New Ability Every Ten Days: Becoming a Vampire Made Me Too OP
Chapter 130: The Sealed Namoans
Yu Xian sent the eyeball bubble around the main hall. Only after confirming there was no danger did he enter the stone gate himself.
He passed through the front court, looked up at the three large characters that read "Rising Tide Society" on the main gate, and used his phone to record the scene inside. But he remained cautious and did not step through the main gate.
Everyone watching the stream through their phones immediately discussed the strange scene in the main hall.
Death Medic: Salted Fish, don't take risks. It looks pretty terrifying in there, especially Hong Zheng and his wife. Why haven't their bodies decayed?
Number One: No, that's not right. In the Red Planet's environment, unless a body is exposed on the surface and destroyed by storms, it would not decay easily. It would only slowly dry out into something like a mummy. But all the skeletons around them have decayed. That's the real problem.
Trivia: From what I can see, it looks a little like some sacrifice or sealing ritual took place here. Salted Fish, don't go in yet. Let me check the records.
Sharpshooter: Little Fish, don't be reckless. A ritual of this scale can last for a very, very long time. Its effects might even persist for hundreds of thousands of years. Since we don't know what is going on, it would be best not to damage anything.
Piggy: They all seem to have committed suicide. What could have made so many people do that?
Rising Tide: Chairman Hong and the others must have had a reason for doing what they did! I believe in the Rising Tide Society. My great-great-great-great-great... great-grandfather survived only because of their help! Our digital family genealogy still has a video of them. There is absolutely no way the Rising Tide Society could be the bad guys!
Drunkard: Old Hong, don't get worked up yet. What Salted Fish is showing us does look a little terrifying and sinister, but sometimes what you see isn't necessarily the truth. We can only be sure after investigating.
Right then, Yu Xian caught a faint whisper, as if someone were speaking right into his ear.
"Save me..."
He immediately looked around, but saw nothing. Then he circulated the divine power of deceit from the Dragon Shield core, and his eyes gradually turned green.
Looking around again now, he could vaguely see countless black phantoms chained throughout the hall. With Hong Zheng at the center, dense clusters of phantoms were trapped inside an enormous cage. Only a small number of them were outside the cage, but even they were bound by chains and could not move far.
A phantom circled the eyeball bubble and pitifully whispered, "Save me. I am Chen Benshan, the Vice Chairman of the Rising Tide Society. The Chairman has gone mad. Please, save me."
Inside the cage, even more phantoms began crying for help. Through their blurred forms, they all seemed to be pleading with him.
Yu Xian glanced at the phantom outside his eyeball bubble. "How am I supposed to save you?"
The phantom was overjoyed. "It's simple, young man. You only need to cut off Hong Zheng's head, and the formation will collapse on its own. Then we will be able to reincarnate and return to the cycle of rebirth."
Yu Xian feigned hesitation. "Isn't that a bit cruel? And what if you're the bad guys?"
The phantom put away its pitiful expression. Its trembling body steadied, and it abruptly abandoned the charade. Looking toward the phantoms inside the cage, it said, "See? I knew it wouldn't be that easy. We look like villains. How could he be fooled so easily?"
Yu Xian was somewhat amused. "Not going to keep putting on a show?"
The phantom helplessly said, "You wouldn't believe us anyway. Besides, you're the first human to come here in more than five hundred years. How could you possibly be a simple-minded fool? How about this, then? Let's make a deal. Let us out, and we can grant you three wishes. Any wish you want!"
Yu Xian smiled. "Then my first wish is for you to let yourselves out. Since you can grant any wish, please begin your performance."
The phantom was stunned speechless. If we could have gotten out on our own, we would have done so more than five hundred years ago.
At that moment, a giant black hand swept aside a large number of phantoms inside the cage. An enormous dark figure appeared. It stared at Yu Xian in silence for a long while before saying, "Human, don't get too pleased with yourself. Soon. Very soon. The day I break free will be the day your human race is destroyed!"
Yu Xian stared right back at the massive figure. "I'll wait until you actually break free before worrying about it."
The people watching the stream on their phones were confused. Since Yu Xian's phones could not capture these phantoms, they only saw Yu Xian seemingly talking to himself.
Death Medic: Salted Fish, who are you talking to? Don't tell me you're hallucinating.
Number One: Salted Fish's eyes have turned green. Is that one of his abilities? Or did he get hit by a curse and is being mind-controlled?
Piggy: Aren't you two on the same squad as Salted Fish? Even you guys don't know?
Death Medic: We really don't. Salted Fish keeps getting stronger. If we don't see him for a few days, it's like he's already turned into someone else. We're not even sure how many abilities he has.
Bluebird: That's right. Salted Fish improves too quickly. At this point, he's probably the only one who knows how strong he really is.
The others went speechless. Qilin has gained yet another monster.
Gong Qian was already someone they could only look up to, but Yu Xian was shaping up to be an even greater anomaly. If he changed so much every few days, then he was impossible to prepare for. They could not even accurately judge his strength. Unless they managed to kill him on the spot, they would no longer be able to beat him a few days later.
Moreover, once they remembered Yu Xian was a spatial ability user, they came to a terrifying realization. Yu Xian is absurd, even more absurd than Gong Qian!
Yu Xian was not looking at his phone. He kept staring at the massive figure, the corner of his mouth curving slightly into a smug, mocking smirk.
All the other phantoms urged the enormous dark figure to calm down and not be angered by the provocation.
"My king, he's deliberately trying to provoke you. Do not fall for it!"
"My king, please calm your anger. Once we break free of these restraints, this subject will present his head to you!"
"My king, please endure this. A moment's impatience can ruin a great plan!"
The enormous dark figure murderously glared at Yu Xian, black smoke billowing from its body. Clearly, Yu Xian's taunt had enraged it.
Yu Xian muttered to himself, "So that's how it is. Looks like not all of the Namoans were sealed here. Some slipped through the net and escaped."
The chaotic clamor of the phantoms ceased instantly. Every single one of them snapped their heads around to stare at Yu Xian.
Something is not right with this human!
How does he know we are the Namoans of the Namo Race?
And how does he know that we have other clansmen roaming on the outside?
Kill him! He must be eliminated at all costs!
Instantly, an overwhelming wave of murderous intent locked onto Yu Xian. Unfortunately for the phantoms, they were bound by the cage, and the chains sealed their power. Aside from glaring at Yu Xian, there was absolutely nothing they could do to him.
Yu Xian paid no attention to their hostility. The green light in his eyes gradually faded, and all the phantoms in his vision disappeared, leaving only the remains scattered across the ground and Hong Zheng and Cui Xianzhen kneeling at the center.
He let out a long sigh, then bowed deeply toward them. Centuries ago, the Rising Tide Society had ventured into the Red Planet in search of gold veins to secure funding for their cause. They had mined their way to this spot and discovered an Abyssal Rift. To suppress the Abyssal Rift, they had established this branch here, stationing their forces here.
Ultimately, when the Namo Race launched a massive, full-scale invasion through the Abyssal Rift, every member of the Rising Tide Society sacrificed their lives to deploy a grand formation, sealing the vast majority of the Namoans deep here. However, some of them still managed to escape.
The remains Yu Xian had discovered earlier at the bottom of the pit were the members of the Rising Tide Society fighting against people whose bodies the Namoans had taken over. That was why the scene had looked like they had killed one another. If their clothes had been a little more intact, Yu Xian would have realized sooner that all of them were members of the Rising Tide Society.
Through the various clues he had seen along the way, as well as the information he had obtained by appraising the Namoans, Yu Xian had already pieced together the truth of what had happened back then. And because he knew, he was deeply moved.
How fortunate humanity was! Every time humanity faced annihilation, brave heroes would always step forward, using their wisdom, strength, and selfless sacrifice to protect everyone's lives and hopes. It was because of the devotion and sacrifice of the Rising Tide Society and Xingtian Warriors that humanity had been able to survive to this day.
This was especially true regarding the Namoans. Had they been allowed to escape the Red Planet, it would have spelled an absolute, inescapable doom for the human race, given their collective strength five centuries ago. Fortunately, the Rising Tide Society and its countless righteous, devoted members were there to hold the line.
As for right now, every Namoan who had escaped back then had to die.
