Necromancer: I Am A Disaster

Chapter 877: Vermilion Bird Starfield, Star System No. 98

  • Next Chapter

Outside the flying ship, multicolored streams of light streaked past. The familiar starry sky had long since disappeared.

The scene looked remarkably similar to traveling through a teleportation formation.

God Sovereign Night Breeze's flying ship possessed an ability comparable to a teleportation formation, allowing it to travel through subspace at incredible speeds and cross unimaginably vast distances in a short time.

No sooner had Lin Moyu entered the greater world than he encountered a God Sovereign.

More surprisingly, both the God Sovereign and his disciple had shown him exceptional goodwill.

The entire situation left Lin Moyu puzzled, and he couldn't help but remain on guard.

Yet when he thought back, the circumstances were oddly familiar. Shortly after his class awakening, he had met Bai Yiyuan under similarly unexpected circumstances.

Along the journey, Gu Qingxuan patiently explained everything, gradually clearing up his doubts.

She had indeed been tasked with guiding a genius from a small world into the greater world.

The more outstanding the genius, the greater the rewards she would receive.

Whether by fate or coincidence, she had met Lin Moyu and chosen him.

To ensure the mission's success, she had even invited God Sovereign Night Breeze to personally escort him.

As for why God Sovereign Night Breeze had interrupted the greater world's law baptism, the explanation was simple.

Everyone who emerged from a small world received a one-time baptism by the great world's laws.

During this process, the soul, law arts, and even talents could all be strengthened.

However, newcomers were usually overwhelmed by the transition and unable to fully absorb the law baptism's benefits, wasting a considerable portion of its power.

Using his overwhelming power, God Sovereign Night Breeze had effectively paused Lin Moyu's law baptism.

Once Lin Moyu had fully adapted to the greater world, the law baptism could resume, allowing him to gain far greater benefits than he otherwise would have.

Gu Qingxuan spoke softly, "I'll admit, I have my own selfish motives."

"The mission I accepted from Divine City is a chain mission. Your talent is only the first stage."

"If you eventually enter God City, or even walk the God Path, the rewards I receive will increase accordingly."

She admitted her motives openly, without the slightest attempt to hide them.

Simply put, the greater Lin Moyu's future achievements, the greater her own rewards would be.

Her explanation also introduced two unfamiliar concepts: God City and God Path.

Both sounded extraordinary.

Lin Moyu asked, "Could you tell me more about God City and the God Path?"

He knew almost nothing about humanity's place within the greater world.

Throughout the journey, he mostly listened in silence, speaking only occasionally.

Even then, he remained humble, never carrying himself like a genius.

Yet nearly everyone capable of rising from a small world was a genius.

Many were arrogant beyond measure, believing themselves second only to the heavens.

Over his countless years of life, God Sovereign Night Breeze had met more than his fair share of such people.

That was precisely why both he and Gu Qingxuan appreciated Lin Moyu's demeanor.

Gu Qingxuan explained slowly, "God City is the sacred land of the human race, while the God Path is the sacred land within that sacred land. Every human dreams of entering God City and climbing the God Path."

"The human race has a saying: 'Anyone who doesn't aspire to enter God City is no good.'"

The saying brought a faint smile to Lin Moyu's face.

God Sovereign Night Breeze looked at him and said deliberately, "You have the potential to enter God City."

Before Lin Moyu could react, Gu Qingxuan exclaimed in surprise.

"Master, you really think so?"

God Sovereign Night Breeze glanced at his disciple with a fond smile, "When have I ever misjudged someone? Young Friend Lin possesses both composure and talent necessary to rise from a small world. Entering God City should not be difficult for him."

Gu Qingxuan had complete faith in her master's judgment.

As she looked at Lin Moyu, her gaze subtly changed.

Perhaps the decision she had made on a whim would one day yield substantial rewards.

A short while later, the flying ship gave a slight tremor as it emerged from subspace.

Brilliant starlight filled their vision once more.

Before them floated an incomparably massive star, surrounded by several equally colossal planets revolving around it.

Gu Qingxuan explained, "This is the Vermilion Bird Starfield under the human race's control. What you're looking at is Star System No. 98 within the Vermilion Bird Starfield"

"It contains three inhabited planets, six resource planets, and countless asteroids."

Lin Moyu gazed at the magnificent star system, feeling astonished.

This single star system alone housed three inhabited planets, each home to billions of humans.

Every one of them dwarfed the small world he had come from.

To sustain the cultivation needs of their inhabitants, six resource planets had also been established.

The nine planets revolved around a star that provided light and warmth, forming a perfectly balanced ecosystem.

Yet such an immense star system was merely one among many others.

For the first time, Lin Moyu truly grasped the scale of the greater world.

During the journey, Gu Qingxuan gave him a general overview of the human race's territory.

The human race was one of the greater world's dominant races and ruled an immense expanse of space.

Its territory was divided into the four starfields, namely Green Dragon, Vermilion Bird, White Tiger, and Black Turtle.

Each starfield contained numerous star systems, all identified by numerical designations.

Together, the four star fields guarded the Central Starfield, where both God City and the God Path that Gu Qingxuan had mentioned earlier were located.

However, entry into God City was far from easy; only those who passed numerous trials earned the right to enter.

The small world Lin Moyu had come from lay on the outermost edge of the Vermilion Bird Starfield, bordering the territories of other races.

Star System No. 98 happened to be the nearest inhabited human star system to his homeland.

According to the human race’s regulations, after leaving the small world, this was where Lin Moyu was supposed to report first.

Even if God Sovereign Night Breeze had not personally guided Lin Moyu, another human expert would have escorted him to this place.

The flying ship entered the star system and headed toward one of the inhabited planets.

Gu Qingxuan explained, "This inhabited planet is designated Vermilion Bird 98-1. It's where you'll register your identity."

"Every human powerhouse arriving from a small world must complete registration before receiving an official identity."

"Remember this well. Without an identity, you won't be able to take a single step within human territory."

Lin Moyu nodded quietly, committing her words to memory.

At the same time, he thought of Lilian, who had disappeared after entering the greater world.

He wondered where she had gone.

If she had entered human territory without a registered identity, would she truly be unable to move about as Gu Qingxuan had warned?

The flying ship landed on Vermilion Bird 98-1.

God Sovereign Night Breeze never showed himself.

Instead, Gu Qingxuan led Lin Moyu toward the registration office.

Escorting him until every procedure was completed was part of her mission.

As soon as he stepped off the flying ship, Lin Moyu found himself surrounded by a sea of humans.

Everyone wore different styles of clothing, with no uniformity whatsoever.

Though they all belonged to the human race, each had come from a different small world, carrying unique customs and traditions.

The differences were evident at a glance.

Gu Qingxuan smiled, "Don't be surprised. Among all the races, the human race is the most inclusive in every sense."

After a brief silence, Lin Moyu asked quietly, "Are there many people like me?"

Gu Qingxuan shook her head, "Not particularly many, but certainly not few either. There are as many small worlds as hairs on an ox. Exceptional individuals are bound to emerge."

Under her guidance, they arrived at the registration office.

The building was enormous, constructed from green stone that radiated the weight of countless years.

Hundreds of people were already lined up outside, and every one of them wore clothing unlike the others, making it obvious they hailed from different small worlds.

Lin Moyu couldn't help but feel surprised.

Hadn't Gu Qingxuan just said there weren't many?

And this was only a single star system.

The Vermilion Bird Starfield alone contained thousands of star systems.

Beyond that were the Green Dragon Starfield, the White Tiger Starfield, and the Black Turtle Starfield.

If all of them were counted together...

Just how enormous was the number of newcomers?

Gu Qingxuan glanced toward the registration office before slowly closing her eyes, as though sensing something.

A few seconds later, she opened them again, "We came at the right time. Registration opens again in two days. There's no need to hurry—we'll simply wait."
