Chapter 2805: The Origin of Summoning Magic II
[You have unlocked the first objective of the Omega Sequence Quest.]
[Congratulations! You will now be sent to the next part of the quest.]
Adrian then saw darkness as a panorama of events appeared before him. Just as Telos’ mother, Iremia, has stated, they went to the Goddess of Life Gaea for answers regarding Telos’ abilities. With just one of scan of divine energy from the goddess, Telos is declared as a being with a special ability to see the souls of others in full color. Adrian then thought that he might be connected to Telos as he also gained that ability as well.
The Goddess of Life Gaea also told Iremia that Telos is quite talented when it comes to getting the affection of creatures. It seems that the Goddess of Life Gaea even called upon the Goddess Rhea to confirm if they do have the same abilities. The Goddess Rhea then scanned Telos with her divine energy and came up with a rather confusing statement.
The Goddess Rhea did say that Telos has the power to understand the thoughts and even the words of other creatures but his ability did not come from a blessing. The Goddess Rhea did not bless Telos when he was a baby so it would be impossible for Telos to get that ability from her. The Goddess Rhea concluded that the ability to hear the words of other creatures might be a mutated ability of Telos’ original ability to see the souls of other beings.
Adrian also saw the closeness that Iremia has to the gods and goddesses of life. From what Adrian could infer, Iremia might be one of the children that the Goddess of Life Gaea favors. The way that they spoke to Iremia made her seem close to them despite the latter using respectful tone and language. In the end, Adrian could not ask about how to create contracts between souls because that is already at the domain of the gods of death.
[You are now ten years old.]
When Adrian regained his vision, his body is now that of a ten-year-old Telos. Unlike his childlike form, the body of a ten-year-old Telos is about four foot tall which is already a decent height. The things that changed is that his horn bump is now a full out singular curved horn on the right of his head. The horn is still small but it is easy to notice because it is literally a demon horn.
“Still no status screen. Is there a god of stats or something? I do know that there is a God of Skills but is there a God of Stats too? Do they need to die in order for the status screen to appear or something?” Adrian muttered as a two-foot-long violet lizard suddenly scurried around him.
“Kururu! What are you saying, Telos?” Vio stated as it can now form coherent sentences and not just clicking sounds like it did before.
“Are you really a horned lizard, Vio? Why do I get the feeling that you are more than that.” Adrian stated as he rubbed Vio’s belly.
“Telos! Come down! We have a visitor today.” Iremia stated and Adrian had to drop Vio and scurry downstairs.
Adrian then saw Telos’ father along with two other gods that radiated the energy of death. Adrian is already very familiar with death energy and he knows that these two gods were gods of death. He was wondering how he could talk to these two gods because he actually knows one of them. One of the gods is actually the God of Death Hades and another god of death that looked stern and strict.
“Come, my child. Greet the two gods of death that have come to visit us.” Arhizo, Telos’ Father, stated.
Usually, one would not invite gods of death in their houses but this is not the present time where the gods of death are seen to bring upon death. In the old world, the gods of death are respected because they know the difficulty of life and maintain balance between the world of the living and the dead. In fact, there was even a custom back then to never turn away a god or goddess of death that will visit your house.
It is said that if a god or goddess of death visits your house willingly then the family will be prosperous and will live healthy lives. The old world believed that the gods of death bring prosperity as they are also often known for being wealthy gods. This is often true as the gods of death really can bring prosperity to others as blessings if they are in a good mood.
“Hello, father and visitors. Please bear with our humble home.” Adrian stated as he bowed.
“Such a disciplined child, my children were never that disciplined in their age. They were so unruly that they often tore down Hades because of tantrums. What about you Orcus? Do you still remember when my kids basically tore down some of your scrolls? You were really infuriated back then that you locked me into contracts that would make me tired every day for a month.” The God of Death Hades stated.
“If the parents could not discipline their child, then it is the parent’s lack of skill. I merely punished you righteously so that you can instill discipline on your children, Lord Hades. I cannot punish the children since they did not know what was right or wrong at the time. You were too much of a doting father.” The God of Death Orcus stated.
Adrian then stared at the two gods as he wanted to know how can he pop his question. It seems that the two gods noticed his eyes full of curiosity and initiated the conversation. Arhizo and Iremia did not warn Adrian for looking directly at the gods as he is still considered a child and the gods of life and death love children that are curious.
“Apologies, it seems that we did not introduce ourselves to the young one. I am the God of Death Hades which rules one of the death realms called Hades which is also named after me.” The God of Death Hades stated.
“I am the God of Death Orcus and is also a God of Oaths. I unfortunately work for Lord Hades because he is not good with documentation.” The God of Death Orcus stated.
Adrian’s eyes instantly shined because his chance finally came. He was not excited that the powerful God of Death Hades is here but is extremely pleased that the God of Death Orcus is. A god of death that is also a god of vows is something that might hold the clue in creating summoning magic. This might be the fateful encounter that the original Telos had which led to him creating summoning magic at his teenage years.
“If I create summoning magic at a young age, will I get a bonus from the story? Then again, the pacing might just fast forward and bring me to my teenage years.” Adrian thought as he suddenly opened his mouth.
“Can I ask a question, please?” Adrian stated as he looked at the two gods of death.
“I am sorry as my son is rather curious about everything. Even when I am here, our bonding time is usually a question-and-answer game.” Arhizo stated.
“A curious child is good. It means that they have a good brain that can already process things about the world. Ask away, young one.” The God of Death Hades stated.
“Can two souls form a covenant that can link both entities entirely?” Adrian asked as he looked at both gods of death but his attention is really focused on the God of Death Orcus.
The two gods of death thought that Telos’ question would be something like what happens to people after death or are people happy in the afterlife but it was different. It was a question that even made the two gods of death ponder completely if something like that is possible. A covenant between souls is unheard of since covenants are usually binding vows made by two parties.
A covenant that binds two souls is not something that has been done before since souls are literally the one that controls life. If a soul is no longer present in the body, then death usually follows. The fact that two souls can make a covenant that links them is unheard of since it will also share everything to both parties. The soul is also directly related to memories which is why beings with fragmented souls cannot remember much.
“There are no beings that have covenants between souls, young one. Still, it should not be impossible to create one but the magic that will be needed for that is immense. Wagering two souls is wagering two lives after all.” The God of Death Orcus stated with great interest as if he suddenly took interest on Telos’ inquisitive brain.
