"Really? That’s wonderful! I was just thinking I’d have to fix up the sleeping area later, but now I don’t need to bother at all. Thank you so much, Harumiko — I just know it’s going to be really comfortable tonight!" Hiroshi said warmly.

Harumiko smiled happily. It was summer, so naturally they both wore lighter clothes; she was dressed in a short?sleeved top and a skirt that suited her perfectly — she looked lovely, and quite charming too.

"You picked a skirt today, with a short?sleeved top... you really look ready for summer! Though honestly, summer is almost over now — we’re practically heading into autumn," Hiroshi said, feeling the gentle breeze around them.

Harumiko turned the meat slowly over the fire. It was starting to turn golden brown and crisp — just a few more minutes and it would be ready.

"Hiroshi, look — it’s nearly done. Rabbit meat cooks so fast, doesn’t it? It’s naturally tender and soft," she said with a grin.

Hiroshi nodded and checked the meat himself. The outside was beautifully roasted and crisp; it looked and smelled delicious.

"You’re right. In about two or three minutes, we can dig in!"

Hearing that made Harumiko’s face light up — she was absolutely starving and couldn’t wait any longer.

Hiroshi unscrewed the cap of the salt container and sprinkled it evenly over the meat — perfect timing, just before it came off the fire.

"Hey, I almost forgot — I bought some drinks earlier, just in case we got thirsty and couldn’t find water. I’ll go get them now. That way we can have something to drink with our meal, so we won’t choke on the meat," he said, suddenly remembering.

He stood up, went over to his pack, and brought out the bottles.

"You really are thoughtful! Who would’ve thought you’d remember to buy drinks? If it had been me doing the shopping, I definitely would’ve forgotten," Harumiko said, smiling as she saw them.

Hiroshi set them down on the ground and sat back down with a chuckle. "That’s exactly why I don’t send you to buy things! You’re a little bit forgetful. If I let you go out alone, you’d probably end up getting lost too!"

"Hey, that’s so mean! I’m not direction?challenged or anything! If I went out, I’d definitely find my way back. I’m confident about that!" Harumiko protested playfully.

She couldn’t help laughing though — it had been a long time since he teased her like that, and it actually made her feel happy.

"You’re such a tease! Anyway — is it ready yet? I am so hungry right now!" she said, her eyes fixed on the roasting meat.

Hiroshi glanced over, took one of the cooked rabbits off the fire, and handed it to her. "Alright, alright — it’s ready now. You know, if you hadn’t reminded me, I might have completely forgotten we were cooking dinner!"

He took one for himself too, and together they sat eating the hot, delicious meat and sipping their drinks. It really was a perfect moment.
