Chapter 2577: Vermillion Bird Against Three-Legged Crow II

The Vermillion Bird of the South could that its attacks are not effective against the Three-Legged Crow. The dark sun barrier that fizzled all of the long-ranged attacks of the Vermillion Bird of the South made it difficult to defeat the Three-Legged Crow. The two divine beasts may have unleashed their most powerful forms, but they are still in a stalemate.

“If you are not going to get serious then I shall alleviate you of the thing that is making you unable to focus on the match. Ten Thousand Dark Suns!” The Three-Legged Crow shouted as its body suddenly turned into dark flames that rose to the sky.

The dark flames then created numerous small dark suns that are small in nature. Even if they are small, the dark suns were all filled with powerful flames that could scorch the entire city with just one of them. The fact that the Three-Legged Crow has created thousands of them is a testament to its seriousness in erasing the things that worry the Vermillion Bird of the South.

The Vermillion Bird of the South did not even say anything as it also dissipated its body and the crimson mandala beads dispersed to all corners of the city. A barrier that is filled with golden flames has protected Vermillion City in the shape of a large divine bird. The thousands of dark suns descended onto the ground and laid the devastation.

The barrier shook with each dark sun that hit it, and Vermillion City is not the only area that is safe. The very outskirt of the city is razed in dark flames that destroyed all life that touched it. Only a scorching black inferno is left outside the city as the Vermillion Bird of the South did not protect it from stray dark suns. The numerous dark suns that descended continued in bombing the entire city for half an hour before the Three-Legged Crow regained its form.

The dark flames that burned got sucked back up into the skies and formed the Three-Legged Crow. It was the dark flames itself as it used its purely elemental body to destroy everything around it or at least it tried to. The Three-Legged Crow cannot believe and will not admit that the city protected by the Vermillion Bird of the South was still in place without any damage.

The Three-Legged Crow enlarged its wings in preparation for another attack when a powerful golden flame tornado shot towards it. The origin of the golden flame tornado is the barrier which is composed of the body of the Vermillion Bird of the South itself. The Three-Legged Crow was unable to swiftly evade as it loses quite a bit of mobility each time it reforms its body.

The Three-Legged Crow got hit with a full blast of the Vermillion Bird of the South’s attack. The Three-Legged Crow got pushed back further into the skies which the Vermillion Bird of the South followed. The crimson red mandala beads circled with each other again and the Vermillion Bird of the South reformed its body before shooting towards the Three-Legged Crow.

The Vermillion Bird of the South tacked the body of the Three-Legged Crow and pushed it farther back into the atmosphere itself. The two divine beasts looked at each other and glared because they know that only one of them will survive in this fight. Still, the Three-Legged Crow taunted the Vermillion Bird of the South as it believed that it actually abandoned its followers.

“You preach about guiding and helping humanity, but you abandoned them to fight me. In the end, you will die, and I shall raze all of them to turn them to ash. They will accompany you in the afterlife as I will send them off once I am done with you.” The Three-Legged Crow stated as it used its dark sun to cover its entire body with the darkest of flames.

“You thought that I abandoned them when I have given them the best chance to survive without you there. Did you think that I did not sense the other Ascendant Immortals that came with you? I believe they are those fallen gods that wish to return back to their throne. You speak a great deal about being king when you are merely a lapdog of the fallen gods.” The Vermillion Bird of the South stated which angered the Three-Legged Crow as it was embarrassing due to it being true.

“You are dead!” The Three-Legged Crow shouted as it charged with its body cloaked in the dark sun and planned to end the life of the Vermillion Bird of the South.

“You will never be able to defeat me.” The Vermillion Bird of the South stated calmly as it created a golden sun around it and charged towards the Three-Legged Crow.

Back on the ground, the enemy army halted its advance because of the bombarded did by the Three-Legged Crow. They were unable to get closer because of the dark flames that burned even them. Chiyou had to personally command all of them to release their qi barriers to protect themselves. He told them to attack once the dark flames vanish as he knows that the flames are the Three-Legged Crow.

“Seriously, that troublesome bird cannot do anything right without direct orders. It almost burned us alive in the process of its battle.” Vixen stated.

“It also halted the other army’s advance, so we just returned a stalemate.” Tai stated.

“Tai is definitely correct. I am such a dummy for not realizing it!” Vixen stated as she clung to Tai’s arm.

“Keep your hormones for now and focus on the task at hand.” Tama stated.

“Why are you so afraid of? The Vermillion Bird of the South is no longer here to protect them. Look!” Vixen stated as all of them witnessed the push back done by the Vermillion Bird of the South towards the Three-Legged Crow.

“It actually abandoned the city?! Did it think that we are not here?” Tama stated.
