Having successfully extorted a hefty sum from Shunsui Kyoraku and the others—or to be more precise, mostly from Byakuya Kuchiki, since the Kuchiki clan was the only one with pockets deep enough—Shin was ready to move.

"Are you seriously going to the Wandenreich just for the money?" Yoruichi asked, eyeing Shin skeptically.

"That’s half the reason... I also want to take in the scenery of the Invisible Empire. I’m actually quite interested in it," Shin replied with a faint smile.

"I knew it. If it were just about money, there’s no way you’d be this motivated. You definitely wanted to go regardless," Yoruichi said, not looking surprised in the least.

She knew him well enough to know that if Shin didn’t want to go, no amount of money would move him.

"Though, I do find it a bit strange that the Zero Division hasn’t made a move yet," Shin said, a puzzled look crossing his face.

The Royal Guard had remained completely silent. It was impossible to claim they didn’t know what was happening; they were certainly aware of the Wandenreich’s existence. After all, Senjumaru Shutara had returned to the Royal Palace, so she would have undoubtedly informed them.

"Who knows what those guys are thinking? I have zero interest in the Zero Division," Yoruichi said, shaking her head. She genuinely couldn’t care less about them.

Moments later, a gateway resembling a Senkaimon opened, and Old Man Yamamoto stepped through first.

This gate led directly to the dimension housing the Wandenreich. By stepping through it, Yamamoto officially reignited the war between the Soul Reapers and the Quincies.

"I hope Yhwach doesn’t disappoint me," Shin murmured.

"You actually hope Yhwach is strong?" Yoruichi asked, sounding a bit speechless. It felt like Shin was actively rooting for the enemy to be powerful.

"Yeah. To be honest, I really do hope he’s strong. If Yhwach turns out to be weak, it would be a huge letdown," Shin admitted with a nod.

"I’ll never understand the way your mind works," Yoruichi said, rolling her eyes.

"Haha, I just want a worthy opponent." Shin laughed.

"I’d prefer it if Yhwach was easy to handle. The sooner we wrap this up, the better," Yoruichi countered. She had no desire to see how strong the Quincy King was; she just wanted him gone.

"Given Yhwach’s power, it won’t be that simple. I have a feeling that if I don’t step in, Old Man Yamamoto and the others won’t be able to handle him."

Shin wasn’t joking. It was entirely possible that Yamamoto wouldn’t be able to defeat Yhwach this time. He didn’t know how Yamamoto had managed it a thousand years ago, but he doubted the Head Captain could repeat the feat now.

"Let’s go. No point standing around chatting. Let’s enter the Wandenreich," Shin said, pulling Yoruichi along.

Bambietta Basterbine followed closely behind them.

"You’re coming back to the Wandenreich? Aren’t you worried they’ll tear a traitor like you to pieces?" Soi Fon glanced at Bambietta and asked sharply.

"I am terrified. But I feel safer sticking with you guys," Bambietta admitted. She truly felt insecure.

She didn’t want to return to the Wandenreich at all. If Shin hadn’t gone, she certainly wouldn’t have set foot in the place. But since Shin was going, she had no choice but to tag along.

"As long as you behave yourself, Shin-sama will protect you. But if you try any funny business, I’ll kill you myself."

Soi Fon issued a cold warning. This wasn’t the first time she had threatened Bambietta; the Quincy girl had been warned multiple times already.

"I promise, I won’t try anything," Bambietta hurriedly assured her, looking helpless.

She wasn’t suicidal. Bambietta wasn’t an idiot; she knew better than to act recklessly in this situation. She simply didn’t have the nerve.

"You’d better not."

Soi Fon kept a watchful eye on her.

Although Shin seemed to give Bambietta free rein and appeared to trust her, Soi Fon remained skeptical. She still harbored doubts about the Quincy.

Especially now that they were heading into the Wandenreich—enemy territory. If Bambietta decided to turn on them now, the consequences could be severe.

However, Soi Fon’s worries were largely unnecessary. Bambietta wouldn’t dare betray them because she knew exactly how the Quincies treated traitors. She had already betrayed the Wandenreich once; betraying Shin to go back would only result in a definite death sentence.

"You can watch me all you want. I’ll stay right by your side and won’t make a move," Bambietta promised.

To be fair, Bambietta’s current attitude was making a better impression on Soi Fon. Her hostility had lessened significantly compared to the beginning.

"So this is the Wandenreich. Hmm, the scenery isn’t bad," Shin commented, looking around the landscape.

"The scenery isn’t bad? What scenery??" Yoruichi shot him a look of disbelief.

It was nothing but ice and snow. Shin was just talking nonsense.

"Hehe, I think a world of ice and snow counts as nice scenery. Don’t you agree?" Shin chuckled.

"Then if I asked you to stay in a place like this forever, would you be willing?" Yoruichi asked pointedly.

"Of course not. While I appreciate the view right now, staring at the same landscape for a long time would get boring," Shin said, shaking his head.

Yoruichi immediately looked at him with disdain.

"What? Why do I feel like you’re judging me?" Shin asked suspiciously.

"No need to wonder. I am judging you. You fickle man. Hmph," Yoruichi snorted, her eyes filled with scorn.

"That counts as being fickle?" Shin stared at her, eyes wide. He really didn’t understand Yoruichi’s definition of the word. Wanting a change of scenery counted as being fickle? Shin was at a loss for words.

"Of course it counts. How could it not?" Yoruichi huffed.

"Forget it. I can’t out-talk you, and I don’t want to argue," Shin shook his head, turning his attention to the Quincies of the Sternritter.

They must have known the Soul Reapers were coming; the Sternritter had assembled quickly, lying in wait.

If Yamamoto hadn’t stepped through first, using his immense spiritual pressure to intimidate them, the Captains might have been ambushed the moment they arrived.

"Honestly, I think Old Man Yamamoto could have just come by himself," Shin said, glancing at the surrounding Captains. "Without them holding him back, he might actually perform better."
