Myth Beyond Heaven

Chapter 3090 - 3090: The Battle of The New Era (8)

Inside the spiritual sanctuary of the Land of Nowhere, a profound transformation had reached its completion.

Yun Lintian’s soul, which had been meditating under the embrace of the World Tree, slowly opened his eyes.

They were the same mismatched eyes—one holding his original color, the other now containing a deep, serene light that was a fusion of all he had learned. But the expression within them was utterly different from Nian Shi’s cold arrogance. They were exceptionally calm, a stillness that ran deeper than any ocean, a clarity that saw through the fundamentals of existence. This text is hosted at noᴠelfire.net

The grief, the rage, the determination—all were still there, but they were now perfectly integrated, tools to be used rather than passions to rule him. He had fully absorbed the World Tree’s aura, the essence of the Creator’s soul from Ning Yue, and the ultimate understanding of Creation and Uncreation.

Long Yi, who had been standing guard, felt the change immediately. The aura radiating from Yun Lintian was no longer just powerful; it was… whole. It was the true, rightful owner returned to his throne.

“Child,” Long Yi said, his voice filled with a mix of awe and solemnity. “Are you ready?”

Yun Lintian did not answer immediately. He slowly raised a hand and placed it gently on the massive trunk of the World Tree. He could feel its life, its history, its silent support. He could feel the lingering warmth of Ning Yue’s sacrifice within it. A faint, bittersweet smile touched his lips.

Then, he looked at Long Yi, his calm eyes holding an unshakable resolve.

“I am ready,” Yun Lintian said, his voice quiet but carrying absolute finality.

Long Yi nodded, a look of profound peace settling on his ancient features. “Good. Then it is time for this old bone to fulfill his final duty.”

He took a step back, and his human form began to glow with an intense azure light. It expanded, shifted, and transformed. In the place of the man stood the majestic, colossal form of the Primordial Azure Dragon God, his scales shimmering with the light of the first dawn.

He threw his head back and let out a roar—the same primordial, soul-shaking roar that had shattered Nian Shi’s concentration in the external world.

ROOOOOOOOAAAAAARRRR!

As the echo of the roar faded within the sanctuary, Yun Lintian reached down to the ethereal, golden Chains of Primordial Order that still shackled his spiritual wrists. He didn’t struggle against them. He simply grabbed them with both hands, his fingers tightening around the links forged by the Creator herself.

Then, with a surge of power that came from the perfect unity within him, he tore.

CRACK!

The chains, symbols of absolute suppression, shattered like glass. The fragments scattered into motes of golden light all over the place.

But his work was not done. The eight Divine Beast Souls were still imprisoned.

Long Yi, in his magnificent dragon form, did not hesitate. He surged forward, a blazing comet of azure light. He did not attack the chains directly. Instead, he passed through them, his soul acting as a conduit of pure, primordial draconic power.

He shot through the chains binding the White Tiger God. The golden links, unable to withstand the concentrated self-sacrifice of the First Dragon Ancestor, shattered.

He turned and soared through the chains on the Vermilion Bird. They exploded.

BANG! BANG! BANG!!

One by one, he freed them—the Divine Phoenix, the Golden Crow, the Black Turtle, the Qilin, the Ice Phoenix. With each liberation, Long Yi’s own form burned brighter, his soul consuming itself to fuel the immense effort.

Finally, with the last chain broken, Long Yi’s form hovered in the center of the sanctuary. He was now little more than a brilliant, fading silhouette of azure light. He looked at Yun Lintian, his massive dragon eyes filled with a final, desperate hope.

“Child… Yun Lintian…” his voice was a faint whisper, carried on the last of his soul’s energy. “My clan… I leave them… to you…”

Yun Lintian looked at the dying ancestor, the one who had given everything, and gave a slow, solemn nod. “I will bring them back. I promise.”

A final, peaceful sigh seemed to echo through the space. Long Yi’s form dissolved completely, his light scattering and merging with the energy of the Land of Nowhere. His sacrifice was complete.

At that exact moment, the space in front of Yun Lintian twisted.

Nian Shi’s soul manifestation appeared. But it was not the calm, calculating god of before. It was a visage of pure, unadulterated rage and shock. His form flickered, unstable, clearly injured and reeling from both Yin’s counterattack and the sudden loss of control.

His silver eyes, blazing with fury, locked onto Yun Lintian. Then, his gaze swept past him to the magnificent, fully manifested World Tree standing proudly behind him.

His jaw went slack with utter, disbelieving shock.

“The… The World Tree…” he stammered, his voice a mixture of rage and confusion. “It’s here?! How?! This is impossible! The Land of Nowhere…”

Nian Shi’s soul manifestation trembled with a fury so intense it distorted the very light of the spiritual sanctuary.

“This… this is impossible!” he roared, the calculated calm of the God of Time completely shattered. “I erased her! I erased that bitch along with her accursed Land of Nowhere in our final battle! I felt it cease to exist! It was unmade! It was supposed to be GONE!”

His mind raced, connecting the fragments. The last time he had seen Ning Yue, she had escaped with a fragment of the World Tree. He had scoured the cosmos for her, but she had vanished without a trace. He had assumed she had found some hidden pocket dimension to wither away in.

He never, in his wildest calculations, imagined this. She hadn’t just hidden a piece of the tree; she had hidden within the source itself. The Land of Nowhere hadn’t been destroyed; it had been concealed, folded away right under his nose, within the very Land of Beyond Heaven.

The sheer, audacious brilliance of the deception was a slap in the face.

Yun Lintian watched Nian Shi’s meltdown with an unnerving calm. The storm of emotions that had once ruled him was now a still, deep ocean under his command.

“Nothing is impossible,” Yun Lintian said, his voice quiet but carrying an absolute, unshakable authority that seemed to resonate with the World Tree itself. “You deal in endings, Nian Shi. But you fail to understand that some things simply… are. They exist beyond the scope of your erasure.”

As he spoke, he raised a hand. The motes of golden light—the fragments of the shattered Chains of Primordial Order that Long Yi had broken—still floated in the air around them. At his gesture, they suddenly stopped their random drift.

They began to glow, then shot towards each other, clicking back into place with a series of soft, chime-like sounds.

CLANG!

In the blink of an eye, the chains were whole again, hovering in the air before Yun Lintian, but now they hummed with a different energy…
