Ninja World was currently in a strange situation. War tension hung in the air, with several assassination attempts on nobles and a silence born of rage.

Everyone was biding their time. After Naruto published his card with his power level, the Raikage and the Tsuchikage became silent.

They hadn’t pulled back their military forces. The attempts of finding Danzo was still going strong.

But there was a strange connection between them. They were working on something to win against Konoha and Naruto.

Near the border of Konoha;

"What’s the situation, Hawk?"

A tall man wearing a dog mask appeared in front of three teenagers.

Although they were also wearing masks, their height and body shapes were enough to distinguish their age.

"All the clues point towards Stone Village, Tenzo." The boy wearing a hawk mask spoke.

Hearing that, the man with brown hair and a dog mask frowned.

"The previous assassination trails pointed towards Cloud Village."

"Someone is trying to start a war."

The boy with pale, pupil-less eyes spoke.

His words immediately drew a silent gaze from others.

"What?"

The boy with pupil-less eyes looked confused.

"Stone and Cloud Village are already trying to start a war by finding Danzo and cooperating with them."

"The war will not start because of these assassins."

The man with brown hair answered.

The man with a very low presence stood next to them with his hands in the pockets of his coat.

He spoke.

"Eagle joined a week ago. He doesn’t know the details."

"I see!"

Tenzo nodded his head and said.

"We are not a part of Anbu. We are a separate group formed to work directly under the Hokage, and I am not a part of this group."

He looked at Hawk and said.

"Spider and you need to communicate more with Eagle."

Hearing that, Eagle asked.

"Then, what’s the purpose of our group?"

Hawk spoke.

"We are Shadow Guards. Our purpose is to directly serve the current Hokage as his highest authority."

"After the Hokage changes, we can either go back to being a normal ninja or remain a Shadow Guard based on the next Hokage’s intention."

Tenzo nodded and said.

"Your mission is not to interfere with Anbu but to complete the mission without the knowledge of others."

"That’s why you were pulled late into this group."

"Then, why does a Shadow Guard need to hide his identity like an Anbu?"

Eagle asked.

"Because we’re young."

Spider spoke and continued.

"If the enemy ninja know we are Shadow Guards, they will stop at nothing to capture us. Why? Because we possess more information than Anbu."

Hearing that, Eagle nodded.

Hawk turned towards Tenzo and asked.

"What should we do next? Return and report to the Hokage?"

Tenzo nodded.

"Yes! We have confirmed that someone is trying to create a conflict between different villages. That’s all we need to know."

"Return!"

As he said that, Hawk immediately gave a command, and four of them quickly rushed towards Konoha.

On their way, Eagle spotted five ninjas. He immediately turned towards Tenzo and said.

"Five ninjas to the northeast; all have approximately Two Times Chakra Card!"

Tenzo looked at him and said.

"I am not a part of this group."

"Oh! Sorry!"

Eagle apologized and turned towards Hawk.

Hawk rolled his eyes, but then they suddenly changed. With red pupils and three tomoe, he looked into the distance Eagle was pointing to.

"Strong Lightning!"

He looked at Tenzo and asked.

"What should we do?"

Tenzo rolled his eyes and said.

"You are the leader of this group. Make your own decision!"

This made Hawk pause for a while before he said.

"Continue!"

Hearing that, Tenzo smiled underneath the mask, and the four of them continued their journey towards Konoha.

As they were moving, Tenzo turned towards Eagle and said.

"When did Card become so popular for Chakra Reserve count?"

"Because I’ve seen Kakashi Sensei’s Chakra Reserve. They are by no means small, but his Sharingan absorbs too much of that Chakra."

Eagle replied.

Tenzo nodded.

Spider spoke.

"Lord Hokage used Kakashi-san’s chakra as a chakra measurement because, despite only using that much Chakra, Kakashi-san is an Elite Jonin."

Tenzo chuckled underneath the mask. Hawk gave him a stern look before they sped up towards Konoha.

Soon, they reached Konoha and immediately entered the Hokage’s Office.

Hawk knocked on the door, and a voice came from inside.

"Come in!"

Tenzo stayed outside while three of them entered the Hokage’s Office.

Seeing them, a smile appeared on Naruto’s face as he asked.

"So, how was the mission?"

"Too easy!"

Hawk spoke with a grumpy attitude as he took off his mask, revealing his black eyes and white face.

"Someone is trying to use Cloud and Stone Village’s identity to murder nobles."

Hearing that, Naruto sighed.

"Although I was expecting that, it is still heartbreaking."

"Lord Hokage, do you know the culprit?"

Spider also removed his mask, revealing Shino’s face as he asked.

"Akatsuki!"

A stunned look appeared on Sasuke’s face as he asked.

"You mean the same organization that Itachi is in."

Naruto nodded.

"I know few things about their leader. Pervy Sage has investigated their location, so I sent my clones to that place."

"Although I couldn’t reach the core part of their organization, I learned about their identity and location."

"It’s just that I never thought they would choose this method to bring peace."

"Huh?"

"Wait? Peace?"

Eagle removed his mask, showing a stunned face as he asked.

He was none other than Neji, who had just recently quit Team Guy and joined Shadow Guard.

"Aren’t they trying to start a war?"

Sasuke and Shino were also stunned.

"Akatsuki’s goal is to bring peace to the world, but for as long as the First Hokage was alive, there was also peace."

"Only after their death did the war start. So, they want to make the world feel pain."

"Only through pain do they believe people can understand the value of peace. Before, I wasn’t sure who was behind these assassination attempts."

"But now that I know, I can be sure of their ideal."

Naruto stood up and said.

"Akatsuki is sure this war will begin, and their goal is simple."

"Make it the most miserable war in the history of our world."
