Chapter 2589: Split Into Two Teams I
Chapter 2589: Split Into Two Teams I
When Adrian suddenly said that Kami is already moving towards the northern area, all of them looked at him with a bewildered face. From what he said earlier, the fight with Kami in the southern territory has resulted in them losing lots of major forces. They were not expecting that most of them would be wiped out.
“Are you sure about this information, mediator?” Grand Mistress Nu Wa asked.
“I am certain because the enemy that has an oni mask that I have used a tracking talisman on is now proceeding towards the northern area of the eastern continent. It was such a good idea that I did not kill him in our encounter earlier or else the tracking talisman would have been destroyed.” Adrian stated.
Adrian did not just put one talisman on the enemy, but he also placed one on Tai. He knew that Chiyou might notice the tracking talisman or his energy might disrupt the flow in it which might result it in not working. In the end, he proceeded to attach one on Tai as well and held off on killing the player. Anything attached to players are destroyed once they are killed if it is applied by another player hence his decision to spare Tai.
“Kimat did not like my decision though. Then again, I did promise him that he could play with Tai when we do end up facing each other again.” Adrian added.
Kimat really wanted to kill Tai because he killed or participated in killing one of the Elemental Feline Kings. Kimat is like a symbol of authority and power in the Elemental Feline King line that the White Tiger of the West might even bow before him if they had met. In the end, Adrian promised that he will not interfere should they meet again.
“You managed to attach trackers on them?!” Peridot shouted in shock.
“Yes. It was not easy, but I managed to do it since they were pre-occupied and is in a field full of illusions that Sirius used. Sneaking an undetectable talisman that wears off in a day was the easy part compared to the build up needed to attach it.” Adrian stated which made their jaw drop.
It is not that Adrian did something unbelievable, but he did something that even the Ryujin could not pull off. Given the fact that Ryujin were not masters of stealth and espionage, the Ryujin could contact masters of stealth that are which is the Heihudie Clan. Even the notorious and secretive Heihudie Clan failed in tailing and attacking trackers on suspected members of Kami.
They were already working with the Heihudie Clan via their connection with the Vermillion Bird of the South. It has been months but there was no information on their hideout as if Kami was a ghost organization. Adrian suddenly saying that he did something that a famed clan of stealth users cannot is mind-blowing.
“You do remember that we have secret eyes on the world, right? Daemos might look like we are brutes and masters of exploding things, but we are very observant. We are also masters of stealth when put into practice.” Adrian stated.
“Slipping into a higher dimension is not something that can be designated as stealth though. You are ruining the images of ninjas for me.” Levin Cloud added.
“Never mind the details! Tell us where they are so we could attack them in their own base.” Peridot stated.
“In that case we have a problem.” Adrian stated.
“Why? Did the signal suddenly cut off?” Peridot added.
“They did not move their entire organization towards the north. It seems only Tai is going to the northern area while the other one that I tagged, Chiyou, is staying at their base.” Adrian stated as he took out a map that visualizes the general area and direction of the eastern continent. He even made small tags for Tai and Chiyou to differentiate the both of them.
“If I am correct, Chiyou should be at their base because he is recovering from his wounds. Tai headed to the north as he could have easily healed himself. Kimat did not thrash him badly enough because I stopped him.” Adrian stated.
“That place!” Grand Mistress Nu Wa stated as she saw the place where Chiyou’s tag is.
“Do you know that place, master?” Peridot asked.
“Yes. That place is inside one of the forbidden zones of the eastern continent. It is also where the main altar where the Seal of the Four Directions is being maintained. From what I know, it should be the Emei Sect that is guarding that place. It is also considered as a Holy Land to martial artists or Immortals as that sect only accepts female disciples.” Grand Mistress Nu Wa stated.
“If that is the case then maybe they have been conspiring against all of Murim then. Who was the original founder of the Emei Sect?” Adrian asked.
“From what I know during that time, the Emei Sect is founded by a powerful woman warrior that is extremely loyal to her husband. I think she might still be alive as she vowed to never marry another man unless her husband revives.” Grand Master Fu Xi stated.
“Could it have been founded by one of the fallen gods then? They can revive even in death after all as they will enter the cycle of reincarnation should even their demigod spark gets destroyed.” Adrian added.
“Why did I not think of that and investigate it?! We were always told by the Murim Alliance to back off against their authority. Maybe one of the fallen gods have gotten control of powerful families in the Murim Alliance and used that to push us out. I should have doubted it when some of them started to push away the teachings of my husband.” Grand Mistress Nu Wa stated.
“I mean if they can reincarnate into mortals endlessly then at least a couple of them could have landed in families of the Murim Alliance. Some might have even landed a good life, and they are living in palaces as royal family members. There are a lot of noble families in the eastern continent after all.” Adrian added which added to the dread and misstep that the Grand Master Fu Xi and Grand Mistress Nu Wa is accounting for.
“I did read one of the reports that is sent to us that the Murim Alliance has been struck as some families and sects started to betray them. I think the Emei Sect is one of them according to the reports.” Peridot stated as she was the one reading the reports regarding the Murim Alliance.
“We thought they have quieted down and accepted their reality, but they were actually building power in different ways. Betrayal is not new to the Murim Alliance which is why we dismissed the notion of it earlier but with the mediator’s news then it all ties in. They have planned for this for too long and only struck when they have already sunk their teeth into high society.” Grand Master Fu Xi stated.
“They may hate being mortals, but they sure did plan like one.” Adrian commented as it was ironic.
The only reason that the Ryujin did not mind the fallen gods as much is due to the fact that they hated being human. They also retained their thinking ways as a god which is why they never anticipated that they will actually use a very human approach. All the schemes from the shadows is definitely something only humans can think of as gods are proud of their power and do not care for secrecy. Secrecy is a bane to gods as they grow more powerful as long as they are made known.
“What should we do then? Should we raid their base or go help the Black Tortoise of the North?” Levin Cloud asked.
“We should split up.” Adrian stated.
“Is it not better if we grouped up and helped the Black Tortoise of the North?” Peridot asked.
“I need to raid their base because that is where the Samadhi True Fire is. I might have overlooked in saying this, but the Samadhi True Fire is not really a divine flame. It is a fragment soul of an Asmodian.” Adrian stated which shocked even more of them.
Grand Master Fu Xi and Grand Mistress Nu Wa knew the weight of Adrian’s words as any piece of an Asmodian is not something taken lightly. Even gods would fight over a treasure or legacy of an Asmodian as they were created by Chaos itself. If Kami actually knew that the Samadhi True Fire is a fragment of an Asmodian’s soul, then they might have abandoned their plans entirely and found ways to make use of it.
“If they had a Seer then why did they not find out that it was an Asmodian’s soul fragment?” Peridot asked.
“Seers can only divine the living. They cannot see the future of a being that is already dead.” Adrian replied.
