My Taming System Makes Me Overpowered

Chapter 232: shattered logic

The silence hanging over the grand crystal court was thick, suffocating, and heavy with disbelief. The air itself felt dense, weighed down by the sudden, unnatural collapse of a divine entity's existence.

Where the Sovereign of Iron had stood moments before, only a faint dusting of grey powder lingered on the pristine marble floor, quickly scattered into nothingness by the silent void of the upper realm. High above the dais, the towering golden Obelisk groaned once more, the fresh, jagged crack down its center glowing with a sickly, unstable amber light. The vast chamber seemed to shrink around that fractured pillar, its ancient, pristine architecture suddenly looking brittle beneath the starless, indifferent cosmos.

One of the six pillars of the world's order was gone. Not defeated in battle—not worn down by attrition or overwhelmed by a greater spell—but stripped, unwritten, and discarded like trash.

On the grand dais, the five remaining Sovereigns stood completely motionless, their ivory masks flickering with frantic, chaotic light. Their towering silhouettes, which had projected an aura of absolute invulnerability for millennia, now seemed rigid, frozen in collective shock. The absolute certainty that had governed their existence for six thousand years had vanished in less than a second.

"His technique..." whispered the Sovereign of Stasis, her voice trembling slightly behind a mask decorated with sweeping, silver hour-glass runes. "He did not overpower Iron's law. He severed Iron's connection to the Obelisk itself. He erased his classification as a divine entity."

"That is impossible!" spat the Sovereign of Displacement, a taller, gaunt figure whose robes constantly shifted between translucent layers of spatial light. "Divine rank is anchored in the fundamental fabric of the universe! It cannot be revoked by anything short of a total cosmic purge!"

"Look at him!" the Lead Sovereign commanded, his voice sharp and cold, cutting through his subordinates' rising panic. "He is not using lower-realm magic. He is projecting an Inward Absolute Domain that denies our jurisdiction. If we fight him individually, he will strip us one by one."

The Lead Sovereign stepped forward to the very edge of the dais, his crimson-and-gold robes sweeping back as he raised both hands toward the vaulted ceiling, his aura flaring in a desperate attempt to stabilize the crumbling atmosphere of the hall.

"We abandon individual judgment," the Lead Sovereign declared, his voice booming with forced authority that vibrated through the crystal pillars. "Stasis! Displacement! Form a dual-domain lock! Bind his spatial coordinates to the Obelisk's core and collapse the local space around him into a singularity! Erase the entire sector!"

"Understood!" the two Sovereigns chorused in unison.

They didn't hesitate. They didn't offer Vince another warning or attempt to lecture him on the hierarchy of the realms. All pride, posturing, and divine protocol were discarded in favor of raw, desperate survival.

The Sovereign of Stasis raised her hands, her silver-veined robes flaring as a dense, pearlescent field of absolute freeze expanded from her palms. Simultaneously, the Sovereign of Displacement slashed his hands horizontally, tearing open seventy-two localized spatial fissures around Vince's position.

"Dual Law Enforcement: Absolute Arrest!"

THUM—!

The environment inside the court transformed instantly.

The pearlescent field touched Vince first, seeking to freeze the vibration of every atom, every particle of light, and every thread of mana within a fifty-yard radius. Time itself seemed to drag to an absolute standstill within the area, turning the ambient air into a solid, unyielding block of temporal ice. Simultaneously, the seventy-two spatial fissures snapped closed like giant, invisible jaws, attempting to chop Vince's physical body into thousands of isolated, cross-dimensional fragments.

It was a flawless, lethal combination—a trap designed to freeze an enemy in time before shredding their physical and spiritual existence across seventy-two separate dimensions.

Barnaby, hovering near Vince's left shoulder, let out a soft, amused hum. "A time-lock coupled with a dimensional shredder. Very classic. Very predictable."

Vince stood in the exact center of the collapsing convergence.

He didn't dodge the spatial fissures. He didn't try to outrun the time-lock. Instead, he took a slow breath, letting his awareness expand through the spiritual threads tied deep within his soul—the silver filigree and golden lattice connecting him to Vetra and Elena down in the Sanctum. Through those anchor points, his presence wasn't just tied to the space he physically occupied; it was rooted into the very bedrock of the realm.

Vince raised his left hand, his bare fingers spreading wide.

He didn't project his energy outward. He applied Absolute Domain to the spatial coordinates surrounding his body, asserting a new, unquestionable law over the room: Spatial boundaries in this domain obey my direction.

SCHWWWWING—!

The seventy-two spatial fissures didn't snap shut on Vince.

Under his absolute command, the direction of the dimensional tears reversed instantly. The invisible, crushing jaws turned outward, sweeping away from Vince and locking straight onto the pearlescent stasis field generated by the Sovereign of Stasis.

The two divine laws—Stasis and Displacement—collided violently with each other.

CRACK-BOOM!

The seventy-two spatial tears swallowed the time-lock whole, tearing the pearlescent field into fragmented, chaotic loops of frozen light. The atmospheric pressure within the court inverted, creating a massive, imploding vacuum that shattered half of the grand marble pillars lining the hall. Huge chunks of white-gold stone were sucked into the spatial tears, pulverized into dust by their own conflicting forces, sending violent shockwaves rattling through the base of the divine thrones.

The Sovereign of Stasis gasped, her hands recoiling as the feedback from her broken law surged back into her arms, cracking the ivory mask across her face. "My... my stasis field was redirected?!"

"He's manipulating our spatial vectors!" the Sovereign of Displacement yelled in horror, trying to pull his hands back to close the fissures.

"You're looking at space as if it belongs to you," Vince's voice echoed, cold and smooth, appearing directly behind the Sovereign of Displacement.

The Sovereign's eyes widened in sheer, paralyzing terror beneath his mask. He hadn't felt Vince move. There had been no spatial ripple, no burst of speed, no displacement flicker. Vince had simply ceased to be in the center of the room and was now standing on the high dais, right behind him.

"When did you—"

The Sovereign of Displacement tried to initiate an emergency dimensional leap, attempting to warp his body three thousand miles away into the upper void.

Vince reached out, his hand moving with quiet, fluid grace. His bare fingers caught the Sovereign of Displacement by the back of his neck, pinching the delicate celestial runes woven into his collar.

"You control displacement," Vince whispered softly, his amethyst eyes burning with a deep, void-like light. "Show me where you think you can go."

Vince applied Rank Severance.

CLINK.

The familiar, chilling sound of a small, metallic snap echoed through the Sovereign's ears.

The translucent, shifting layers of spatial light surrounding the Sovereign's body died instantly, turning into flat, grey smoke. The divine connection binding his soul to the Obelisk's spatial grid was severed in a fraction of a second.

"NO! LEAVE ME! SOVEREIGN OF STASIS, HELP—"

Before the Sovereign of Stasis could react, Vince didn't smash him into the floor. He simply turned his wrist, using the Sovereign's own residual displacement force against him, and hurled him directly into the center of the remaining spatial fissures he had created moments ago.

WRYYYYYY-SHRED!

Deprived of his divine rank and stripped of his spatial immunity, the Sovereign of Displacement was caught in his own dimensional trap. The seventy-two fissures snapped shut around his unshielded, mortal body, tearing his form into microscopic dust that vanished instantly into the empty void between realms.

A second pillar of the Obelisk shattered.

BOOM!

High above the court, another massive, groaning crack tore down the face of the golden Obelisk. Huge fragments of law-crystal broke off from its base, crashing onto the dais below and sending clouds of sparkling, golden dust cascading over the remaining four rulers.

Vince stood on the high dais now, stepping past the floating throne where the Sovereign of Displacement had sat seconds ago.

His dark coat whipped lightly in the draft created by the collapsing fissures. He turned his gaze toward the Sovereign of Stasis, who was backing away in terror, her hands trembling as she held her cracked ivory mask in place.

"Two," Vince noted calmly, his voice ringing with absolute, terrifying clarity through the ruined court.

The Lead Sovereign, along with the two remaining rulers behind him—the Sovereign of Flame and the Sovereign of Void—retreated three steps back toward the central throne. Their divine pressure, once capable of crushing entire civilizations beneath its weight, was now erratic, fractured, and wavering like a dying flame in a gale.

The Lead Sovereign's crimson robes flared as he looked at the shattered Obelisk behind them, then back at Vince's calm, unblemished face.

"You are not a mortal ascending..." the Lead Sovereign whispered, his voice finally losing all its artificial resonance, exposing the raw, desperate fear of a man realizing his mortality. "You are an anomaly... a localized destruction of the universe's order."

"I told you," Vince said, taking another quiet step forward across the crystal dais, the amethyst light in his eyes consuming the ambient golden glare of the hall. "I'm just rewriting the rules."
