One Piece: Getting Stronger by Writing a Diary

Chapter 598 - 802 – Compared to That, We Should Head Over

  • Next Chapter

[Raki: Are you planning to go all out later, Conis?]

After leaving a message in her voyage diary copy, Raki turned to glance at Conis, who was walking ahead beside Arton and Iceburg.

[Conis: Mm. I don't want to mess up the very first mission Arton entrusted to me.]

Conis knew it was inconvenient to whisper with Raki in front of Arton right now.

Using the voyage diary copy to communicate was much more convenient.

[Conis: You don't look very good. Is there something wrong with my idea, Raki?]

[Raki: There is a small problem. Conis, you know Kalifa might become one of Captain's heroines, right?]

[Conis: Of course. There's a good chance she also possesses a voyage diary copy.]

Arton had mentioned Kalifa's name many times in his voyage diary.

He had also clearly shown interest in her.

Under those circumstances, if Kalifa were merely an ordinary person without a voyage diary copy, Conis would find it extremely surprising.

After all, Kalifa was an exceptionally beautiful woman.

There was no reason someone like her would not become one of the heroines at Arton's side.

[Raki: In that case, I don't think you should go all out against her. If you hurt her too badly, Captain will definitely feel awful.]

[Conis: Huh?!]

[Raki: Besides, she might become one of our companions in the future. If you seriously injure her now, it could make it harder for everyone to get along once she joins us.]

[Conis: This...]

Conis's mind began racing.

She had to admit that Raki was right.

She really should not use her full strength.

The Rumble-Rumble Fruit was extremely powerful.

If she combined it with the power of Fate, its destructive force would become even greater.

Kalifa might merely be somewhat stronger than an ordinary person.

If Conis accidentally killed her, then she would be in serious trouble.

[Conis: Raki, thanks for reminding me. If you hadn't said anything, I really might have caused a disaster.]

[Raki: Don't worry about it. We're companions, after all. Companions are supposed to support each other.]

Seeing Raki's message, Conis's smile grew even brighter.

[Conis: From now on, if Captain brings us any milk, I'll let you have all of mine, Raki.]

[Raki: ...O-Okay.]

Raki swallowed. She had originally wanted to refuse.

However, the milk Arton brought them every time was simply far too fragrant.

Under those circumstances, Raki truly found herself unable to reject Conis's offer.

Before she could think about it any further, she ended up replying first.

"Raki, Conis, what are you two thinking about?"

"You've been staring at the ground this whole time. Is there money lying there or something?"

Arton's voice suddenly sounded beside Raki and Conis, snapping them out of their conversation.

"Sorry, Captain. We were just spacing out."

Raki hurriedly raised her head.

"Can spacing out really be discussed?"

Arton shook his head.

"Forget it. Now isn't the time to talk about that."

"Compared to that, we should head over."

"My Color of Observation tells me Kalifa and the others are about to hold a meeting."

...

"Really, Arton?"

Iceburg hurriedly asked after hearing him.

Conis and Raki did not even have time to respond.

That alone showed how much Iceburg cared about what Arton had said.

"Of course." Arton tapped the side of his head. "My Color of Observation has already detected them. There's absolutely no mistake this time."

"Then again, my Color of Observation has never been wrong before."

"That's right."

Raki nodded heavily.

"I think so too."

Conis smiled.

"I see."

Iceburg took a deep breath.

"So the moment has finally come. Arton, I'll have to trouble you to take us there next."

"No problem. Follow me. I won't let them notice us."

Arton gave Iceburg a thumbs-up.

Color of Observation truly was an incredibly useful ability.

Even though Arton himself was unfamiliar with Water 7, by following the guidance of his Color of Observation, he quickly reached the place where Kalifa and the others were holding their meeting.

Even with an ordinary person like Iceburg accompanying him, Arton ensured that Kalifa and the others never discovered them.

That was understandable. Kalifa, Rob Lucci, Kaku, and Blueno did not currently possess Color of Observation.

For them to detect Arton despite his own Color of Observation while he was escorting an ordinary person like Iceburg would have been extremely difficult.

"Well? What do you think, Iceburg?"

Arton stood with Iceburg on a second-floor balcony, watching Rob Lucci and the others inside the warehouse through a window.

Iceburg remained silent.

The corners of his mouth twitched as he stared at Rob Lucci and the others, all dressed in black. His brows drew tightly together.

Kalifa and the others dressed entirely in black looked almost exactly like the CP9 agents Iceburg had seen before.

That alone made it difficult for him not to believe Arton's earlier claim that Kalifa and the others were agents.

After all, if they were not agents, why would they be dressed like agents?

Moreover, what Kalifa and the others were saying also proved that Arton had not lied.

"This truly is astonishing. No matter what, thank you, Arton."

Iceburg spoke to Arton respectfully.

Without Arton, he had no idea how much longer Kalifa and the others might have deceived him.

The mere thought that these dangerous people had remained beside him for so long made Iceburg afraid in hindsight.

That only made him even more grateful to Arton.

"No need to thank me. This is a fair transaction between us, isn't it?"

Arton smiled.

"Of course. Rest assured, I'll definitely put all my skills to use and do everything I can to build your ship properly."

Iceburg spoke with complete sincerity.

"I look forward to seeing the finished product."

"I'll explain my specific requirements for the ship in detail later."

Arton replied.

"No problem."

Iceburg nodded before turning his gaze back toward Kalifa and the others in the warehouse.

"Arton, what are you planning to do with these people?"

"Or can you think of some way to make them leave the shipyard?"

Now that Iceburg knew Kalifa and the others were agents, he naturally did not want them continuing to remain around him.

"That won't be a problem."

Arton smiled.

"But before they leave, I want them to participate in building my ship too."

"In other words, Mayor Iceburg, please don't fire them just yet."
