My Ultimate OP System: Summoning All Dragons, Gods, Heroes & Villains
Chapter 486: Numeral Of The Sun (III)
Under ordinary circumstances, an exchange of strength like this should have gradually favored Ethan.
But Agravain was not fighting at a fixed level. Instead, he was growing stronger by the minute.
His speed, physical strength, and the power flowing through his blessing continued to increase as the battle progressed.
Agravain was one of the few Blessed of his era, and among those who received blessings, he was one of the strongest.
His blessing came from the sun god, Heliorn, a deity who was himself the son of an Elder God.
Even among Blessed who had achieved complete resonance with their deities, Agravain’s complete resonance state was exceptionally powerful.
The reason for this was due to the nature of his blessing.
He had been granted the blessing; Numeral of the Sun.
This allowed him to draw upon the power of the sun itself, causing his strength to increase throughout the day.
From the moment dawn arrived, the solar and fire power flowing through his body steadily intensified.
As the hours passed, so did his strength.
And the closer the world came to noon, the more powerful Agravain became; only reaching his peak when the sun reached its highest point in the sky.
That was why Ethan was finding it increasingly difficult to overpower him.
Every collision between their fists produced an explosion of opposing forces, lightning and flames bursting against one another as they exchanged blows at tremendous speed.
Thunderstorms had begun forming across the skies, lightning occasionally flashing through the clouds above them.
Yet even as Ethan’s own power surged through every attack, Agravain continued matching him.
Noon was approaching.
The battle continued for another five minutes. And during that time, Ethan had thrown almost everything he could at Agravain.
Attack after attack was launched at the knight, only for them to be burned away by the overwhelming heat surrounding his body or parried successfully by his fists.
Eventually, Ethan realized this was a losing game.
Agravain had continued growing stronger throughout the battle, and Ethan had reached the point where he could no longer keep up with that growth.
He noticed it when his manipulation of gravity began to falter.
The gravitational field surrounding him could no longer hold for as long as it had before, forcing him to repeatedly disengage and reinforce it.
That brief lapse was enough for the heat to reach him; causing extremely severe burns to spread across his skin.
Although his regeneration kicked in to repair the damage, but the intensity of the flames was becoming too much even for his regeneration to handle comfortably.
Ethan was forced to disengage.
He accelerated away from Agravain, putting as much distance between them as possible before finally slowing down.
This time, however, Agravain did not pursue.
Instead, he simply raised one hand upwards as a sphere of condensed solar flames began forming above his palm.
-
Far away, Morgana watched the scene unfold. Even at such a great distance, the heat radiating from Agravain had become intense enough for sweat to form across her face.
She made a handkerchief float into her hand and calmly wiped the moisture from her skin.
Her eyes stayed fixed on Ethan, watching as he breathed heavily, trying to recover as his burned flesh slowly rebuilt itself.
Morgana smiled. "He is strong..."
Her gaze then shifted toward Agravain.
The sphere above his palm had grown enormous, its surface churning with concentrated solar fire.
Flames now engulfed his entire body as well, until the knight’s silhouette could barely be distinguished beneath the blazing inferno.
At this point, Agravain no longer looked like a man surrounded by flames but like an entity made entirely of fire.
Morgana’s smile widened into a devious grin. "But what is he going to do against that?"
-
Ethan stared at the sphere with widened eyes.
The sheer power radiating from it was overwhelming.
The magic power contained within the attack was so immense that Ethan understood his regeneration would not save him.
Not at all.
Even the 24% resistance he had developed against Agravain’s flames would do practically nothing against this.
These flames were on an entirely different level from everything he had endured since the inception of this battle.
They were a lot stronger.
So much stronger that his Danger Precognition began repeatedly showing him terrible flashes of what was to come.
Agravain slowly lowered his palm, bringing the enormous sphere of solar flames to its descent.
Ethan stared at it, the glow of yellow and white glinting in his eyes. "Fuck."
——
Meanwhile, in another distant part of the fallen province, the battle between Kylarod, the demon skull-faced puppet, and the group had already begun.
Hayley, Eduardo, Percival, Wilson, Bernadette, and Valerie fought against the demon in a coordinated formation.
With the exception of the two casters, who remained in supporting roles, the other four attacked with remarkable synchronization.
Each knew when to engage, when to retreat, how to flank, and when to leave an opening for the next person to enter.
At this moment, Wilson had just unleashed a flurry of orange aura slashes using the Heydrich family’s sword style.
Unfortunately, every one of his attacks either struck Kylarod’s armor with little more than a scratch or was blocked by the demon’s raised arm.
However, the moment Wilson’s attacks ended, Percival, in his full-blown white werewolf form, descended from above.
His gauntlet-covered fist came crashing toward Kylarod with tremendous force.
Percival’s combat strength had already been enhanced by 25% through his gauntlet, sunscar, but that was not the only enhancement currently affecting him.
Ethan had also granted him several blessings containing traits from the other werewolf families.
The Le Gris family’s Speed Enhancement allowed Percival to enter the battle with greater speed, while the Roz family’s Scent Erasure completely concealed his presence, mana signature, and scent.
Together, the traits gave him the perfect opportunity for a surprise attack from above.
Percival’s fist struck Kylarod directly.
But he had underestimated his opponent.
The demon did nothing to avoid the attack, allowing Percival’s gauntlet to crash directly into the skull-fitted helmet covering the top part of his head.
The impact produced a heavy clang but Kylarod’s head barely moved, neither was there even a visible dent on the helmet.
