“Shin, you haven’t been here in a long time.” Unohana Retsu’s gaze fixed on Shin.
Seeing Unohana staring at him, Shin felt a bit awkward. He had indeed been slacking off in the Second Division lately.
“Why would Shin need to come here?” Yoruichi glanced at Unohana and said flatly.
Unohana raised an eyebrow slightly, then smiled warmly, completely ignoring Yoruichi as if she wasn’t there.
“Ignored me, huh?” Yoruichi frowned, slamming her hand on the table and glaring at Unohana.
“Captain Yoruichi, can I take your behavior as a provocation?” Unohana stood up suddenly, looking at Yoruichi.
Although Unohana’s personality had mellowed considerably, she wasn’t someone to be provoked. Usually, she preferred to stay out of things, unlike her past self who enjoyed fighting.
But facing Yoruichi, Unohana didn’t mind engaging, especially since Yoruichi seemed to be deliberately provoking her.
“That’s right, Captain Unohana. Want to have a spar?” Yoruichi asked Unohana.
Her eyes were full of challenge, deliberately provoking Unohana to fight.
“Sure. But Shin, don’t interfere.” Unohana stood up calmly, glancing at Shin.
“Captain, are you really going to fight?” Isane Kotetsu asked. She really didn’t want to see Captain Unohana fight anyone.
Shin glanced at Isane, comparing their heights. Well, Shin was only slightly taller than her. Isane was definitely tall for a woman.
“Why is Captain Shin looking at me?” Isane noticed Shin’s gaze and quickly lowered her head, asking shyly.
“Nothing.” Shin shook his head slightly.
He turned his attention back to Unohana and Yoruichi. It seemed they were really going to fight. Knowing Unohana, she definitely wanted to teach Yoruichi a lesson.
She probably wouldn’t hold back. Well, he’d watch for now. If Unohana went too far, he’d step in.
They moved to the Fourth Division’s training ground.
“Did we come at a good time? Just in time to see a show.”
Shunsui Kyoraku arrived with Jushiro Ukitake.
“What are you two doing here?” Shin asked them.
“One of my squad members got injured, so I came to ask the Fourth Division for help,” Shunsui explained.
As for Ukitake, he had been dragged along by Shunsui after they had been drinking together.
“Then hurry up and find someone. What if your squad member dies?” Shin said grumpily.
Watching the drama at a time like this.
“I’ve already spoken to Vice-Captain Isane. She’s sent someone over,” Shunsui said, sitting down.
“What’s the situation? Did things go south for you? But if that happened, shouldn’t they be teaming up against you?”
Shunsui was confused.
“Don’t be so nosy when you have nothing to do.” Shin glanced at Shunsui. Why was he so gossipy?
“Can’t I be curious? Besides, I’m concerned about you.”
“I don’t need your concern. If you have nothing else to do, get lost, or I’ll make you stay in the Fourth Division permanently.”
Shin smiled at Shunsui, a smile that sent shivers down Shunsui’s spine, like being targeted by a terrifying beast.
“So scary.” Shunsui shuddered internally, but he had no intention of leaving.
He would just stay quiet. Even Ukitake trying to pull him away didn’t work.
Fine, he’d stay. If Shin really tried to attack him, he could try to talk him down.
Unohana and Yoruichi had already started fighting. Drawing their swords, a flash of blade light slashed towards Yoruichi, who used Shunpo to dodge.
However, a piece of Yoruichi’s sleeve was cut off. If she had been any slower, she would have been in real danger.
“No way, are they serious? Shin, aren’t you going to stop them?” Shunsui asked Shin urgently.
“Relax, I know what I’m doing.” Shin glanced at Shunsui.
He knew Unohana wouldn’t kill Yoruichi, but in terms of strength, Unohana was superior.
“Is it really okay?” Ukitake looked worried.
Seeing their concern, Shin didn’t say anything. With him there, he could intervene at any moment if things went wrong.
So what could happen? There was no need to worry.
“Your speed has improved.” Unohana looked at Yoruichi. She had seen Yoruichi’s strength before.
Compared to the past, Yoruichi was clearly stronger, but the improvement was limited.
“Hmph.” Yoruichi snorted, continuing her attack. She had suffered a small loss earlier.
Yoruichi was slightly annoyed. After all, suffering a loss wasn’t a pleasant feeling.
Before fighting Unohana, Yoruichi had been confident she could put up a fight.
But after actually engaging, she realized she was completely outmatched. She wasn’t Unohana’s opponent at all.
Although they had just started, she was being suppressed in every aspect.
“Take this.” Yoruichi used the Superhuman Strength Punch, a punch with considerable power.
If it hit Unohana, even with her superior strength, it wouldn’t be pleasant.
Unohana sensed the danger and raised her sword to block the punch with the flat of the blade, but she was still knocked back by the explosive force.
Pushed back, Unohana looked at Yoruichi in surprise.
“Not bad. That was a powerful punch.”
Unohana praised Yoruichi.
“Don’t look at me like you’ve already won.” Yoruichi felt even more annoyed.
Even though she had seemingly gained a slight advantage with that hit, Unohana’s words made it feel like she was still the underdog.
Shin shook his head slightly. Yoruichi hadn’t fully mastered the Superhuman Strength Technique yet. It made sense; she hadn’t been practicing it for long. Performing this well was already impressive.
