Chapter 633: Gathering Asteroids
Deep inside the fortress of Porrelom were the united armies of Cecilia, Haresha, and Porrelom.
It was a fortress that no one dared to invade though many plans to quash the alliance of the Presiders with the Earthlings were constantly being broadcast.
Haresha was now back on her Throne. She was alive and was being guarded by many constrictions that were within her main body.
Various devices were placed in her body and operated on her. One was a soul-sealing device that would force her soul to be unable to depart and move outside of her Throne. Porrelom also altered her Throne, and numerous explosives were planted in the Throne itself. The explosions of these devices would be equal to nuclear bombs.
Porrelom had one detonator, Seeker had another, and after much demand of Haresha to prevent it, the last one was held by Vender, who almost pressed on it three times until even Seeker had to slice the arm of Vender off.
It regrew, and Vender nearly pressed the button again.
Regardless of such bizarre instances, Vender remains the third person to hold it.
In the past days, unknown to everyone, even Seeker, Jake had often visited Haresha and spoken to her.
Haresha was using Virgo, which appeared not to have any physical manifestations but allowed Jake the chance and opportunity to visit Haresha unnoticed by the others.
It started as a simple relay of his gratitude towards Haresha.
Haresha spoke with Jake, and the two talked for nearly an hour.
Haresha was not in the mood for tricking and using Jake. The revelation of her not being a Conqueror shocked her. And so she opened up to Jake. As a Presider, she had never before opened up like that. In her most hopeless and painful moments, she would always bottle it up. But somehow, Virgo was leading her to him, and she allowed herself to pour out all her pains and hurts.
Her confusion and her identity were being questioned. She had lost to Perrolom, who didn't even call himself a Conqueror. Her very own power led her to Jake.
At first, Haresha was trying just to find some sense in her true state. But her talks with Jake gave her a profound sense of peace. An addictive peace.
Jake unknowingly had also grown addicted to the talks. He could tell that, unlike the traitorous NTR-like scenarios that Arthur had thrown him in, Haresha was sincere and could not sense any form of trap.
The two met almost every day.
Soon, Jake found out that Virgo led her to him. And Jake felt very moved.
Within the Throne, a Presider and an Earthling made love for the first time in this timeline.
But even with such passionate meetings, the power of Virgo protected them.
Seeker and the rest had so much to prepare, and finally, the plans of the invasion were laid out for all three Presiders.
Haresha and Porrelom were on their Throne. While Cecilia was not.
"Asteroids?" Cecilia asked.
"Yes."
"Hurling asteroids to Earth?" Cecilia asked again.
"Yes."
"Hurling asteroids to Earth on numerous cities?" Cecilia asked once more to confirm.
"Yes."
"Sounds crazy. But I think I understand why you want to do that." Porrelom laughed.
Haresha was also amazed at how Seeker and the rest made the plans.
It was clear that many were not comfortable with the plans, but they all had the mindset of Presiders. They knew that in this battle, great sacrifices must be made and how they could act with such cruelty against their allies.
"I have to admit. Your plan is quite shocking. To think you could sacrifice thousands and thousands of lives to win this. You guys truly are at our level." Haresha laughed.
"Yeah. I would never have guessed such insanity. And throwing meteors on Earth is something even I won't expect!"
"Arthur told us about it. There's some in-fighting among us, and the in-fighting seems to work. Although, I can't understand why Arthur and Alean are fighting..."
"Neither can I. I can't accurately copy Alean and Arthur and guess what's happening."
"Are you guys even trying? When those two peak, we cannot fathom what this could be about. Leave them to their task. You're only wasting time and precious energy thinking about it." Lowengren chuckled.
"Lowengren's right. I'm uncomfortable with what we must do, but this is our only chance."
"And you're asking us to help?" Haresha asked.
"I want you guys to do most of it. I and my friends will be focused on bringing down a large one. One that could destroy the Earth. My allies will use that to see the results of their training and practices."
"You're insane. You guys will hurl a meteor down to Earth that could destroy it to see if you guys improve?"
"We've always Overcome when the stakes are far above our capabilities. My allies should now be able to produce mini-nuclear attacks with their respective powers. And this should push them to grow even further."
"Let's say you do manage to block the meteor. What next? The invasion of the Presiders will quickly follow that. Your planet will be invaded!" Cecilia exclaimed.
"...Their plan was to let it be invaded." Porrelom guessed.
"Right. You never planned to defend our invasion?"
"Why would we? You guys have a bias of thinking that this battle is between Earth and Aliens. But it's really a battle between Presiders and us, Lost Presiders. We have already fortified our homes. When you all land, it will be a battle as Alexander, who is Lanterk, Pridgeon, and the other powerful Presiders like Marrho will begin their hunt. We already know that many nations are destined to be our enemies. So we will let them be but push it to an advantage that those that can be saved and become our allies will do so."
"But that's illogical! No matter what, your allies are scattered all over the world! It's going to be a disadvantage!" Haresha added.
"Yeah, Zeek. I feel that it's stupid that we allow Earth to be invaded. I mean, we guys should stick together." Meryl answered.
"And yet... somehow, our Zone is telling us that this could be the best way. I think..."
"I think that through our divided state, we will become stronger. Is that it? This is why we shower Earth with meteors, allow the Presiders to invade the skies, and turn nations against us. All so that we would overcome?" Cliff asked.
"Yes. That... and so much more. You guys just fight and watch. I'm very much anticipating the events that will follow." Seeker smiled mysteriously. Very few knew what would happen in the coming chaos. Seeker knew that an important event would happen. And from the looks of it, Arthur had also guessed it.
"You've been keeping it a secret since the start. I have my guesses... But even if my guess is right, I still won't believe it..." Lowengren sighed.
Seeker smiled and gave Lowengren a meaningful look.
"Seeing is believing, brother. In any case, the asteroids that are being held back by Mars's gravitational pull are close by. It's time to get to work. Our difficulty is to do this without causing others to get suspicious."
"Yeah... I made Vender take care of that. He's broadcasting our plans to throw more meteors on Earth." Lowengren chuckled.
"What?!" Many exclaimed.
"Hey, learn to embrace the chaos!" Lowengren laughed.
Seeker and a few others sprinted out of their meeting room and could hear the broadcast of Vender.
"So just like this, Bruce Willis saves the Earth. Unlike the other movie, where a small asteroid hits the Earth and creates massive tsunamis. But that was also a good movie. Still, it doesn't have Matt Damon and doesn't have an epic soundtrack... I don't wanna close my eyes! I don't want to fall asleep! Cause I miss you, babe! And I don't wanna miss a thing. Ahem. Er- Anyway... We want this movie to happen. But in our version, the meteor falls and kills a lot of people. We hope that Earth will be angry at yall by making this happen. So, me and my friends will go out there and pull meteors to Earth. Ok? So don't try to stop us; we're doing you guys a favor." Vender asked politely.
"Vender! How long have you been talking!?" Seeker exclaimed.
"Huh? I don't know. Around three minutes ago?"
"We have reports that several Presiders are moving out of the ship. They seemed to be headed for the nearest asteroids and have begun gathering them. I'm guessing that they are going to hurl the asteroids to Earth." Porrelom reported.
"...Well, I guess that saves us the trouble. But it would be problematic if they were to hurl some meteors at our allies." Seerk frowned.
"Let's observe. We can attack and harass the Presiders that are moving asteroids in a direction that would attack our allies."
"Hm? Marrho is requesting to communicate with us." Porrelom reported.
"Marrho?" Lynd frowned.
At once, the devices within the fortress began to flicker as lightning energy forced the connection.
"Presiders and Earthlings. I am-"
KZZT!
The signal suddenly stopped as an electric current fought against Marrho's electrical hijacking.
"Hmp! Living lightning, my Jolteon! I am the only one worthy of that title!" Lennox declared.
