Chapter 599 - 804 – Iceburg, You’ve Got a Mean Streak

  • Next Chapter

"You want Rob Lucci and Kaku to build your ship for you?"

Iceburg stared at Arton in astonishment, almost wondering whether he had misheard.

After all, Arton had already indicated that Rob Lucci, Kaku, and the others were agents. Why would he still arrange for them to help build his ship?

Was Arton not worried that Rob Lucci and Kaku would do a sloppy job during construction?

A poor job would be one thing. If Rob Lucci and Kaku deliberately left defects in the ship while building it, that would be disastrous.

"Don't worry. I know what I'm doing."

Arton smiled.

"Before their identities are truly exposed, I don't think they'll hold anything back when building the ship."

"From what I know, they're all people who take their missions very seriously."

"If this mission failed, they'd be quite distressed themselves."

"Besides, Rob Lucci and Kaku are among the best shipwrights you have here, aren't they?"

"Not making proper use of them would be a waste."

"Rob Lucci and Kaku really are excellent shipwrights."

Iceburg nodded.

"But aside from those two, we still have plenty of other outstanding shipwrights here."

"I don't think you necessarily need Rob Lucci and Kaku to help build your ship."

If Arton ultimately proved that Rob Lucci and the others really were CP9 agents assigned here, Iceburg would consider that an enormous favor.

Iceburg even intended to ask Franky to help with the ship afterward.

So in his eyes, Rob Lucci and Kaku were not indispensable.

"Heh, maybe."

Arton chuckled.

"But don't you think it would be interesting?"

"Once Rob Lucci and Kaku—and even Kalifa—finish helping me build the ship, I'll reveal to them that they built a ship for a vicious criminal wanted by the World Government."

"I imagine their expressions will be pretty entertaining."

The corner of Iceburg's mouth twitched.

Only now did Iceburg realize Arton was probably a man with quite a mischievous personality.

"You're really ruthless, Arton."

Arton placed a hand on Iceburg's shoulder and smiled.

"They've been lurking around you for so long."

"Don't you want to punish them properly too?"

"If it were me, I definitely would."

Iceburg rested his chin on one hand and fell into thought.

He had to admit that Arton's suggestion was rather tempting.

Although Iceburg had always been a serious man, he was genuinely unhappy with CP9's agents.

If he could make a little trouble for them, he would not be opposed to it.

After thinking carefully, Iceburg finally nodded.

"All right. You've convinced me, Arton. I'll do what you said."

"When we build the ship later, I'll deliberately arrange for Rob Lucci and Kaku to help."

"To make sure nothing goes wrong, I'll also have other shipwrights work alongside them, so they won't have any chance to tamper with the ship."

Arton smiled. "Thoughtful as ever."

Iceburg really was Iceburg—a meticulous man.

That was one of the things Arton liked about him.

Although construction had not yet begun, Arton could already picture a beautiful new ship taking shape before him.

...

"Then get ready, Conis."

Arton turned toward Conis beside him.

"I understand."

Conis took a deep breath.

Iceburg also looked toward her.

He knew Conis intended to make her move against Kalifa, Rob Lucci, and the others below.

After seeing Kalifa and the others dressed in agent uniforms, Iceburg was already almost certain those people were CP9 agents.

Still, since they had come this far, he wanted to confirm Rob Lucci and the others' identities one step further.

And the natural way to do that was to see whether they would use techniques unique to CP9.

"CP9 agents are formidable, but Miss Conis is a Rumble-Rumble Fruit user."

"She should be capable of forcing Kalifa and Rob Lucci to reveal their true abilities."

Iceburg muttered inwardly, preparing to watch the show.

A flash of blue light streaked past.

Conis transformed into lightning and instantly appeared in front of Blueno, Kalifa, and the others, who were in the middle of their meeting.

"Who are you?"

Blueno sensed movement behind him and immediately turned, throwing a punch.

However, what was extraordinarily fast in the eyes of an ordinary person appeared unusually slow to Conis.

So slow.

Conis muttered inwardly and casually raised a hand, catching Blueno's fist.

"What?!"

Blueno froze.

He knew exactly how powerful his own punch was.

Although he did not know who the woman who had suddenly appeared before them was, she looked extremely delicate.

Looking delicate did not necessarily mean weak—Kalifa herself was a perfect example.

Even so, Kalifa's punches were nowhere near as powerful as his.

Even Kalifa would need to treat one of his punches seriously if she wanted to catch it.

Yet this woman before him had effortlessly stopped his punch.

How could Blueno not be shocked?

"Just someone passing by."

Conis casually answered before activating the power of the Rumble-Rumble Fruit and sending an electric current through Blueno's body.

Lightning immediately wrapped around Blueno before he collapsed directly to the ground.

"Blueno?!"

Kaku's eyes widened in shock. "What did you do to him?"

His latter question was naturally directed at Conis.

"Don't worry. I merely put him to sleep."

Conis smiled gently at Kaku.

It was as though she had never attacked Blueno at all.

After speaking, Conis turned toward Kalifa.

At that moment, Kalifa's eyes widened in utter astonishment as she stared at Conis.

It's actually her? So Arton really has come here?

Kalifa exclaimed inwardly.

She remembered Conis clearly.

She had not met Conis in reality, but she had seen her through the voyage diary copy.

The voyage diary system possessed by Arton had once sent photographs he had taken of Conis into the voyage diary.

Combined with the abilities Conis had just displayed, Kalifa became even more certain of her conclusion.

A woman capable of using lightning could only be Conis demonstrating the power of the Rumble-Rumble Fruit—or perhaps the power of the Serval mold.

Does that mean I'll be able to meet Arton very soon?

Kalifa thought.
