Chapter 194: Annihilated by Sunlight

Cheng Pi was about to lash out at Edward when Yu Xian's voice suddenly rang beside his ear.

"Don't act rashly. He's trying to provoke you."

Cheng Pi immediately snapped back to his senses and realized that Edward had been trying to draw information out of him. Had he taken the bait, he would undoubtedly have retorted in anger and accidentally revealed that Bat was still alive.

Revealing Bat's survival alone was not a very significant matter. The real problem was that it would also expose the existence of the Huaxia Pocket Dimension.

No one was certain what had happened to Huaxia. For now, it was effectively in a state of "feigned death." If Cheng Pi brought Huaxia out of hiding and into the open, Edward would begin scheming relentlessly for a way to enter the pocket dimension.

When people were uncertain about something, they would never devote themselves to an undertaking that could prove fruitless. Only when their objective was clear would they commit all their effort to overcoming every obstacle before them.

Edward was currently uncertain whether Huaxia still existed. That was precisely why he had tried to trick Cheng Pi into revealing the answer.

After understanding Edward's intention, Cheng Pi simply remained silent. He took a deep breath. Then, under Edward's expectant gaze, he kicked the vampire holding the phone.

It was a completely unexpected move. Moreover, the phone transmission had a slight delay. Since Edward had yet to see the surprise attack on his screen, he failed to protect the vampire in time.

A single kick was all it took to blow apart the head of that vampire. For a low-ranked vampire, such an injury was fatal.

Cheng Pi smoothly took the phone from the dead vampire's hand. Holding the camera close to his face, he said coldly, "Edward, I'm going to kill you. I swear I'll kill you. Just you wait."

He threw the phone. It struck the wall in the corner and shattered with a bang.

Inside the travelling palace, Edward watched Cheng Pi speak directly into the camera before the screen went black. His expression darkened along with it. "Bastard!"

Edward was furious. Ever since he became invincible, no one had dared humiliate him like this. He immediately closed his eyes. The Devil Cross behind him rose upright, and a terrifying surge of power shot into the sky. The sky rapidly turned crimson as the phenomenon spread toward the Island Nation.

"Arthur Kojima is still alive!"

Edward soon discovered that Arthur, whose abdomen had been pierced by Cheng Pi's kick, had merely lost consciousness. Since his heart and brain remained largely intact, he was still alive. Edward immediately directed the power gathering in the sky toward Arthur's location.

Meanwhile, Cheng Pi dealt with the vampires guarding the entrances one by one with swift, decisive kicks. Arthur had brought more than thirty vampires with him. However, they had all been turned recently and awakened only one ability. Moreover, that ability was the most typical ability a vampire would awaken—hibernation. Having such an ability was practically no different from having none at all, so naturally, they were no match for Cheng Pi.

As a second-generation Shining Vampire, Cheng Pi had not only inherited Yu Xian's immunity to sunlight but also gained powerful physical attributes besides two inherited abilities. Before, Cheng Pi could never have killed a supernatural being with a single kick. Now, however, he could do so with ease.

It was only as he fought that he gradually realized just how powerful he had become. At the same time, his gratitude toward Yu Xian deepened further. Yu Xian had granted him all this strength. The debt he owed Yu Xian was one he could never repay, even over several lifetimes.

In just one minute, he wiped out all thirty-odd vampires. Some vampires outside heard the commotion, but when they saw the headless bodies scattered across the ground, none dared approach.

These Island Nation vampires had been forcibly transformed in the first place, so naturally, they possessed little loyalty. With nothing to gain, there was no chance they would risk their lives for Edward. Moreover, in the first place, they had become vampires to survive.

Cheng Pi's nose twitched as he caught the scent of a survivor. "There's still one left!"

Although he had not inherited Yu Xian's Super Smell, his sense of smell was still thousands of times sharper than that of an ordinary vampire. This was due to a few lingering genes associated with Super Smell.

He turned and returned to the estate. Then his brows furrowed as he looked toward the sky above the main residence.

A surge of crimson energy came crashing down. Arthur slowly rose into the air as the gaping wound in his abdomen rapidly healed. He grew increasingly muscular and, under the torrent of crimson energy, eventually transformed into a red-skinned monster.

Descending from above, Arthur relished the terrifying power surging within him and flashed a ferocious smile at Cheng Pi. He had nearly died just now. This was a grudge that could never be forgiven!

Arthur rubbed his abdomen. "Bastard! That kick of yours really hurt!"

The next instant, he exploded into motion. He leaped high into the air, then brought his foot crashing down toward Cheng Pi. The foot hit the lawn like a meteor hitting the earth, blasting it apart and sending violent tremors through the surrounding ground.

Arthur paid no attention to the destruction. Instead, he turned to his right and saw Cheng Pi standing atop the estate wall, looking down at him from above.

Arthur growled. "Who gave you permission to look down on me?"

Grabbing a nearby boulder, he hurled it at Cheng Pi. He despised being looked down upon, especially when he was clearly taller than the other person, yet was forced to kneel and gaze up at them. Each time it happened, he swore that one day, he would stand above everyone else.

Cheng Pi dodged the boulder and leaped onto a nearby tree, once again looking down at Arthur. "I'm looking down on you. What are you going to do about it?"

At that moment, Yu Xian's voice sounded beside Cheng Pi's ear again. "Don't get careless. His Power is 1, while yours is 0.5. The only good news is that you're faster than him, but if he gets close, he has enough power to kill you in a single blow."

Cheng Pi's expression turned solemn. His opponent was a full 0.5 points stronger than him, equivalent to two of him combined. No wonder the sight of Arthur in this form had triggered an instinctive reluctance to approach him. Cheng Pi had subconsciously sensed the danger.

After becoming a vampire, Cheng Pi discovered that he had gained many strange abilities. Unfortunately, they were passive, and he had not yet gotten enough time to figure out exactly what they were.

"You bastard! I'll kill you!" Arthur shouted.

Provoked by the way Cheng Pi looked down on him and filled with confidence by the tremendous power surging through him, Arthur attacked without restraint. He charged forward and shattered the tree with a punch. Locking his eyes on to Cheng Pi's flight path, he grabbed the trunk, spun around, and hurled the entire tree with all his strength.

Cheng Pi's innate ability was extraordinarily powerful. Since he could fly at sublight speed, his reaction speed was naturally astonishing. He evaded the tree. Gathering flames in one hand and venom in the other, he swept his arms and launched both the flames and venom at Arthur.

Arthur had jumped high immediately after throwing the tree, intending to attack Cheng Pi in midair. When the flames and venom intercepted him halfway, he unleashed a frantic barrage of punches. "It's useless! Take this! And this! And this! And this!"

Seizing the opportunity, Cheng Pi continuously generated flames and venom in his hands and bombarded Arthur in the air. Separated by more than ten meters, one attacked relentlessly while the other repeatedly shattered the incoming attacks with his fists.

Arthur let out a low growl as wings sprouted from his back. Flapping them furiously, he pushed forward against the onslaught, forcing Cheng Pi to grit his teeth and push his attack speed to the absolute limit.

Watching the enemy draw closer by the second, Cheng Pi clenched his teeth. This won't work. My endurance is inferior to his. At this rate, I'll be the one who dies!

Then, he suddenly remembered something. He glanced up at the sky, raised one hand overhead, and continued attacking with the other. A massive fireball instantly formed above his raised hand. It grew larger and larger and radiated astonishing heat.

Arthur showed no fear. He was confident he could shatter it with a single punch. But just as he reached a distance of within five meters of Cheng Pi, Cheng Pi let out a low roar and launched the fireball into the sky instead.

Arthur froze for a moment before bursting into wild laughter. "Hahahahaha! You've already started losing control of your power! How can you possibly defeat me?"

Arthur had only recently become a vampire, and ever since his transformation, Edward's dark clouds had constantly covered the skies above the Island Nation. He had almost forgotten the crucial fact that vampires feared sunlight.

A thunderous explosion erupted overhead. The blast from the fireball scattered the dark clouds, allowing sunlight to pour down.

Bathed in sunlight, Cheng Pi smiled. "We may both be vampires, but I'm a Shining Vampire, while you're merely an ordinary one. Enjoy the final sunbath of your life!"

AAAAAAAAAAAHHH!

Arthur didn't even hear what Cheng Pi said. The instant the sunlight touched him, he began to disintegrate rapidly. Beneath the sunlight, his crimson skin turned ash-gray in seconds, and amidst his bloodcurdling screams, he was reduced to dust.

A God-rank vampire had fallen, annihilated by sunlight!
