Necromancer: I Am A Disaster

Chapter 910: Don’t Blame Me For Fighting Back

  • Next Chapter

Lin Moyu rented a soul forging room.

Inside, a specialized formation accelerated soul force recovery while filtering out interference from external laws.

At 10 points per day, the room was already considered excellent value.

In truth, Lin Moyu could have forged the soul armor anywhere. However, he wanted to experience every cultivation facility in the greater world firsthand.

He had already visited the Mission Center, Trading Center, and Forging Center. Next on his list was the Pill Center.

Vermilion Bird Planet 98-1 would likely be his base for quite some time, so it was only natural to familiarize himself with everything it had to offer.

Once the forging room was sealed, its door would remain closed until Lin Moyu left of his own accord or exhausted his points. No one could disturb him.

Taking out the Starfire Essence Metal, Lin Moyu admired its enchanting glow. It was a True God-grade material.

Like ordinary Starfire Metal, it contained the law of fire. However, after enduring countless years of tempering by that law, its properties had become something extraordinary.

He released his soul force, enveloping the Starfire Essence Metal as he began to refine it.

The moment the forging began, Lin Moyu entered a state of complete absorption.

Just as when he had forged the Coffin of Slumber, he forgot himself entirely, devoting every ounce of concentration to the task and shutting out the outside world.

…

Vermilion Bird Starfield, Planet No. 1.

Inside a magnificent palace stood an old man with a vigorous bearing. Dressed in immaculate robes, his eyes shone with piercing brilliance.

A terrifying aura naturally radiated from him, though he wasn't even releasing it intentionally. Even the slightest trace distorted the surrounding space.

This was the greater world's space, immensely stable and incomparably resilient.

Yet even it struggled to withstand the unconscious pressure he exuded.

"Let's see how this year's young talents are doing."

At his command, his will surged forth like a raging tide.

A colossal screen of light materialized before him.

Countless names appeared across it, each belonging to someone who had advanced to the Transcendent God realm within the past year.

This included every cultivator who had arrived from small worlds and remote star systems.

Lin Moyu's name was among them.

The Vermilion Bird Starfield was unimaginably vast, encompassing thousands of inhabited star systems, innumerable small worlds, and an endless population.

Every year, more than a million new Transcendent Gods emerged.

The Human Emperor Network had recorded every one of them without exception.

The old man's eyes gleamed, "Not bad. Quite a few promising talents this year."

"Sort them by age. Show me only the youngest thousand."

The Human Emperor Network responded instantly.

Over a million names disappeared, leaving only one thousand behind.

Lin Moyu occupied the very first position.

When the old man saw his age, he murmured, "Twenty-eight years old... so young..."

Then his expression froze and his eyes widened, "What?! Twenty-eight? How is that possible?!"

Sorted by age, Lin Moyu ranked first at just twenty-eight years old.

The person in second place was already seventy-two.

In any ordinary year, reaching the Transcendent God realm at seventy-two would have qualified someone as an unquestionable genius.

Compared to Lin Moyu, however, that achievement faded into insignificance.

The difference was not merely forty-four years.

The implications of reaching the Transcendent God realm at only twenty-eight were immeasurable.

Even this old man, who had lived through countless eras and weathered endless storms, could not hide his astonishment.

His voice grew solemn, "Display Lin Moyu's potential evaluation."

The Human Emperor Network immediately projected the result, along with the time it had been issued.

"Legendary." The old man couldn't help exclaiming once again.

The result was precisely what he had expected, yet it still left him shocked.

After several seconds of silence, he burst into hearty laughter, "Excellent! Another peerless genius has emerged within our human race!"

"Pull up all of Lin Moyu's records immediately!"

His excitement swept away his usual composure, revealing his true temperament.

The Human Emperor Network obeyed at once.

Although access within the network was strictly divided by authority, the old man's authority was exceptionally high.

While he could not view the actual assessment conducted inside the War God Temple, accessing Lin Moyu's records posed no difficulty.

A complete profile soon appeared before him.

Every detail was recorded—from Lin Moyu's personal information to the missions he had completed over the past few days and even the information he had purchased.

The old man scrutinized every entry, clicking his tongue in admiration from time to time.

"It's only been a few days, and he's already completed two missions, advancing all the way to 3rd tier Transcendent God."

"He even cleared the Meteor Secret Realm mission. Impressive."

"And he sold that much Starfire Metal... Looks like he discovered an entire Starfire Metal vein."

The more he read, the more astonished he became.

Lin Moyu's cultivation speed was already unbelievable, but his luck was just as extraordinary.

"So he underwent his potential assessment at the War God Temple on Planet No. 98."

"Old Luo just happens to be stationed there these days."

"Damn it! That old fox definitely knows about Lin Moyu by now. The War God Temple is bound to try to recruit him."

"No. There's no way I'm letting them get to him first!" The old man immediately turned anxious.

He was about to summon someone to bring Lin Moyu over, but after a brief pause, he changed his mind.

Projecting his consciousness into the Human Emperor Network once more, he contacted Old Luo directly, who was still on duty at the War God Temple.

"Luo Qiankun! Stop playing dead and get out here!"

The Old Luo Gu Qingxuan had mentioned was the very same Old Luo the old man referred to—Luo Qiankun.

Within the Human Emperor Network, Luo Qiankun's figure materialized.

Though separated by hundreds of thousands of light-years, the two stood face-to-face through the network.

Luo Qiankun cracked one eye open and said lazily, "Third Zhu, are you tired of living?"

Being called Third Zhu didn't bother the old man in the slightest.

"Luo Qiankun, answer me this. That kid, Lin Moyu... are you trying to recruit him into the God War Temple?"

Luo Qiankun let out a dismissive snort, "So what if I am? What's it to you?"

Third Zhu barked, "In your dreams! I'm telling you now, that kid has caught my eye."

Luo Qiankun burst into laughter, "And just because you've set your sights on him, he belongs to you?"

"I've already submitted his file to the Temple Master. If you've got the nerve, go argue with the Temple Master yourself."

Third Zhu nearly choked with anger, his face alternating between red and pale.

His voice turned icy, "So that's how you're going to play it?"

"Fine. Don't blame me for fighting back. I'll report him to the City Lord. The City Lord has been looking for a disciple these past few years, and I'd say Lin Moyu is the perfect candidate."

Luo Qiankun rolled his eyes, utterly unfazed, "Go ahead. See if I care."

"And don't bother me with this kind of nonsense again. I'm in the middle of law comprehension."

"If you interrupt me one more time, I'll come over personally and tear down your field lord manor."

The instant Luo Qiankun's temper flared, an overwhelming pressure radiated from him.

Even through the Human Emperor Network, Third Zhu felt a jolt of apprehension.

He knew Luo Qiankun wasn't bluffing; he was fully capable of doing exactly what he'd threatened.

Third Zhu snorted, still unwilling to back down, "You people from the War God Temple steal talented individuals every single year. I've let it slide before..."

"But this time, it won't be so easy."
