Chapter 152: Dark Medical Ninjutsu
Chapter 152: Chapter 152: Dark Medical Ninjutsu
Looking at Yomi’s decapitated corpse, Hyuga Kagami furrowed his brows slightly and thought to himself, "He died just like that?"
Although he had never taken the Yomi Cult seriously, the performance of Yomi, the cult’s leader, still surprised him somewhat.
After all, this level of strength wasn’t even up to the standard of a jonin.
"A substitute?"
The thought immediately flashed through Kagami’s mind.
This operation to wipe out the Yomi Cult wasn’t some black-market bounty mission that he could casually muddle through. He was doing this to repay the Priestess for the favor he owed her, so he had to take it seriously.
Soon, Kagami activated his Tenseigan. While examining Yomi’s corpse on the ground, he took out a scroll from his robes.
The scroll had been given to him by the Priestess and contained a great deal of intelligence on Yomi. After carefully comparing the information, Kagami confirmed that the corpse before him really was Yomi himself.
He gave the corpse one final glance. Seeing that the residual chakra within it had completely dissipated as well, Kagami deactivated his Tenseigan, then activated his Byakugan and began thoroughly searching the Yomi Cult’s stronghold.
Just as he had expected, after already being subjected to one purge, the Yomi Cult had practically nothing valuable left.
Even with Kagami’s Byakugan, after thoroughly ransacking the entire place, he still couldn’t find much money.
The moment he thought about money, Hyuga Kagami felt a headache coming on.
His recent cloning experiments had consumed enormous amounts of nutrient solution, and his stockpile of medicinal ingredients was nearly exhausted. So he had to think of every possible way to get his hands on more money.
Otherwise, his experiments simply couldn’t continue.
......
High in the sky, not far from the Yomi Cult’s stronghold.
Hiruko, dressed in the Akatsuki’s red-cloud cloak, stood silently atop a gigantic flying beast, his cold gaze fixed on the distance.
Beside him, Shinno, also wearing a red-cloud cloak, sat cross-legged on the beast’s back and asked, "Did you use that forbidden technique on this summon too?"
The corner of Hiruko’s mouth curled upward. "What do you think of my masterpiece?"
Shinno smiled. "With this thing, traveling is so much more convenient!"
Hiruko seemed to thoroughly enjoy Shinno’s praise. A trace of smugness appeared on his otherwise cold face. "This is a synthetic beast I painstakingly created using my forbidden technique!"
Shinno’s eyes flickered slightly as he praised, "Your forbidden technique could practically be called a work of art!"
Hiruko smiled, clearly pleased by the compliment, then asked, "Is the guy we’re looking for this time really as impressive as you say?"
Shinno’s smile disappeared as his expression turned serious.
"That guy’s strength is nothing special, but the ’Dark Medical Ninjutsu’ he possesses is extremely important—to both you and me!"
As Shinno traveled throughout the ninja world, he relied on his own talents to uncover countless secrets and hidden pieces of information.
The fact that Yomi possessed the "Dark Medical Ninjutsu" was one of them.
In the past, even if Shinno had wanted to get his hands on the Dark Medical Ninjutsu, he simply hadn’t possessed the strength to do so.
But after joining the mysterious Akatsuki organization, he discovered that by borrowing Akatsuki’s power, many plans that had previously been impossible for him to carry out could now proceed smoothly.
And that was precisely what had led to this operation at the Yomi Cult’s stronghold.
As Shinno continued extolling the virtues of the Dark Medical Ninjutsu, Hiruko gradually became interested as well.
The Chimera Technique was simply too domineering during the fusion process, often forcing the caster’s body to endure an extraordinary burden. Because of this, Hiruko had an extremely pressing need for techniques related to body modification.
After all, without modifying the body beforehand, theoretically speaking, there was no one whose body could withstand the burden imposed by the Chimera Technique.
Before long, the gigantic flying beast slowly descended into the Yomi Cult’s stronghold.
Jumping down from the beast’s back, Hiruko swept his gaze around the surroundings and said, "Looks like we’re one step too late!"
At this moment, corpses lay scattered all throughout the Yomi Cult’s stronghold.
Even the stench of blood had yet to dissipate, suggesting that the battle had taken place not long ago.
Shinno’s expression darkened. "Damn it! Who did this?"
The two then entered the main hall, where they found the decapitated corpse of Yomi, the leader of the Yomi Cult.
Hiruko crouched down and examined the body before saying, "His head was severed with a single strike from a kunai. Clean and decisive—not a single unnecessary movement!"
Shinno examined the corpse as well, then nodded in agreement. "The attacker was extremely strong. This guy didn’t even have a chance to resist before he was effortlessly killed!"
Whether it was Hiruko or Shinno, both possessed extremely profound knowledge of the human body. So after carefully examining the corpse, they were able to roughly reconstruct how Yomi had been "killed."
The thought that he had made this trip for nothing immediately soured Hiruko’s mood.
At that moment, Shinno suddenly picked up Yomi’s severed head and placed it back against his body.
Hiruko asked in confusion, "What are you doing?"
Shinno suddenly smiled.
"Don’t let this guy fool you. He isn’t dead at all."
With that, Shinno performed the Body Regeneration Secret Technique on Yomi’s corpse.
Under the effects of the Body Regeneration Secret Technique, the severed wound around Yomi’s neck gradually healed. Soon afterward, his chest began to rise and fall, and breath once again flowed through his nostrils.
"Haa..."
After exhaling a breath of stale air, Yomi suddenly sat upright.
Hiruko looked over the "resurrected" Yomi with great interest. "So you’re Yomi?"
Yomi, meanwhile, stared warily at Hiruko and Shinno in their red-cloud cloaks and asked, "Who are you?"
Earlier, the overwhelming manner in which Hyuga Kagami had swept through the entire stronghold had made Yomi realize that he was absolutely no match for him.
So before Kagami stormed into the main hall, Yomi had secretly consumed more than half of his chakra to perform one of the techniques contained within the Dark Medical Ninjutsu—the ’Feigned Death Technique.’
The Feigned Death Technique was one of the most mysterious forbidden techniques within the Dark Medical Ninjutsu.
Once activated, all of the caster’s vital signs would completely disappear, placing them in a state suspended between life and death. As long as the body didn’t suffer catastrophic damage, there was a possibility that it would recover after a certain period of time.
However, Yomi had no way to revive through his own power.
No matter how miraculous the Feigned Death Technique was, it couldn’t bring back someone whose head had been severed from their body. So if Hiruko and Shinno had arrived even a little later, Yomi’s feigned death would have become a real death.
Hiruko said coldly, "Hand over the Dark Medical Ninjutsu. Perhaps we’ll consider sparing your life!"
Still in an extremely weakened state, Yomi didn’t hesitate for even a moment.
"Fine! I can teach you the Dark Medical Ninjutsu, but you must guarantee my safety!"
Shinno asked curiously, "Who was the person who just killed you?"
The image of Hyuga Kagami dressed in a black cloak, his face concealed behind a demonic mask, surfaced in Yomi’s mind.
He couldn’t help but shudder. Lingering fear filled his voice as he said, "He... he was practically a demon!"
Hiruko frowned.
"Hmph! What demon? Just someone playing tricks and pretending to be a ghost! Tell me—what’s his name?"
Yomi lowered his voice.
"He said his name was...
’Yama.’"
