Chapter 6560 Throne vs. Throne
Chapter 6560 Throne vs. Throne
A divine throne was the ultimate symbol of status in the Brahma line—proof that one was beneath only a single being and above all others.
The Brahma line was the largest and strongest god legacy in the nine heavens. As a result, both Lord Brahma and Fallen Daynight were called venerates amongst gods. The two of them were equal, and both held up the Brahma line.
However, Fallen Daynight remained far more mysterious, with far fewer disciples. Unlike Lord Brahma, he did not recruit widely. It was said that Fallen Daynight was cold and aloof, too proud to accept just any disciple. His selection requirements were very harsh, so it was rare to see experts from his branch.
Still, no one in the Brahma line dared to be disrespectful to Fallen Daynight. Lord Brahma and Fallen Daynight had equal status—supreme.
Within the Brahma line, status was strictly hierarchical. Only eight individuals were permitted to sit in the presence of Lord Brahma and Fallen Daynight in the Brahma Palace; everyone else had to stand or kneel. These eight were the eight great divine commanders. Meanwhile, the divine sons did not even have their own seats. It was a clear reflection of the divine commanders’ unparalleled standing.
These seats were more than symbols. They were thrones, channels through which the divine commanders could tap into a portion of the Brahma line’s faith energy. These eight seats were called the divine thrones. They were the totemic essence of the eight commanders themselves.
Long Can’s divine throne emitted a vast divine aura that shook the world, leaving the onlookers short of breath.
Faith energy continuously fell from the divine throne, shaking the world. Its supreme law authority was enough to make Sovereign Lords with eight Sovereign bodies tremble, leaving even the mightiest unable to resist its will.
And yet, the white-robed Long Chen simply stood there with an indulgent expression. The blood-colored Evilmoon was lazily resting on his shoulder. He didn’t look surprised or pressured at all.
“Only those with a divine throne are fit to call themselves this lord. You think an ant like you qualifies?![1]”
Long Can’s voice roared across the heavens as she seemed to ascend to godhood. Divine flames erupted around her, illuminating the sky, as if the ten thousand Daos and laws bowed to her will.
“You haven’t entered the Divine Sovereign realm, so you cannot truly wield law power. Even a throne only boosts your strength—it doesn’t have any qualitative transformation,” the white-robed Long Chen said casually.
“Even so, it’s enough to kill an ant like you!” roared Long Can savagely.
She truly hated Long Chen to the bone. To think that she would be forced to summon her divine throne just to kill a half-step Sovereign Lord... She would still be a laughingstock even if she killed Long Chen.
Thinking of how Le Xing would mock her later on, she went crazy.
She extended her hand, and her divine throne quivered as endless law runes condensed into a colossal claw, reaching for Long Chen.
“Heavens, this level of speed...!” All the spectating Sovereign Lords were shocked. As Sovereign Lords, they had also reached the threshold of touching law power.
Law power allowed one to seize the very force of natural laws. The principle was to form a resonance between them to unleash law divine abilities. While it sounded simple, it was actually incredibly complex.
Not all Sovereign Lords could condense essence runes, and fewer could synchronize their essence runes perfectly with natural laws. Moreover, even if a resonance formed, it was not easy to control it.
As the white-robed Long Chen had said, this era no longer belonged to the senior generation. The new wave of heavenly geniuses had condensed complete essence runes, allowing them to reach the realm of law power at will. Law domains had thus become the true hallmark of the new era.
The senior generation, however, remained focused on condensing their quintessence Sovereign bodies. Without sufficiently powerful Sovereign bodies, they could not hope to wield law power.
In the heaven region’s battlefield, some heavenly geniuses could summon law domains at will. But amongst the senior generation, only those with three Sovereign bodies and more could reach this level. Moreover, not all of them were guaranteed to be able to do that.
In fact, even a cultivator with seven or even eight Sovereign bodies, who could control law power and unleash law divine abilities, would hesitate to unleash a law divine ability. Whenever they attempted such a thing, it would be like walking on a rope over an abyss.
That was because law power was extremely difficult to control. It demanded perfect balance between one’s own internal force and the natural laws of heaven and earth—a harmony that even Sovereign Lords struggled to maintain. Yet, if there was one misstep, the backlash could be catastrophic.
That was the difference. Even a Sovereign Lord with eight Sovereign bodies would require significant preparation and cast time to summon a law divine ability. Yet, Long Can executed hers instantly with just a raise of her hand. This toppled everyone’s understanding of law divine abilities.
“So, this is the power of a divine commander?” whispered one of the onlookers.
Finally, they understood why the Brahma line, despite having countless followers, only possessed eight divine commanders.
Long Can’s giant hand covered the entire battlefield and was incomparably fast. There was no time for Long Chen to react.
“Long Chen is definitely dead!” one person exclaimed.
“Not necessarily. Long Can probably wants to capture him alive.”
“That’s right, just look at her expression. She definitely doesn’t want to let him off so easily.”
BOOM!
Suddenly, the large hand composed of law runes exploded, revealing a giant throne among the devastation.
“What?!”
Another divine throne?
At first, they thought that some peerless expert had come to save Long Chen, but then they saw that this white throne was actually floating behind Long Chen.
This throne looked white and glossy like jade, yet it exuded endless black qi. Upon closer observation, the jade-like throne was actually made of countless bones.
The black qi swirling around it was actually black flames, which contained a will to incinerate all things within heaven and earth.
The moment this throne manifested, the heavens dimmed. Ten thousand Daos rumbled as the white-robed Long Chen appeared to survey the world like a Heavenly Sovereign.
“Heavens, is this throne Long Chen’s?” Terrified screams rang out. No one dared to believe it.
How could Long Chen condense a divine throne? It was impossible. Yet, that throne was clearly right behind him, its law power swirling around him. If this throne wasn’t his, whose could it be?
“How is this possible?! Long Chen has no god legacy! How can he possess a divine throne?!” Countless people stared in disbelief at this face-off between two thrones.
“Foolish woman,” Long Chen said coolly, his eyes on the stunned Long Can, “do you still question what this lord calls himself?”
1. “This lord” is a haughty way to refer to oneself. More specifically, it refers to a seat, or throne, that the speaker would possess as a king/ruler. ☜
