As soon as Levin Cloud absorbed all of the harsh memories tied to the Winter Tree, he found himself in a peculiar place where the floor is made of ice. The area around him was also different from what he initially saw as there are small huts and a large snow-white tree. He immediately knew that this was a mental scape a place created by the mind, but this was not inside his own.

“You are correct, Mediator of Life.” A voice that contained the cold and frigid air stated which made Levin Cloud look at the source.

Before Levin Cloud was a being that took on a humanoid shape, but their body is made of ice and snow. They took on the form of a woman with large snowflakes as her crown. Levin Cloud knew that this was none other than the will of the Winter Tree as her pure white dress had tainted black ink located below her feet.

“You must be the Winter Tree.” Levin Cloud stated.

“Yes, Mediator of Life. I am the Winter Tree, and this is my own subconscious world. The only part of me that I can actively control. I might have slowed down the poison, but I can no longer control my body. The Frost Elves have tainted my body with the blood of the Frost Elemental King for so long that I fear the Everlasting Winter may approach.” The Winter Tree stated.

“The Everlasting Winter is real?!” Levin Cloud exclaimed in shock.

“It is real as it is tied to my death and rebirth. Upon my death, the Everlasting Winter will cover the northern continent, but my rebirth will transform it anew. This natural phenomenon should have only happened when you and the champion have attained Demigod status, but the betrayal of the Frost Elves hastened it. I and the Frost Elemental King have been using what we can use in order to delay it even more.” The Winter Tree stated.

“Where is the Frost Elemental King? He should also be here as I have seen both of you fuse together.” Levin Cloud asked.

“The Frost Elemental King is getting ready to save the souls of those that will be sacrificed just like those that have been sacrificed before. Still, I believe that you will be safe for now as they do not have the ability to easily cast such powerful magic.” The Winter Tree stated.

“Wait!!! I am being sacrificed?!” Levin Cloud exclaimed in great shock.

“Yes. This is the reason that you have been captured instead of killed. They will likely use a forbidden spell to control your body and mind. They will then fuse your body to mine as they wanted to control my power. If they gain the power to control me then they can remove the effects of the curse that we used.” The Winter Tree stated.

“Great curse by the way. You should have killed all of them if you had the chance but still… good job.” Levin Cloud stated as he gave a thumbs up.

“We would have killed them if we could, but the descending distorted god was more of the problem. The best we could do is create a curse that will mess with the forbidden magic siphoning our life force. The curse fortunately activated and is applied to all of the Frost Elves which led to the forbidden magic’s activation energy to diminish. Still, the side effects of such curse also became the prison that we are in right now. A body that cannot be controlled which led to the entire northern continent being engulfed in harsher winters.” The Winter Tree stated.

“Tell me. Did they also used parts of your body to create weapons or artifacts?” Levin Cloud asked as he remembered that sword being used by the Frost Elf Warrior Leader.

“Unfortunately, they have found a way to craft them using parts of my body that they defiled. They might not have been demigods or gods, but they managed to do it through blood sacrifice. My body should have been impenetrable when it comes to beings that do not have divinity, but I am fused with the Frost Elemental King.

The blood of those that he blessed became a weak point in my own defenses. Almost all of the Frost Elves here are equipped with an accessory that contains a small part of me. The only ones that have a huge chunk of my essence are the three Fros High Elves that remained. They sacrificed the cherished child of the Frost Elemental King to carve out essential parts of me.

All three of those Frost High Elves forged them into weapons that they use now. Since those three managed to carve out essential parts of me, all of their weapons are powered by my essence. It would have been possible for a demigod to wield them as is, but the Frost High Elves are not beings with divinity. They needed to gather energy from my body through blood sacrifice in order to activate their weapons.” The Winter Tree stated.

“I see. This means that their weapons are basically rechargeable as long as they sacrificed people with the blood of the Frost Elemental King. I guess this is the reason why there were some people that are captured with me. They cannot sacrifice me to power up their power relic weapons which is why they needed an alternative. To think that more people will die because of me.” Levin Cloud stated as he started to think of things to escape this predicament and save all those that were captured.

“I apologize, Mediator.” The Winter Tree stated.

“No need to apologize as this is not a problem that you have created. If the Frost High Elves of the era back, then were sensible and committed then they would not have agreed to a proposal from a distorted god. Do you have any idea that can help me out here?” Levin Cloud stated.

“That is the reason I am apologizing, Mediator of Life. Unfortunately, even I do not have a way to help you. The best I can do is pull you here to my inner subconscious as this is the only part that I can control in my body. The poison of the distorted god has already festered for far too long in my body that parts of me have already succumbed to it and created evil versions of me.” The Winter Tree stated.

“This luck of mine really is so bad. There is even an evil side of you that can be released if we do manage to defeat all of the frost elves. If I get sacrificed, then that is basically character deletion which should not happen. I just hope that all of you will find me in time.” Levin Cloud muttered as he is trying to see if he could actively move his body as he needs to find a loophole.

“So, the Winter Tree is still alive. Lead the way to the domain.” Adrian commanded as the possessed Frost Elf Scout moved like a zombie.

“Will we reach him in time if he moves like that?” Peridot stated in irritation as she really wanted to hurry up.

“He is in a precarious position as I cannot send him any messages even via the messaging system. I think this might be equal to a Continental Quest. I completed this once with the help of the Valkyries and I can feel that this is related to the northern continent. I just hope my instincts are not true as this would elevate the difficulty to a large margin.” Frey stated.

“I am more worried about Levin Cloud getting sacrificed. In Pandemonium, a player getting sacrificed means their account will be deleted.” Adrian stated as the possessed Frost Elf Scout did tell them that they needed to sacrifice the Forest Guardian.

“Please not that.” Peridot stated.

“That is the worse outcome. It would devastate him.” Frey stated as she is worried.

“Oh no. She is worried about him crying all month long. If he loses something he cherishes and worked hard for then I will never hear the end of it. Charon, activate all your control as we need to save Levin Cloud now.” Adrian stated as the possessed Frost Elf Scout suddenly twisted and contorted to the point that they could hear the bones cracking.

“Lady Frey, I hope to accompany you, but I am afraid I cannot.” Village Chief Taran stated as she really wanted to be part of the rescue squad.

“We will manage on our own as this village needs you now more than ever. The number of warriors decreased because they were taken and that means the village’s defenses has plummeted. I promise that we will do our best to save those that were captured. Instead, inform all of the other chiefs that the Frost Elves have returned.” Frey stated.

“I will. Please take this with you to help you on the way.” Village Chief Taran stated as she gave trinkets to all of them.
