Chapter 2646: Soul Searching in the East III

“Since we are all gathered here, I should now proceed with what is going to happen.” Adrian stated as he relayed all of the things that they will do and what the others need to do.

Adrian told them that him and Levin Cloud will call upon the soul of the deceased Seer of the Azure Dragon using the Soul Calling Ritual. This ancient ceremony is used by users of death magic in the eastern continent to call upon the souls of their ancestors or anyone they need to speak to. This ritual will involve calling the soul of the dead which means anyone with low spirituality should not go near them.

Adrian also told them that the Revival Ceremony for the Four Cardinal Divine Beasts will also happen here once the soul of the Seer of the Azure Dragon is called upon. The soul of the Seer of the Azure Dragon would then be temporarily housed inside the body of the trainee priestess of the Azure Dragon as they would have compatible energies. This would ensure that the revival of the Azure Dragon would be smooth as it would be the actual seer that will do the ceremony.

Adrian also pointed out that they will create a large power vacuum in the area and that the Corrupted Yellow Emperor would likely find this place. It would mean that everyone that has now returned would need to guard the Dragon Lake Palace for what is to come. He also warned them that they should not answer to the voices of the dead should they hear them. The ceremony might open a small opening in the afterlife after all.

“Is everything clear?” Adrian stated with a smile as if what he said is not something out of this world for those before him.

“I think everything is already clear for them. We could now start the process.” Levin Cloud stated as he wanted this to finish early as it is draining his holy power for just maintaining the altar.

“Seems no one has any violent reactions. Let us now start.” Adrian stated as his voice became dark, and his form suddenly shifted to a hooded being with flaming horns and a cloak made of nether energy.

“I guess I should start then.” Levin Cloud stated as his clothes also started to shift into an entirely new thing.

Levin Cloud’s clothes suddenly looked dreary compared to the shining and clean looking version earlier. He now looked like a being that commanded the dead instead of the earlier version where he is a normal holy priest. Just as they have done before, Adrian and Levin Cloud sliced their palms and then let their blood drip towards the ceremonial altar.

As soon as their blood dropped onto the ceremonial altar, the sound of songs and then bells lingered in the area. The temperature became colder as mist suddenly started to form around them as well. The sound of voices muddled in the air started to surround them but there was no definitive source. The area of the Dragon Lake Palace that looked serene and beautiful suddenly became creepy as time went on.

Those that were tasked to guard the gates outside were already sent away while those that remained could not move their bodies. A shiver would go up in their spines as if something or someone cold is gripping it. The faint sound of screams and laughter echoed which made those with weak spirituality almost faint. Since the two that is leading the ceremony said that they should not interact with what is happening, the ones that remained could only focus on the two chanting the ceremonial rites.

By focusing on the Adrian and Levin Cloud, the people that left were able to clear out their heads as if the two beings that led the ceremony have a warding effect against the paranormal. Adrian and Levin Cloud were deep into their ceremonial rites that they seem to innately know despite this being the first time they did a full legitimate ceremony. As soon as they finished speaking the last rites, the area around them suddenly gone up in flames.

The flames were not flames that burn but spiritual flames as they were white in color compared to the usual red or orange. As soon as the white spiritual flames came up, a large iron door suddenly appeared at the very center of it all. No one even noticed when the door appeared, but it was just suddenly there when they looked.

At the same time of the appearance of the Gate of the Afterlife, the skies above the Dragon Lake Palace changed. The clear skies suddenly became dark and twisted but there was no sign of rain or lightning. The clouds just looked ominous as a large portion of death energy pooled over in the area as if they were attracted by something. The pool of death energy in the skies became a phenomenon that the users of the dark arts in the eastern continent look as auspicious.

It is not just the users of the dark arts that noticed this pool of energy in the sky as the Corrupted Yellow Emperor also felt it. The Corrupted Yellow Emperor did not know why but its instinct tells it that this phenomenon must be stopped. The energy that is being gathered in that area is enough to summon a god to descend to the ground which bypasses the initial guards that it has set up.

“I cannot leave my golden palace right now, but I can send my soldiers.” The Corrupted Yellow Emperor stated as he created more golden sand soldiers with the souls of those that bent the knee towards it.

“Move my soldiers and discover the source of this anomaly! Destroy any being that comes in your way!” The Corrupted Yellow Emperor stated as it released a dark gold mist around the sand soldiers that it has created using the souls of beings that bowed before it.

The sand soldiers looked like normal humans wearing incredible golden armor, but their appearances suddenly changed when exposed to the dark gold mist created by the Corrupted Yellow Emperor. The sand soldiers that looked human now had draconic traits added onto them when the dark gold mist cleared. Sharp dragon claws, dragon horns, a dragon tail, and dragon wings for a way to move in the skies.

The Corrupted Yellow Emperor imbued its hand and turned it into a more draconic looking hand before slicing through the sky. The Corrupted Yellow Emperor created a large rift that is unstable but leads towards the skies of the Dragon Lake Palace. It was a very amateur attempt, but the Corrupted Yellow Emperor was able to create a spatial rift despite not having full control of the eastern continent as of the moment.

With the rift finally opened, the draconic sand soldiers opened their wings and flew towards the rift. All of them flew at incredible speeds that surpassed what normal flying monsters could do. The Corrupted Yellow Emperor is also keeping an eye out for what is coming. It will not have any setbacks on its quest to conquer the entire eastern continent.

A rift suddenly forming atop the skies of the Dragon Lake Palace is a cause for alarm to the grandmasters. They also witnessed the beings that came out of the rift as well and they know too well what it is. Beings created by the Corrupted Yellow Emperor emerged from the rift and are following the place where the large energy is being siphoned to.

“The Corrupted Yellow Emperor is growing stronger and stronger by the day. It has already regained some of the abilities that the Yellow Emperor had.” Grand Mistress Nu Wa stated.

“It has indeed grown stronger, but it cannot take action personally which means that it is tied to whatever it is currently doing. The only way it could check this area is to send some minions.” Grand Master Fu Xi stated.

“This also means we have a chance to severely weaken its strength by destroying every being it created. It must have taken it considerable amounts of energy to create those sand dolls filled with the souls of warriors.” Grand Mistress Nu Wa stated.

“Yes, indeed. Warriors of the Dragon Lake Palace! Defend our home!” Grand Master Fu Xi stated as he raised his sword and charged towards the battlefield along with the other guards.

“He has not seen action in such a long time that he now craves it. I guess I should support him fully.” Grand Mistress Nu Wa stated as she started to release countless elemental buffs and spells to support the entire army.

While the outside world is going crazy because of the strange phenomenon that Adrian and Levin Cloud created, the large iron door suddenly started to open slowly. As soon as the door opened slightly, a powerful pressure was brought down onto the entire area that made all of those except for Adrian and Levin Cloud to bow down.
