My Tribrid System: More than a Monster
Chapter 535: Work Asses Out (2)
Chapter 533
A wind spear thrust towards Trisha’s abdomen, forcing her hand to snap into place. She deflected the blade upward, sending it crashing into the ceiling with a resounding bang.
Another doll blurred forward with superspeed, its fist railing towards her face.
Snapping her guard into place, ice crept upward, forming a massive ice shield that absorbed the impact of the punch, barely forcing her to move.
Her wooden katana sliced through the air in a controlled arc, landing against the doll’s neck and forcing it backward for a moment.
Slamming one leg into the ground, a small ice pillar suddenly jutted upward, pushing her into the air just in time as a dozen earth spikes erupted from the ground beneath her.
While in mid-air, Trish spun around, her cold eyes landing on two dolls that were already preparing to jump after her.
Pointing her hands towards them, a volley of ice spikes rushed downward.
This forced the dolls to scatter in an attempt to avoid the barrage.
The earth-wielding dolls all slammed their hands into the ground, and a dome of earth snapped upward, shifting into place over their heads along with those of some of the other dolls.
Alas!
Those who were too slow found themselves impaled by the spikes, their bodies forcefully deactivating as they were sent blasting into a wall.
Trish performed an acrobatic flip, landing gracefully in a controlled stance.
Only for a superspeed-using doll to dart towards her—wielding a wooden sword just like she was.
It brought the sword down on her with blazing speed.
The attack almost caught Trish off guard, but she was able to bring her sword into position just barely.
The force of the swing drove her down onto one knee.
Then the doll’s foot snapped towards her jaw with terrible speed.
With precise control of her wrist, she threw the beast to the side before pouncing forward with a thrust that smashed into its abdomen, sending it crashing backward.
WAM!
An earth boulder came from the side, slamming into her with ferocious strength and sending her body blurring to the side.
She landed on the ground and rolled several times while a dozen wind slashes hurtled down at her.
Coughing out specks of blood and feeling the tremble in her arms, Trisha gritted her teeth and rolled once before slamming one hand onto the ground, causing herself to spring upward.
Performing a flip, she dashed to the side just in time as the slashes plunged into the ground, tearing deep grooves into it while a cloud of dust rose into the air.
Sweat was beginning to form along the side of her head, rolling down her ivory skin as she locked eyes with the remaining six or seven dolls.
Bang!
Her head snapped to the side, followed by the rest of her body, faster than her mind could react as she parried a sword strike to the side.
Swinging her ice-encased knuckles forward, she crashed them into the jaws of the doll, sending its head swinging backward from the force of the punch.
A volley of earth spikes rushed towards her.
Trisha lunged forward, grabbing the doll before her before it could go flying away.
Pushing off, she darted forward, using the doll’s body as a shield against the volley of earth spikes that burrowed into its body.
Images of Ray emerging from the Gate flashed through her mind in rapid succession.
Grinding her teeth, she hurled the body away before lunging forward with terrifying agility, reaching the doll faster than it could move.
Her wooden katana descended on its neck with powerful force, sending its knees buckling to the ground.
A roundhouse kick sent its head flying into the distance.
Whoooosh! Whoooosh! Whoooosh!
Wind swords hurtled towards her from behind.
Pivoting around smoothly, she snapped her hand into place, her katana blurring through the air as it collided with the incoming wind swords.
Cracks and bangs resounded throughout the room as she was pushed backward with every parry she made.
Her hands moved like those of a professional seamstress who had practiced with a needle a thousand times.
Each parry and block connected with deadly precision, flowing together as smoothly as water.
A doll rushed towards her from behind while she remained occupied with the wind swords.
Its wooden sword streaked towards her side.
The image of Ray alone in the middle of hundreds of Ogres, dancing between them with chilling fury, crossed her mind again.
*I-Not enough. I need to be stronger... more powerful to be wort... to handle all my obstacles.*
From block to attack, the transition was so seamless that the doll was left stunned as her wooden sword collided with its own.
Both weapons possessed the same durability.
Yet the doll’s wooden sword snapped in half.
An ice hammer immediately followed, slamming into its face.
The force sent it flying away like a ragdoll.
Trisha slammed her foot into the ground.
Ice crept forward like a relentless virus, determined to debilitate whoever it encased.
The dolls with superspeed had already been taken care of, leaving the remaining ones unable to move away in time as the ice encased their legs, pinning them firmly to the ground.
Pushing off effortlessly, Trisha skidded forward like a professional skater—her sword screaming silently through the air as she moved from one doll to the next.
Pommel, blade, and tip were not spared as she moved.
And soon, she skidded to a stop behind them.
Simultaneously—
{Deactivating!}
The mechanical voices of the dolls rang out as they collapsed to the ground, lifelessly deactivated.
Only the Ice Queen remained, panting as sweat rolled down her ivory skin.
Blood dribbled down her lips, her chest rising and falling in a steady rhythm.
Her blue eyes shone with determination as the image of Aberrants invading the Walls crossed her mind once again.
*Not enough. More. More. More. I don’t feel a thing yet.*
Turning around, she walked towards the next batch of silent, unactivated dolls and activated them.
