New Ability Every Ten Days: Becoming a Vampire Made Me Too OP
Chapter 193: Slaying Vampires
One minute earlier, in the Island Nation, Yuya Kojima—No, Arthur Kojima swaggered into the courtyard of the Huaxia embassy with a group of vampires and headed straight for the main residence.
He knew perfectly well that he had already boarded Edward's pirate ship. There was no turning back. His only path to safety was to constantly curry favor with Edward and raise his standing in his eyes.
In fact, Arthur had long noticed that a mysterious individual was secretly relocating Huaxians to this house. However, he pretended not to be aware of this and allowed that individual to gather everyone first.
The Island Nation was only so large. Under Arthur's efforts, the number of vampires had grown so vast that they seemed to cover the land and sky. How could anyone conceal their movements from him?
Arthur was doing this to please Edward. Edward was undoubtedly a closet racist. Therefore, the best way for Arthur to curry favor with him was to suppress, humiliate, or even kill the people Edward discriminated against.
Since Edward looked down on the people of the Island Nation, he undoubtedly despised, or rather, hated, the Huaxians even more. As a racist himself, Arthur understood Edward's feelings all too well. Huaxia was too powerful. That alone was enough to make Edward envious, jealous, and resentful.
Had Huaxia not mysteriously disappeared, Arthur believed Edward would undoubtedly have taught those arrogant Huaxians a harsh lesson, perhaps even slaughtering them in great numbers. Arthur would have done the same if he possessed such overwhelming power.
Now, he had the perfect opportunity. By slaughtering every Huaxian holed up in the embassy and broadcasting the entire bloodbath live to Edward, he would cement his place in Edward's eyes once and for all.
After entering the embassy, Arthur took out his phone and contacted Edward, asking in an ingratiating tone, "My lord, forgive me for disturbing you. I've discovered that a large number of Huaxians are sheltering inside this estate. May I ask... how should I deal with them?"
Edward happened to have some free time. He was reclining inside his travelling palace, while several beautiful female vampires attended to him and a group of superheroes pulled the palace toward the next country awaiting conquest.
Edward's wine-red eyes regarded Arthur with amusement, and he languidly asked, "Oh? How would you like to deal with them?"
Arthur lowered his head. "I will follow whatever orders you give, my lord!"
Edward idly played with one of the women's hands. "Then... do whatever you please. I have ten minutes to spare, so begin your performance."
Arthur immediately felt reassured and excitedly replied, "Yes, my lord! I will not disappoint you!"
He ordered one of the vampires to film him, then strode toward the main residence. Upon reaching the door, he kicked it open. With a sweep of his right hand, a longsword formed from blood appeared in his grasp.
"Guard every exit," Arthur barked to his men. "If anyone attempts to escape, kill them on sight!"
He gestured for the vampire holding the phone to follow him inside. The lives of the Huaxians inside the residence would pave his path as Edward's favored sycophant.
Although the first floor was empty, Arthur could smell blood. Narrowing his eyes, he slowly climbed to the second floor with a smile.
His eyes brightened. "My lord, I've found where the Huaxians are hiding."
He charged forward and kicked open the door. The kick smashed apart the wardrobe and bed barricading the door.
Inside the room, women and children huddled in a corner while men stood protectively in front of them. Everyone stared at Arthur in terror.
Arthur stepped inside and smiled. "Unfortunately, you've missed your final chance to become vampires. Now, you can only become... ghosts!"
He gave them no opportunity to respond. He instantly appeared before an old man and swung his blood-red longsword. The old man clutched his neck and collapsed to the ground.
A middle-aged man beside him roared and swung a kitchen knife at Arthur. "You damned Islander! I'll fight you to the death!"
Arthur sneered. "Foolish!"
His blood sword curved through the air, and its sharp tip struck the middle-aged man in the throat. However, several young men nearby attacked simultaneously. Some wielded fruit knives, while others carried iron rods, closing in on Arthur from both sides.
Arthur closed his eyes and effortlessly evaded their attacks. With a thought, his blood sword swept past them, severing their arms. Blood quickly spread across the floor as the young men collapsed.
Arthur turned toward the phone. "My lord, may I kill them all?"
Edward smiled. "As I said, these people... are entirely at your disposal."'
Arthur flashed a matching smile. "Understood."
He knew Edward now understood that they were cut from the same cloth, that he was one of Edward's own.
Meanwhile, in the sky outside the house, Cheng Pi was rapidly descending with Yu Xian's bubble. When he saw vampires guarding the estate, his heart tightened. "Not good!"
Light enveloped him, and he crossed several hundred meters in the blink of an eye. He crashed through a second-floor window. Seeing his compatriots lying in pools of blood while Arthur raised his sword to strike down another caused his pupils to contract.
Cheng Pi roared, "You bastard!"
He drove his foot into Arthur's abdomen. The tremendous force immediately sent the vampire flying. Arthur slammed into the wall, smashing a large hole through it. His blood smeared the edges of the opening and dripped steadily downward. Cheng Pi did not even look at Arthur. He immediately attacked the vampire filming the scene.
Everything had happened far too quickly. Only around 0.0001 seconds passed between Cheng Pi entering the room and sending Arthur flying. The vampire holding the phone had no time to react whatsoever. In fact, not only did the vampire fail to react, but the phone's camera did not even capture Cheng Pi's movements.
However, Edward had sensed Arthur being severely injured. He immediately channeled power through the Devil Cross into the vampire holding the phone, shielding him from harm. He wanted to see who dared defy him.
Cheng Pi launched a kick, but a surge of crimson energy formed a barrier and blocked his attack. The tremendous impact created a sonic boom, and dense cracks spread throughout the entire house.
Fortunately, Yu Xian's consciousness had accompanied the bubble. He swiftly used his bubbles to transport his compatriots to the Huaxia Pocket Dimension. By the time the house collapsed, only Cheng Pi and the vampire filming him remained inside.
When his attack failed, Cheng Pi retreated and stood atop a load-bearing pillar, glaring at the vampire holding the phone. Only then did the vampire belatedly understand that Cheng Pi had nearly killed him. Realizing that his assignment had saved his life, he hurriedly pointed the phone at Cheng Pi.
Edward saw Cheng Pi clearly through the phone and smiled. "I've seen you before. Let me think... Ah, yes. You're from Qilin."
"Edward!" Cheng Pi clenched his fists, wishing he could tear Edward apart right then and there.
Edward smiled. "That's right. Your name is Ether. You were the one who delivered the file concerning that wild vampire and demanded that I stop hunting him. What a pity. He should be dead by now."
He was referring to Bat. Edward remembered the incident so clearly because it had been the first time Huaxia had firmly demanded that he cease hunting a wild vampire. At the time, Edward had felt deeply humiliated and enraged.
