My Three Babies Have Different Fathers
Chapter 6: You can sell one of them
After finishing breastfeeding her three babies, Hana was still fascinated by the size of her breasts.
They were still so big!
How could her three babies have drunk that much milk and yet not reduced their size at all?
Hana shook her head and placed her third baby back into the baby box. The smell of milk was still clearly noticeable around the little one’s mouth, making Hana reluctant to let him go and want to force him to drink even more.
Hana sat back down and began eating her meal on the bed. The nurse had already left. She ate enthusiastically—whether because she was truly hungry or because seeing her babies full had somehow made her hungry as well, she didn’t know.
Once she finished, Hana leaned back against the bed. Her mind began racing as she thought about all the possibilities.
Am I really inside a novel? Hana wondered with a troubled expression.
She had once desperately wanted to enter a novel and become a wealthy princess who had a harem. But after she told Brandon, her boyfriend, about that wish, he had immediately forced her to break up with him.
Her heart had pounded at the time. Brandon had said that a woman who had more than one man was disgusting. And that she deserved to die without a funeral.
Hana shook her head, chasing away the memory that had suddenly surfaced. She lowered her gaze to both of her arms. Her eyes settled on a small mole beside her ring finger.
Hana blinked before hurriedly examining it.
"Ah... how can this body be this similar to my original body?" Hana asked herself.
In her original world, she also had a small mole beside her ring finger. And this one was exactly the same as hers, whether in size, location, or shape.
Hana shook her head again, still refusing to accept reality, before immediately lying down on the bed. She could accept reincarnation, entering a novel, or possessing someone else’s body. But she couldn’t accept something like this.
Hana forced her eyes shut. After a while, she finally sank into a deep sleep.
That day, Hana only woke whenever the nurse came in to deliver her meals. She would eat and calmly breastfeed her three children before going back to sleep. It was not until the following morning that Hana finally began moving around like a normal human being outside her hospital room.
"Ma’am, you can go home today. Your condition is stable, and your blood pressure is normal. There were no negative results from this examination," said the doctor who had helped her give birth the previous night.
Hana nodded and smiled. "Doctor, thank you for helping me," she said.
"It’s my duty as a doctor. After this, you can take care of the discharge administration. There will be a surprise waiting for you there, so you don’t need to be afraid," the doctor explained, trying to give Hana some information while also reassuring her so she would not panic about the cost.
Hana blinked before slowly nodding.
After the doctor left, Hana changed out of her hospital clothes and into the casual clothes she had brought with her.
"Hic... how am I supposed to wear clothes this terrible now?" Hana asked as she held back a sob.
In her original world, she had never worn clothes that were this worn-out or this terrible. Both her parents and Brandon always bought her new clothes every month. But... now.
All she had was a worn-out dress with a patch under the armpit. The thread on the other side had even begun to come loose.
Hana shook her head, imagining how miserable her life would be from now on. She hurried out of her hospital room and headed toward the administration counter. She was prepared to have her identification card confiscated and to sign a debt agreement.
"Mrs. Hana Frash? Is that correct?" the nurse asked after looking through Hana’s documents.
"That’s right. That’s me."
"Please sign these forms first," she said as she handed Hana several sheets of paper.
"What are these forms for?"
"Forms for receiving assistance from the government of Karua."
Seeing that Hana was still wearing a confused expression, the administrative clerk finally explained.
"There are very few babies being born in Karua. Many residents prefer to live in the capital. So, after seeing your condition—giving birth to three babies at once while being extremely poor—we decided to apply for assistance for you," the clerk said casually.
Hana’s eyes glimmered for a moment. Although government assistance sounded unpleasant to her ears, she desperately needed their help for the time being.
"How much assistance will I receive?" Hana asked.
"Five hundred dollars. But because the hospital also has to deduct the cost of your delivery yesterday, we will only give you two hundred dollars as assistance."
"Five hundred dollars?" Hana asked in disbelief.
Five hundred dollars was her monthly allowance back home, but now... it was government assistance? And it still had to be deducted to cover the delivery costs?
The administrative clerk let out a low sigh. "You’re still young. You have to struggle on your own to provide for your three babies. You can’t rely on the city government to finance your life and the lives of your three children."
Hana said nothing about the insult uttered by the administrative clerk in front of her. But her fingers crumpled the papers in her hands.
She was truly poor. And worse than that, she was extremely poor.
Finally, Hana nodded and calmly filled out the form in her hands.
"I suggest you find the father of your three children. You can force him to pay his share of the responsibility. Don’t bear it all by yourself."
Hana grimaced at the suggestion. She didn’t even know who the father of those three children was. How could she demand financial responsibility from him?
It seemed she would have to dig through garbage just to support these three children.
"If you don’t want to ask the children’s father for help, you can sell one of your children to a wealthy person. All three of your children are handsome, and they’re healthy as well. There are many couples in Cairo who don’t have children. You can sell one of them to such a couple and use the money to support your other two children."
Hana raised her head and glared angrily at the person in front of her. Even though she didn’t remember carrying the three children, she was the one who had given birth to them. She knew how painful it had been. How could she so easily sell them to someone else?
Seeing Hana’s irritated expression as she clearly rejected the suggestion, the administrative clerk finally lowered her voice.
"Actually, the one providing you with this assistance isn’t the government. It’s a donation from one of the mafia members who controls the underground routes in Kota Karua. He uses the government’s good name so that his illegal business can operate smoothly without any obstacles."
