My Superpower Leads Me to Murderers
Chapter 378: Blow them up
Chapter 378: Chapter 378: Blow them up
After hearing this, Barry Quinn’s tone grew excited. He strode over to Zoe Sawyer and pointed her in a direction.
Over the past while, he had already familiarized himself with the surrounding terrain.
He knew exactly where the surveillance cameras and hidden sentries were. If the enemy hadn’t deployed so many people, and if his entire team hadn’t been injured, they might never have been cornered in the first place.
Zoe Sawyer opened the door a crack once more. Ignoring the enemies still searching the area, she maneuvered the door in the direction Barry Quinn had indicated.
The onlookers behind them rubbed their eyes in disbelief, their gazes fixed on Zoe Sawyer with fiery intensity.
’No wonder the captain was sent to protect her,’ they thought. ’This ability is just insane!’
"Zoe Sawyer, hold on. There are no cameras here." Spotting a familiar marker, Barry Quinn called for a stop. He had someone bring over a device and carefully passed it through.
Soon, a view of the other side appeared on the screen in Barry Quinn’s hand.
"This is a special-issue device from our side, designed specifically for situations like this," Barry Quinn explained as he maneuvered the small machine to survey the entire area.
Only after confirming there were no issues did he retrieve the device and have Zoe Sawyer continue toward their destination.
"Those guys haven’t found this spot. The security situation around here is no different than before.
That means we can strike right at the heart of their operation and destroy everything!" Barry Quinn clenched his fist in excitement after observing the situation.
The enemy probably thought this was their home turf and that they had the advantage in numbers and equipment, so security in many areas was lax.
Otherwise, Barry Quinn and his team wouldn’t have been able to reach the most critical location at the start and still all escape.
Soon, Zoe Sawyer maneuvered the door to the location Barry Quinn had specified.
Compared to the loose security outside, the area around the warehouse was much stricter. Every direction was under watch, and you couldn’t take three steps without running into someone.
Every man was armed with a machine gun, and several even had packs on their backs.
They scanned their surroundings with vigilant eyes. At the slightest sign of trouble, a small squad would immediately move to investigate.
Without Zoe Sawyer’s door, even if Barry Quinn’s team had managed to sneak back here, they would have failed due to the tight security.
After getting a clear look at the situation, Zoe Sawyer couldn’t help but be amazed. ’Just how valuable must this shipment be for the owner to use so many people to guard it?’
’Or maybe... this is just bait to lure Barry Quinn and the others in?’
"We’re here. What’s the next step?" While keeping the door invisible, Zoe Sawyer opened the crack a little wider so Barry Quinn could also see the scene on the other side.
Just then, Monkey walked over, shouldering a rocket launcher. "Our mission is to destroy this stuff anyway, right? Why don’t we just blow it up?
Zoe Sawyer, if we fire a round through from our side, will it affect you?"
At his words, all eyes focused on Zoe Sawyer, filled with anticipation but also a hint of worry.
"Zoe Sawyer, don’t push yourself. If it’s too much, we’ll find another way. There’s always a weak point.
Or we can attack from the outside. The effect would be the same. There’s no need to take such a risk for this mission," Barry Quinn said, his tone tinged with disapproval.
If this test was successful, he could already imagine how many future missions would require Zoe Sawyer’s cooperation.
’Besides, there are definitely cameras inside that warehouse. If we attack rashly, footage of the door or even Zoe Sawyer might be left behind.’
’I can’t take that risk!’
The others, shaken from their initial excitement, nodded in agreement, saying they could attack from the outside and that there was no need to take the risk.
Zoe Sawyer appreciated Barry Quinn’s concern and began moving the door outward again.
"How’s this position? Is it within range?" Zoe Sawyer asked, stopping the door after moving it a certain distance.
Barry Quinn estimated the distance and nodded.
However, he stopped Monkey, who was itching to fire. "Wait a bit longer," he said. "The search party couldn’t find us, so they should be returning soon."
’Why blow it up just once?’
’We’ll wait for the right moment, blow up the warehouse first, and then, when everyone else comes to check on the situation, we’ll hit them again.’
’That’s how we maximize our gains!’
’Who knows? We might even get an unexpected bonus.’
Hearing Barry Quinn’s plan, the remaining team members couldn’t sit still. They followed Monkey’s example, each shouldering a launcher and walking back over.
"Let’s play it safe. We have to use a few more, make sure nothing is left standing," one of the younger-looking members said, his voice filled with excitement.
He’d never been on a mission this easy, with this much overwhelming firepower. The thought of what they were about to do was just too thrilling.
’They’re all bad guys over there anyway. Wiping them all out at once is practically a good deed!’
Zoe Sawyer stared, dumbfounded, at the group’s actions.
’If they fire all of those, won’t they level the entire area?’ she thought.
Zoe Sawyer subconsciously glanced toward her leader and saw him smiling faintly, seemingly quite pleased with Barry Quinn and his team’s behavior.
’Oh, whatever. It’s not like my people are the ones taking casualties.’
Zoe Sawyer wiped her face, kept the door open, and waited patiently.
Soon, the person they were waiting for arrived.
A convoy of vehicles stopped in front of the warehouse, and a man stepped out of the car in the middle.
As he got out, the two guards who had been standing at the warehouse entrance hurried over with fawning smiles, bowing and scraping as they led the man inside.
Looking through his night-vision scope, Barry Quinn quickly identified the man.
He was the only son of the local crime boss, his most prized heir.
He had a lot of blood on his hands, including that of many of their own countrymen who had come here to work.
For Barry Quinn and his men, if they could take this guy’s life while on this mission, it would be a major accomplishment.
But the man was terrified of dying; whether he was out or at home, he was always surrounded by people.
His bodyguards had been trained by his family since they were young and were absolutely loyal.
They had tried to infiltrate his circle several times and failed. They had even lost two agents in the process.
It was only after confirming there were no friendlies or fellow countrymen in the area that Monkey had dared to suggest a rocket bombardment.
"Monkey, no more waiting. Blow it to hell.
The rest of you, follow up. I want nothing left in that warehouse!" Barry Quinn commanded his team in a cold voice after pulling Zoe Sawyer back to a safe position.
After Monkey took out the rocket launcher, the group had moved from the office to a dedicated training ground on their base, ensuring their use of the weapon wouldn’t affect any surrounding people or buildings.
"Don’t worry, we’re professionals at this!"
Monkey patted the weapon on his shoulder and grinned.
"Let’s blow ’em to hell!"
