That way, they won't attack me, right?"
Raki smiled at Kalifa.
"Now that you mention it, that might actually work."
Kalifa rested her right fist against her left palm, nodding to herself.
These CP9 agents had only just been defeated by Conis.
If Kalifa told Rob Lucci that Raki was very strong, he would probably be cautious enough not to attack her.
That would effectively prevent a conflict between the two sides.
Once Rob Lucci calmed down, Raki could naturally continue appearing before him as an ordinary shipwright.
...
"Then let's do that."
Kalifa clapped her hands with a smile. "Before Rob Lucci and the others wake up, I'll tell them that you're very strong. I'll also say that I woke up first and instinctively tried to attack you, only for you to subdue me almost instantly."
"Then I'll tell them I'm the secretary to the mayor of Iceburg, which is why you didn't continue attacking me."
Although Kalifa hadn't personally seen Raki use Six Powers at full strength, after what had happened with Conis, she had every reason to believe that Raki was just as powerful.
Even though Raki had only obtained her mold from Arton after Conis did, Kalifa knew that Raki had already been a warrior before that, while Conis had originally been a musician.
Under those circumstances, Raki's progress after obtaining her mold would naturally be even faster than Conis's.
Kalifa still didn't know exactly what kind of mold Raki possessed, but she was confident that Raki could easily back up the story she had just proposed.
"Since you've decided, let's get started."
Raki pointed ahead.
Kalifa nodded and quickened her pace, heading with Raki toward the place where Rob Lucci, Kaku, and the others had fallen.
Just as before, they were all still unconscious.
"They really were completely wiped out."
"As expected, strength is the most important thing in this world."
Kalifa sighed as she looked at her fallen companions.
In a world where strength reigned supreme, lacking power simply made life difficult.
That only strengthened Kalifa's resolve to join Arton's Flame Blade Pirates.
As long as she joined him, she could prevent something like this from happening again.
As long as she obtained great power through Arton, she wouldn't end up miserably abandoned by the World Government as the future had originally shown.
"Then let's begin."
Kalifa patted her cheeks and got to work with Raki, moving Rob Lucci and the others.
Now that they had settled on a plan, she saw no reason to keep dwelling on it.
The most important thing was to deal with what was right in front of them first.
...
Kalifa and Raki moved quickly. Before long, they had carried Rob Lucci, Kaku, Blueno, and the others into Blueno's bar.
Arton's prediction proved quite accurate.
Not long after they arrived, Rob Lucci and the other three gradually began to wake up.
"Where is this?"
Rob Lucci stared at the familiar ceiling above him, thoroughly confused.
Who am I? Where am I right now?
He sat up, clutching his forehead as he looked around.
"Kalifa, Kaku, Blueno."
Seeing Kaku and Blueno awake as well, along with Kalifa sitting cross-legged nearby, Rob Lucci finally came fully to his senses.
He remembered being defeated by the mysterious Conis, and immediately wanted to ask Kalifa whether she had found any trace of her.
Just then, an unfamiliar voice reached his ears.
"Hey, you're all awake."
"Who?!"
The moment Rob Lucci heard the voice, he sprang into action.
Fortunately, Kalifa had been prepared and immediately reached out to hold his shoulder down.
