Chapter 104: Kill them for me

Maya, who was sitting at the far end of the row, smiled mockingly.

"Hana, you’re truly skilled in bed. You’re even able to control three men whom even the Head of the Supervisory Council of the Melvin Continent struggles to keep in check. Who would’ve thought that after my son left you, you’d end up gaining three times as much?"

"And who would’ve thought that after that woman gave birth to our three children, your good son is still chasing after her, even intending to give up his inheritance for her sake," Orland sneered upon hearing Maya insult Hana. "I really don’t know how the Vein family raised their son to make him such a wonderful man."

"Heh..." Hans sneered as well. "What a good son. He’s even willing to take in all three of our children and raise them by his side. Maya Vein, tell me, is the Vein family so short of heirs that you’re willing to accept our children? Or..." He lowered his voice. "Are you opening an orphanage and holding charity events?"

Maya glared at Orland and Hans. Her expression darkened further. She gritted her teeth but eventually chose to remain silent because she had no way to counter their mockery.

Ghani Wen tapped his gavel against the table.

"Fine. That’s enough for now."

He then looked at Hana, who was still sitting before him.

"Miss Hana, you may leave for now. The next discussion has nothing to do with you. I’ll have my people escort you to the lounge. You’ll be staying at the residence they provide later. In the meantime, I’ll have your children brought there immediately."

Hana looked up at Ghani for a few moments before finally nodding. She rose from her chair and bowed respectfully. Her long hair, neatly tied back, revealed her upright posture.

Dion, Hans, and Orland frowned. They were clearly displeased at the sight of Hana having to bow to someone else.

Meanwhile, Tino Nair merely glanced at Hana. Without realizing it, his gaze settled on the woman’s pale neck. His eyes glinted as his grip on his wooden cane tightened.

He continued watching Hana until she turned and left the room.

Tino stared at her retreating figure for a few moments, then turned to the subordinate standing behind him and whispered something.

Ghani Wen, who had been observing his behavior from the corner of his eye, smiled mockingly.

You’ll regret this, Tino, he whispered under his breath.

A few moments later, Ghani turned his attention back to the men before him.

"First case. Dion Sexa, tell me how you intend to take responsibility for daring to hack into my Supervisory Council’s system."

Dion looked at Ghani. He crossed his legs and resumed his arrogant attitude, just as he had before noticing Hana’s arrival.

"That was my way of warning Maya Vein."

"But you hacked into the Supervisory Council’s system," Ghani emphasized. "You hacked my system, not the Vein family’s."

Dion scratched his nose, even though it wasn’t itchy.

"As I already explained in the email sent by my secretary, my people were practicing their hacking skills."

"And you chose to practice by hacking into my Supervisory Council’s system?" Ghani asked again.

"I’ll pay for the repairs and all the damages. Besides..." Dion paused briefly. "I did it to find my wife. The Vein family dared to hold her captive. I had no choice but to resort to that."

"Do you know what kind of reprimand you deserve?"

"You can discuss that after speaking with my lawyers. I pay them to handle matters like this."

"Tsk!" Ghani clicked his tongue.

"What about my son, then?" interrupted the Deputy Head of the Supervisory Council, who had remained silent until then.

Dion glanced at Orland and Hans, who were sitting on either side of him. Both looked perfectly calm. Was he the only one facing trouble here?

"He was just an illegitimate son. You can have more illegitimate sons after this."

"Hahahaha!"

The Deputy Head of the Supervisory Council burst into loud laughter.

"Dion Sexa, even though my power and authority aren’t as great as the Head of the Supervisory Council’s, I still have the right to demand justice for myself!"

Dion nodded casually.

"You can also sue Maya Vein if you want greater compensation. She’s the one who brought me to that place. Besides, none of this would have happened if she hadn’t held my wife captive."

Orland then nodded to the leader of his legal team.

Without waiting for anyone’s approval except Orland’s, the man immediately stepped forward and displayed several pieces of evidence on the screen.

"Deputy Head of the Supervisory Council, your illegitimate son dared to lay his hands on our client’s wife. He even intended to sexually assault our Madam. This constitutes an act of self-defense. Under Article XXXX, our Madam is entirely innocent."

He then played a video on the screen.

"You can watch the original footage yourself."

The Deputy Head of the Supervisory Council chuckled.

"Then what is the point of all that evidence? Does my son deserve to die at your feet just like that? Do you think so little of my position?"

The Head of the Supervisory Council did not respond. He merely toyed with the pen in his hand, as though he had no interest in getting involved.

Dion’s legal team leader finally stepped forward as well and handed over several documents.

"According to the evidence gathered by the Sexa family’s legal team, your illegitimate son has also murdered numerous people. Nineteen underage girls, seven young men, and eight housewives. Can you still claim that they all deserved to die at his hands?"

"Are you trying to pressure me?" the Deputy Head of the Supervisory Council asked.

Hans shook his head as he set down his nearly empty coffee cup.

"Deputy Head, this is only the beginning. Your illegitimate son also smuggled various drugs through trade routes in my territory. Isn’t that reason enough to question whether he deserves to live?"

He raised an eyebrow.

"Ah, if you still have doubts, my lawyers also have plenty of evidence regarding that matter. Would you like to see it?"

The Deputy Head of the Supervisory Council glared at the three men. He then turned to his personal guards.

"Kill them for me!" he snarled.

However, the three men did not even leave their seats. They didn’t consider the threat worth responding to.

Seeing that his deputy’s behavior was becoming increasingly uncontrollable, the Head of the Supervisory Council finally raised his gun and fired at the ceiling.

Bang!

"Did I give you permission to do this, Deputy?" he asked coldly. "Didn’t I tell you that this trial is under my control?"

Maya Vein, who had remained silent until then, finally spoke up.

"Deputy Head of the Supervisory Council, I don’t think he has done anything wrong. He’s simply demanding justice for his son’s death."

She then turned her gaze toward Ghani and smiled faintly.

"Head of the Council, haven’t you been favoring these three regional rulers a little too much? Is your power starting to weaken, to the point that you’re gradually siding with them?" she asked.
