Chapter 2652: Revival Failed?

[Kenos would need to hibernate for half a day in order to recover properly.]

“That took more out of me than expected. I am just glad that my own ma circuit did not overload though. Still, the fact that thing is still trying to tamper with space means that it has more strength than I initially thought. Has it recovered to the point that it could just create rifts blindly?” Adrian muttered as he could feel an external force trying to create rifts, but he cleverly twisted the space around the skies of the Dragon Lake Palace.

Adrian did not reinforce the space entirely as doing so would make him go into mana overload. He would need the help of another Arch Demon for that to happen smoothly. Instead, he made a temporary fix where he twisted the space around the skies which meant that anything flying right now would experience disorientation. It also means that rifts created to target the skies above the Dragon Lake Palace would backfire.

“I hope that thing gets blasted away by the backlash.” Adrian thought as that is the most that he could think would happen.

Adrian did not know that him messing with the space above the Dragon Lake Palace made the Corrupted Yellow Emperor destroy a quarter of his restored palace. This even made the Corrupted Yellow Emperor angrier which made him release a pulse of energy that made cracks on his entire palace. In essence, Adrian did what he intended to do and that is prevent the Corrupted Yellow Emperor from creating rifts and making it angrier than before.

“The ceremony is ending. The energy is already becoming thin. The revival is a success.” Adrian muttered as he returned to witness the end of the ceremony.

A final dance was done by the seers as they now carried an instrument that has many bells attached to it. With their last chime, all four of the cores of the divine beasts suddenly glowed brightly. The harmonized elemental energy has settled firmly inside of the cores and solidified the bodies of the Four Cardinal Divine Beasts.

A few moments later, the silhouettes of the Four Cardinal Divine Beasts appeared in the skies of the Dragon Lake Palace. The presence of the Four Cardinal Divine Beasts was also sensed by the people. The faith that was broken because of their deaths suddenly started to recover. The Four Cardinal Divine Beasts revives once more in order to defeat the Corrupted Yellow Emperor.

As soon as the ceremony ended, all of the seers fainted due to exhaustion as it took severe mental strength and even all of their mana to do the ceremony. The silhouettes of the Four Cardinal Divine Beasts also vanished as well. All of the people around the ceremonial altar were waiting for four large divine beasts to appear before them and valiantly lead the charge towards battle against the Corrupted Yellow Emperor.

“Cheep!”

“Hsss!”

“Meow!”

“Bloop!”

Four cute sounds suddenly echoed in the area and made all of those present look at the source. The Four Cardinal Divine Beasts that they believe would be large and mighty that is burning with divine energy were now reduced to small baby forms. The Vermillion Bird of the South now looks like a cute red chick that has a small flaming crown. It even cheeps cutely while coughing out small cinders from its beak.

The Azure Dragon of the East looks like a blue horned viper instead of an actual dragon. The only thing that resembled the azure dragon is its cool blue scales that gives a refined glow. Other than that, the prestige of a dragon could not be seen in the baby form of the Azure Dragon.

The White Tiger of the West is now reduced to the white kitten of the west due to how small it looks. The only resemblance to a tiger is the black stripes around its body. It even had difficulty standing up as if it was a kitten that just was born. It looked incredibly cute instead of the fierce and mighty appearance that the White Tiger of the West had.

The Black Tortoise of the North is now the small turtle of the north. Thankfully, the snake tail is still present, but it looks like a worm due to how small it is. The shell is still black but the wise and regal presence is gone. The only thing left is the lazy looking turtle and the worm looking snake tail that wants to hibernate.

All of the Four Cardinal Divine Beasts did not revive in their most powerful forms. They were all revived as newborns that did not even have a way to fight. Adrian could probably squish one of them and they might end up dead. Seeing that the revived forms of the Four Cardinal Divine Beasts are much to be satisfied, Adrian looked at the grand masters to see if this was really the case.

“Even we do not know if something went wrong.” Grand Master Fu Xi stated.

“We have never seen any of the Four Cardinal Divine Beasts die and be revived.” Grand Mistress Nu Wa stated.

“This is to be expected at the moment.” The Seer of the Azure Dragon stated as she was able to recover from the fainting because it was her soul that took over the body of the trainee shrine maiden.

The trainee shrine maiden that is used as a host would be incredibly tired right now. It is the soul of the Seer of the Azure Dragon that is forcing the fainted body to speak as she is also fading away. Since she has done her duty that prevented her from reincarnating, the Seer of the Azure Dragon’s soul is now being slowly guided back to the afterlife. Adrian and Levin Cloud did not stop the process because it might strain the already tired soul of the seer.

“Can you please elaborate why they became like these?” Levin Cloud asked as he gave the soul of the Seer of the Azure Dragon some energy to at least fight off the drowsiness.

“The masters are currently in these states because the faith of the people for them has waned. In the coming days, they will regain their might forms as they will reclaim the faith of the people. Think of it as a small flame that was just started. Once given enough time and fuel, the flames will grow bigger and bigger until it becomes a raging inferno.

All we need to do is to protect the masters for that period of time as the Corrupted Yellow Emperor has surely sensed their revival. The Seal of Four Directions has started to activate once more as the very presence of our masters are the source of it. What we need now is time as we have lost many that held faith in our masters. Can I leave that to you?” The Seer of the Azure Dragon stated.

“You can leave the future of the eastern continent to us. You have done your duty, and you need to rest. May your soul reach the gates of reincarnation safely.” Adrian stated as he gave a farewell to the Seer of the Azure Dragon.

“Thank you.” The Seer of the Azure Dragon stated as she left the world with a smile.

“I do not care who or what you are but any being that destroys the Dragon Lake Palace and kills the false gods of the four directions shall be ascended to godhood by me!”

“This is an opportunity that I shall not bestow again! I shall reward the ones that succeed! Be it human, monster, demonic beast, or Immortal! Kill the reborn Four Cardinal Divine Beasts and you may take their place as the gods of the four corners!”

“Does it seriously think that the people of the eastern continent would accept its proposal?! If they did that then that is already akin to surrendering to it!” Levin Cloud stated but Adrian and Peridot did not look comfortable.

“All of you! Prepare for battle! We shall defend this place even if our bones get reduced to dust!” Grand Mistress Nu Wa stated as all of the Ryujin, shrine maidens, and guards in the area mobilized to protect the newly reborn divine beasts.

“Will there be a large number of beings that will come?” Levin Cloud asked as he did not believe that the people would believe the lies of the Corrupted Yellow Emperor.

“He declared it using divine power. It is as good as a covenant.” Adrian stated.

“You forget that the eastern continent is a place where all beings strive to ascend to the realm of Divine Immortal. I believe even the divine beasts hiding will stir and attack us.” Peridot added.
