On a Stormy Night, the Campus Belle Knocked on My Door Seeking Shelter
Chapter 152: The Sickly High School Student with Astonishing Combat Power
Li Tie’s strike was fast and vicious, aimed straight for Chen Mo’s head! It was a clear attempt to kill.
Had Chen Mo been the least bit unprepared, that single strike would have killed him on the spot.
Even if he had been alert, trying to dodge or block it bare-handed would have been pointless. He would have stood no chance—Li Tie was powerfully built from years of manual labor. With his explosive strength and the element of surprise, the speed and force behind that strike were at their absolute peak. An ordinary person wouldn’t have been able to react in time!
Luckily, Chen Mo was fully prepared!
The instant the tip of the blade nearly touched his scalp, Chen Mo’s gloved right hand shot out and clamped down on the blade.
His immense strength brought the knife to a dead stop, unable to advance another inch!
Almost simultaneously, Chen Mo’s left fist whistled through the air and slammed into the nerve cluster on Li Tie’s knife-wielding arm.
"Ugh!" Li Tie felt a jolt shoot through his right arm. It went numb and limp, all strength draining from it in an instant.
Chen Mo’s eyes were icy, his movements terrifyingly swift.
He wrenched the blade, easily disarming Li Tie and snatching the lethal fruit knife from his limp grasp.
"CLANG!" Without a second glance, Chen Mo flung the knife away, and it hit the floor in the distance.
The entire exchange took only a second or two!
Li Tie was utterly stunned! The viciousness on his face gave way to shock and disbelief.
’Wasn’t this kid supposed to be sick? How did he react so fast? And why the fuck is he wearing gloves?’
’Those moves... snatching the knife, striking the nerve, disarming him... they were so clean and precise, as if he’d practiced them a thousand times!’
"Shit!" A chill shot up from the soles of Li Tie’s feet.
The plan had fallen apart! Fear seized him as he faced a high schooler who, even while supposedly sick, had disarmed him with ease.
At this point, Li Tie was desperate. He let out a low roar and unleashed his full brute strength, swinging his free arm wildly at Chen Mo. He tried to use his weight and power to overwhelm him, charging forward like a crazed bull!
Unfortunately for him, he wasn’t up against an ordinary student.
Chen Mo was already strong, but more importantly, his combat experience and technique completely outclassed Li Tie’s.
The moment the knife was gone, Chen Mo was already in motion.
He seized Li Tie’s limp right arm, yanked it upward, and brutally twisted it behind his back.
"HISS—!" The excruciating pain of his joint being twisted to its limit made Li Tie’s vision swim. His body spun uncontrollably with the force—if he didn’t go with it, his arm would be snapped on the spot.
The moment Li Tie was spun around and off-balance, Chen Mo drove his knee forward with the full force of his body, slamming it squarely into the small of Li Tie’s back.
THUD! A muffled impact.
"Ugh, AAGH—!" Li Tie felt as if the blow had rearranged his internal organs. The agonizing pain sapped his strength, and his vision went dark. His body went limp, as if boneless, as Chen Mo pinned him firmly, pressing his face against the cold door. He was completely immobilized.
"N-No... impossible..." he wheezed, bent over and gasping for breath, his face a mask of disbelief.
’How could an ordinary high school student be this terrifyingly skilled in a fight?’
It was like facing a master of grappling; he was controlled so completely that he had no way to resist.
"Just what are you?" he asked, incredulous.
"You broke into my home to attack me, and you have the audacity to ask who I am?" Chen Mo sneered. With his free right hand, he pulled out his phone and called the police.
He crisply and clearly relayed the location, the nature of the incident, and the police presence required.
The dispatcher on the other end of the line was momentarily taken aback by Chen Mo’s report, which was as clean and professional as a veteran officer’s. They quickly acknowledged and began dispatching units.
Meanwhile, Chen Mo had Li Tie in a reverse arm-lock—one of the simplest, most practical, and most efficient restraint techniques used by law enforcement.
In this hold, it was best for the suspect not to struggle. Any movement would only cause the arm behind his back to be twisted tighter, increasing the pain.
It was a hold where the slightest bit of extra pressure from the person applying it could make the one being restrained howl in agony.
"Start talking. Why did you suddenly show up at my house and attack me?" Chen Mo already had a good idea, but now was his chance to confront Li Tie directly and get more information.
"Hmph. I miscalculated and ended up in your hands. But you can forget about getting anything else out of me. It’s useless to ask." Li Tie was stubborn. Even pinned as he was, he refused to talk.
But Chen Mo knew all about the Great Memory Recovery Skill. Although the technique had been banned in his era, the older generation had still passed it down.
Chen Mo had learned it, and while he couldn’t use it now, he knew it could be very useful in certain situations.
Like this one, for instance. Li Tie had committed a home invasion with a deadly weapon. This granted Chen Mo the right to unlimited self-defense. Even though he had already subdued Li Tie, as long as they were still alone in the house and the immediate threat hadn’t been officially neutralized by authorities, Chen Mo retained an extremely broad right to defend himself against the intruder.
Therefore, in this situation, he could probably break the man’s arm and face no legal consequences.
’You have to know the law to use the law.’
’And knowing how to use it well is even more terrifying.’
As he held Li Tie, Chen Mo knew that as long as he didn’t kill him, he could basically inflict any amount of suffering he wished.
Of course, he had no intention of actually doing that. He still preferred to get the information he wanted simply by talking.
"Even if you don’t say anything, I know why you’re here," Chen Mo said, sneering at Li Tie’s back. "It’s because of Yuqing, isn’t it?"
The words were barely out of Chen Mo’s mouth when Li Tie roared, "Don’t you dare say her name so familiarly!"
Seeing Li Tie go berserk and start to struggle, Chen Mo immediately increased the pressure with his hand and knee.
The instant, agonizing pain from his twisting arm and the pressure on his spine made Li Tie grimace and gasp.
"I’d advise you to stay still," Chen Mo said coolly. "Otherwise, you’re only going to hurt yourself."
That settled it for Chen Mo. The guy was definitely here because of Su Yuqing.
But there were still a few things he needed to figure out.
"Last Friday night. Were you following her?" Chen Mo didn’t waste any time, getting straight to the point.
"Last Friday night?" Li Tie paused.
’He hadn’t even known anything had happened at Su Yuqing’s house last Friday. He’d only found out later what happened to his brother and gone to visit him in the hospital. Follow her? Like hell he did.’
But he ignored Chen Mo’s question and said harshly, "Hmph. What business is it of yours? Who do you think you are to Yuqing? It’s not your place to ask."
The moment the words left his mouth, a searing pain shot through his arm. He immediately started grimacing and begging, "It hurts, it hurts! It’s gonna break, it’s gonna break!"
