A white column of chakra flew towards Jiraiya, only for it to hit nothing but air.

Jiraiya appeared several meters away from danger and released a breath of relief.

’So, I can use Body Flicker Jutsu to dodge this attack without entering Sage Mode now. That’s good!’

Onoki looked confused. He stared at his hands, thinking.

’Is my age affecting my performance so much?’

He quickly shook his head and denied such thoughts.

His agility and strength had decreased tremendously, but his control over Jutsu had only become stronger.

Even in this old age, his chakra flow was stable. That made him sure Jiraiya had gotten stronger.

"Tell me something, Jiraiya! Is this the reason behind your Hokage’s confidence? How did you get stronger?"

There was a hint of complexity in the tone of his voice.

Increasing strength for ninjas was normal, but that strength mainly came from their upper limits and experience.

Even if Jiraiya had mastered Sage Mode, his original strength wouldn’t get a massive boost. So, his strength should’ve reached its peak.

But now, not only had Jiraiya shown a greater feat, but others didn’t look weak either.

"Oi, Onoki! Do you think this is the right time to ask such questions?"

Jiraiya retorted. He channeled Chakra into his mouth and exhaled a massive stream of fire towards Onoki.

[Fire Release- Flame Bullet]

The fire bullet moved towards the target, trying to incinerate Onoki while he was in mid-air. Unfortunately for him, the attack didn’t work.

Onoki easily destroyed his Flame Bullet using the Rock Fist. Onoki didn’t stop there. He conjured a massive golem and used it to attack Jiraiya.

Seeing this, Jiraiya weaved hand signs and slammed his hand on the ground.

[Summoning- Food Cart Destroyer Jutsu]

A massive toad fell from the sky, sitting on top of the golem and destroying it. The red toad looked at Jiraiya and asked.

"So, why did you summon me here?"

"I need to face him. Bunta, release the oil!"

Jiraiya shouted, jumping on top of Bunta as he started weaving hand signs.

"Tsk!"

Gamabunta snorted before releasing a large stream of oil towards the target with incredible accuracy.

[Fire Release- Toad Oil Flame Bullet]

Jiraiya released an enormous stream of fire that merged with the oil and magnified several times, covering thousands of meters in an instant.

This allowed Jiraiya to cut off all of Onoki’s retreat plans, forcing him to block this Jutsu from spreading in case it harmed his fellow ninjas.

Although they were fighting far away, they weren’t as far as the Jinchuriki.

[Earth Release- Mountain Covering Rocks]

Onoki wove several hand signs and spat out hundreds of small stones towards the sky, but these stones quickly turned into gigantic rocks.

Each was the size of a massive boulder, raining down on the fire, extinguishing it with a single stroke.

Gamabunta noticed several of those rocks falling towards him and jumped back.

His speed was fast enough to dodge those rocks, but they still shook the ground.

Gamabunta managed to balance himself before he saw Onoki flying towards him at an extreme speed.

He was using the Wind Release to increase his speed, moving so fast that it almost became impossible to dodge him.

But Gamabunta wasn’t alone. Jiraiya was above him, and he saw Onoki’s actions. He immediately summoned two small toads onto his shoulders.

[Sage Mode]

At the same time, the clone disappeared from afar, and the Senjutsu Chakra it gathered reached Jiraiya’s body, allowing him to enter Sage Mode.

"Finally, little Jiraiya! You are using this Jutsu for the purpose it was created."

A green’s toad spoke while clapping his palms together.

"Indeed! We are not your Senjutsu factory. Our existence is to help you absorb nature energy while you are moving around."

"That is the purpose of Sage Art: Amphibian Technique."

The girly toad with blue skin nodded her head.

"Can we not talk about this now, Toad Sages? We still have an enemy to defeat."

Jiraiya helplessly sighed.

At this moment, the facial marks on his face were no longer irregular and frog-like. Instead, it was just an orange eyeshadow on both eyes.

Jiraiya had achieved perfect Sage Mode like Naruto. This was normal. To understand what it meant to be a Sage, one must understand its requirements.

The ability to sense nature energy, enormous chakra reserves, and perfect control over the ratio of the three chakras.

Except for the second condition, the other two could be trained. Mount Myoboku possessed Toad Oil that helped with sensing nature energy.

Naruto, Hagoromo, and Hashirama became perfect sages. Jiraiya, Minato, and Kabuto had defects on one or more than one requirements.

Jiraiya lacked Chakra Reserves. Minato could not pull in nature energy as fast as his son and also lacked chakra reserves.

Kabuto lacked harmony among the three energies due to the presence of multiple chakra signatures in his body.

Jiraiya now had that weakness covered, and with that, he was sure to win.
