Ghani Wen chuckled as he looked at Maya with disdain.

"Maya, you’re the one who caused all this and dragged the other three regional rulers into trouble. Tell me, how should I deal with you? Should I confiscate half of your territory? Or take half of your—"

"Dream on!" Maya interrupted. "My Vein family hasn’t committed such a serious crime. I was merely dealing with one of your people who was causing trouble. Besides, just look at what happened afterward."

"You killed the Deputy Head of the Supervisory Council’s illegitimate son. Was his existence also such a nuisance to you?" Ghani interrupted, then glanced at the Deputy Head sitting right beside him. "And you, tell me, what has the Vein family given you? Do you think I don’t know what you did outside my supervision yesterday?"

"Nonsense!" the Deputy head protested. "Head of the Council, I only want to deal with the people who killed my son. I—"

"Then what about the main cause of all these problems? You don’t seem to care about that at all. Did the Vein family promise you something that made you dare to go this far?"

"The Vein family didn’t promise me anything. The Deputy Head and I acted out of our own personal interests," Maya replied.

Ghani sneered before looking at her again. "Perhaps you really didn’t receive any promises. But what about your son? He’s still an heir, yet he dared to get involved to this extent."

"That’s not true!" the Deputy Head protested, still refusing to admit to the accusations.

Ghani waved his hand. His subordinates immediately displayed recordings of their meetings, secret messages, and several documents found in the Deputy Head’s office that day.

"What is this? Explain it to me," Ghani said after all the evidence had been displayed.

The Deputy Head rose from his seat and pointed at Ghani’s face.

"How dare you search through my belongings? Ghani Wen, isn’t this considered an illegal search? You did it without my permission and even dared to enter my private territory!"

Ghani casually rested his chin on his hand. "So, should I have asked for your permission before investigating evidence of your attempted betrayal? You dared to side with one of the regional rulers and intended to take my position."

He smiled mockingly before continuing, "Tell me, if I accused you of something like that, would you willingly allow me to search through all these belongings?"

The Deputy Head’s face flushed with anger.

Tino, who was sitting beside him, rubbed his eyebrows. He seemed conflicted before finally letting out a heavy breath and looking at the two officials who were arguing.

"This isn’t entirely his fault," Tino interjected. "He’s also a victim. He only wants justice for his son."

"And?" Ghani asked. "How is he any different from that woman earlier? Isn’t Hana also a victim?" He sneered. "Or do you consider that woman a non-victim because she dared to compete with your daughter for a man, while my Deputy deserves to be called a victim because he’s on your side?"

Tino’s expression darkened. "Ghani Wen, are you sure you want to make such accusations against me?"

Ghani gestured for his subordinates to hand all the evidence to Tino Nair.

"See for yourself. Tell me, are these the people who have been the roots of your power in this place all this time?"

Tino stared at the sheets of paper before him without saying a word.

"You’ve investigated this far? Are you planning to wipe out all my influence from the Melvin Continent?"

Ghani picked up a glass of wine brought by one of his subordinates.

"Tino Nair, you’re no longer the Head of the Supervisory Council in this territory. You don’t need roots of power here. Do you think I’ve spent the past ten years sitting idly by while your people did whatever they pleased?"

He took a sip before continuing, "My people have been keeping an eye on them since you were still serving as the Deputy Head of the Supervisory Council of the Melvin Continent."

Tino chuckled. He lowered his voice and looked at Ghani sharply.

"So, you admit that you’ve been eyeing my position since I was still in office?"

Ghani smiled faintly. "Ever since you attacked my Wen family, I’ve been planning all of this."

Tino narrowed his eyes. "Weren’t you still in your teens back then?"

"So?" Ghani raised an eyebrow. "Is there a problem with my age?"

Tino shrugged. His secretary, who was standing behind him, immediately stepped forward after receiving his order and placed several documents before Ghani.

"This is the compensation I’m offering you. Keep quiet about the Vein family case and stop any further investigation," Tino said calmly. "As for that woman, Hana Frash, let her bear the consequences of her actions for daring to injure your Deputy Head’s son."

Orland, who had remained silent until then, finally smiled coldly.

"Tino Nair, are you planning to turn a blind eye? Ah, I almost forgot. You’ve always been like this. No wonder my father agreed to help force you out of office back then."

He paused briefly before continuing, "But do you think we’ll just stand by and do nothing? You want to prevent Hana from gaining her freedom and try to make her bear the blame for something she shouldn’t be held responsible for? I, Orland Hesh, won’t let that happen."

Hans nodded in agreement. "It seems your position in the Kino Continent is still unstable. Are you sure you want to use your power to suppress this matter and make our woman bear the blame for your grandson-in-law?"

Dion simply looked at Ghani Wen without commenting.

"I don’t think you need to interfere in my affairs. Instead, you should start thinking about your own positions after this."

Dion picked up his coffee cup and took a slow sip.

"Head of the Supervisory Council, you should know what decision you need to make. The Melvin territory won’t be able to survive for long without the businesses owned by the three of us. The taxes we pay account for nearly sixty percent of the continent’s total revenue."

He put down his cup, then looked alternately at Maya Vein and Tino Nair.

"If you dare lay a hand on our woman, you certainly understand the consequences. You also can’t simply ask them to make up for the lost revenue if we stop fulfilling our duties as good citizens."

Ghani looked at Dion with his lips slightly pursed. He had only just realized how insanely possessive the man was.

Was this the same man who used to gather several women in one room at a time to serve him?

Ghani shuddered at the thought that this man was now even willing to share a woman with the two other lunatics sitting before him.

After a moment, he looked back at Tino Nair.

"You heard them yourself, didn’t you, Mr. Tino?" he said sarcastically. "I don’t have many options. The Melvin Continent still needs these exemplary citizens to pay their taxes."

He pushed the stack of documents provided by Tino’s secretary back toward their owner.

"Unless you can offer something greater than the contributions of those three men, I might reconsider your request."
